Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.
Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.
There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...
Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.
So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.
((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.
This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

SUNDAY
You walk. And you walk. And you walk. And just as the light fades around you and all seems lost...A light appears in the distance, accompanied by the deep toll of a bell.
As the ringing fades, you see it appears to be a rather large resort - and there is a Woman standing in the doorway, holding an electric candle in her hands, a smile on her rather beautiful face as you approach. She bids you welcome to the Hotel and quickly invites all of you in - and as soon as you hit the lobby, with it's blessed warmth, you feel all the hours of that trek here hit you like a freight train. You can't think of anything but bed, almost asleep on your feet, not noticing as The Lady has you sign something - but The Lady carefully leads you to a room for each one of you, and you can't think or see anything but the bed in front of you until you fall deeply asleep.
You wake up to the shrill alarm of a tablet next to you on a bedside table, which has all your fellow guests and a profile about them installed in it. There is also an app labeled Contact the Staff and tapping it will take you to a user-friendly screen where you can input a request for the Staff to handle. Also near the Tablet is a List of rules and room directory.
Then again...where is this place? Leaving your room - which always has outfits which are exactly the kind you normally wear in the closet, or clothes that are important to you in some way - you'll find yourself in the resort proper, with quite a bit of things to do and explore.
Then again...maybe you'd just like answers...?]
THE STAFF
[Before anyone says anything, The Lady who brought you in before motions you all to the lobby, where a bunch of shining, friendly faces await, standing at attention.]
Welcome, dear Guests. We are honored to have been a safe haven in your time of need - and we are pleased to tell you that the Blizzard you were stuck in has abated. However, we regret to inform you that all the roads out of here have been completely snowed in. We have cleared off the areas necessary to go skiing, of course, but maintaining the roads is unfortunately outside of our control.
We ask that you please understand this delay, and put your minds at ease - you will not have to pay one single dollar for the amount of time you will spend here. We hope that you enjoy your stay with us while we all wait for the roads to clear, and we thank you for your time.
[After she says that, The Lady leaves - and what are left behind are smiling Staff, some of whom disperse, and others who stay around to field questions. One of the Staff quickly gets behind the reception desk in a trained and practiced movement, as if done hundreds of times before.]

[ just going to mutter that under her breath, shaking her head, but she does want to ask a question to the staff ]
How long are we expected to stay here, exactly?

Right. You're not really giving us much of a choice on whether we want to stay here or not. I've got a few questions, and I've spend way too long trudging through the goddamn snow to not have them answered right now. How the hell did you know we would be coming here?
[Because, clearly, they were the ones expecting them, so they must be responsible, right?]

Umm... I don't mean to be rude, but was that lady expecting us?
[It's plain suspicious. Not that this whole experience hasn't been -it's reminding Tsumugi of the set up to horror or mystery anime afterll-, but It'd have been one thing if she was behind the reception desk and they all just happened to walk in. But... the Lady was waiting there at the door. Maybe she's just being paranoid, but... well. She'd rather not find out she's an extra in a real life reenactment of The Shining later. ]

At the time, he was too tired to really care, and just huddled on the floor in a blanket nest. Now that he's awake? ... Honestly, he still doesn't mind. It's comfortable.
He'll drag himself from his nest bed to the front desk, dressed in his preferred outfit- lab coat and all- with Archimedes preening himself on his shoulder. For those of you who didn't ask about Archimedes yesterday, the presence of the bird may come as a surprise.
The Staff's explanation of what's going on initially doesn't bother him. It's only when Archimedes coos that Medic frowns, thinking things over again.]
Do you have any idea why were were out in the snow in the first place? None of us knew each other prior to meeting in that storm.

[Blue Angel's expression has been pretty closed off since she woke up, and found outfits that definitely aren't recognizable but which are somehow themed after her avatar in her closet. There's some clothes from home, too. It was surprising and unpleasant up until she found her profile on the tablet, and then it was just unpleasant.
She's stubbornly wearing her Blue Angel outfit still, because avatars don't exactly have to change. She'll consider that some other time. There's too much going on right now.
For the moment, she'll accost one of the staff, since trying to get to the Lady is presumably difficult at this time.]
Which area is this? Why are we here? What's happened to Link VRAINS?
[She means, of course, a network area or maybe even an area of VRAINS. Between yesterday and today, they're definitely past the time limit for the Tower of Hanoi to work its terrible virtual magic, and yet she's seen nothing to indicate one way or the other. It's all getting on her nerves.]

And, well the explanation sets off even more alarms. Sure it sounds not too different than he does every day, but the roads weren't so bad that being "snowed in" was a worry.]

Around and about
After hearing the introduction from The Lady, he'll be sitting in the lobby flipping through his tablet. First he reads through the rules, which seem reasonable enough, and he makes sure to commit them to memory. Next come the profiles, which are a bit longer, and sort of....weird.
He stops on his own profile for a moment, and looks vaguely uncomfortable at the information he is reading. After a few seconds he flips off of it, and closes the program entirely. That's enough of that.
Next he resists the urge to go gorge himself on food, instead choosing to go to the doors to the ski area and look outside at the snow. He seems a bit distressed at how snowy it is, but not nearly as anxiety-riddled as he had been before.]
We're really stuck here for a while, aren't we?
[Ah, but at least there's food. Which is why, later in the day, he can be found in the restaurant stuffing his face. The profile did not lie, this kid can pack away that food.]
((OOC: as a note, he's wearing a black suit, minus the coat, with a black hoodie over it. Said hoodie is a couple sizes too large for him, and he's got the hood up right now. Maybe he's cold?))

PROFILE PARADE
[If you walk into the lobby at some point later in the day, you'll likely see Blue Angel in her full cotton candy glory planted by one of the tables next to the fireplace, all a-glow with firelight and the brightness of everything else about her. She's doing her best to be eyecatching, which is basically what her all of her is for. Stop and listen?
First of all, she's going to place her tablet down on the nearest table and slap her hand down on it, in case everything else wasn't enough.]
I think we've all had time to look at our tablets by now. There's profiles of everyone. I don't really understand everything in them, and I'm sure I'm not alone, but that's not the important thing!
This isn't a normal hotel. I'm sure you've all realized that. But on top of that, they know things they shouldn't, and they're broadcasting all of it. Who do they think they are? No matter where we are, that can't be legal!
[There's a pause, and then a small 'hmph!' where she crosses her arms.]
... I don't care what my profile says. If I have something to hide, it's for safety and privacy. That's just common sense. I don't usually answer unscheduled questions, but if you have a problem with that, then I might make an exception. Just this once.
