Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

INTRO LOG

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.

Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.

There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...

Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.

So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.



((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.

This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

[Probably none of them did something, specifically, to deserve this -- but either they all just have really shitty luck or a few bad apples with the most terrible karma known to mankind are dragging the rest of them down with them. Wonder which it is. Hm.]

I'm getting the feeling the staff aren't going to be helpful for much, besides feeding us and changing the sheets.

[So far they haven't even done those two things.]

But we can try that and see what they do.

[At this point it's just experimentation to see how crazy the place gets. She might try to poke into the tablets a bit on her own, but that's a side project.]

Yeah— you're probably right, especially with how evasive they have been with answering questions too.

[the staff has been so useless and if she wasn't so concerned about keeping a low profile, she would have compelled them on the spot to give her answers or just threatened bodily harm. technically the only reason she hasn't yet is because they know about vervain and in turn they know what she is so for now she has refrained from doing that] If it doesn't work— I wonder if we have someone here that can hack it or is good with technology?

[Blue Angel herself could be pushed into really pushing the staff the more frustrated she gets -- she has her own means of pursuing things, but it will also take a good deal more to really get her on that bandwagon. It's all you, Katherine.

In terms of technology, though... She does look a bit thoughtful about it.]

I don't know about that, but we should probably ask around. I only know the basics, but it's obvious that some of this information would have needed hacking or advanced technology from our hosts.

Oh yeah, I have no doubt that is how they got some of this information even if we don't know why they did it but I'm sure it is part of the reason we all ended up here too.

[she looks in thought for a moment though before she continues] I don't know anything beyond the basics either but yeah asking around is a good idea.

All right. There's a lot of us, so having it be a job for two people is better than one. I don't know if we're really going to be here as long as they seem to want us to be, but I'd rather not.

[This place is creepy and Big Brother-ish enough that she isn't real into it, even minus all of the really creepy news that's starting to trickle in.]
