Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.
Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.
There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...
Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.
So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.
((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.
This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

That's how they addressed me, though...
Besides, I don't mind it. People can call me whatever makes them happy!
no subject
[As evidenced by the fact that she has two. Eventually four.
She might be a little bit of an extreme case here, but Blue Angel is someone who despite her divided identity is still pretty attached to both of them as extensions of herself, so she's. Being stubborn about this too? What kind of an attitude is 'I'll change my name to make people happy'? Gosh.]
What do you want to be called?
no subject
Gosh, I don't know. I've never really been asked that before.
[He is the ultimate doormat, this is new territory.]
no subject
... Well, I'm asking you now.
There has to be something. I can't just keep calling you 'you' or 'Garbo-Trash'.
no subject
My big bro calls me Nanashi...?
no subject
Nanashi it is, then. It's nice to meet you. You can call me Blue Angel.
[It's still not Aoi. Not yet.]

[Is she just putting this out there on the regular now to see what kind of reaction it gets? Maybe. Maybe she's given up for the moment on making sense of it and is just going with the flow.]
no subject
[Because who would actually be their avatar ahahaha...]
no subject
[She'll always accept compliments on Blue Angel, unless you're a creeper who likes to dig up people's backstories and mess with their minds. But surely there aren't too many of those here. Surely.]
I've put a lot of work into her, even though I've improved my programming since then... [...] We don't really use our avatars outside Link VRAINS, no. I never logged out before I came here.
[¯\_(ツ)_/¯]
no subject
Link Vrains?
[What's that.]
no subject
... No one here has heard of it, huh? [it's still a little odd to her, but getting less odd as they go on, superseded by hotel odd] Link VRAINS is the virtual reality I came from. We use the game space to duel, but it's capable of a lot more than that.
no subject
So like... some kind of app for the BitPhone?
[When future technologies clash.]
no subject
It's a lot more than an app. I'm going to guess a BitPhone is a type of smartphone you're using?
[It's fine, we're fine, let's just have a Digital Age pow-wow here.]
no subject
[That's a word, right? Wait, more importantly--]
You don't have a BitPhone? Seriously?
no subject
[Herself included, though obviously she doesn't... have hers with her at this point. Avatar, Nanashi. Technologyception can only go so far here.]
And I've never heard of that brand.
no subject
It's not just a brand... Everyone's obligated to have one. Stores all your personal info along with your government-issued ID...?
no subject
No, we have nothing like that. A lot of things have been digitized, but there's still some personal information and IDs in different systems.
no subject
Where are you from?
no subject
no subject
Everyone in Japan should be using them by now.
[So it's not just a matter of some insulated area...]
no subject
[Because she'd know by now if anyone else here were from Den City. It's not exactly hard to tell in this crowd.]
There's definitely something strange going on here.
[The confusing, blobby elephant in the room.]
no subject
[As you do.]
But there's no way anyone in Japan couldn't have heard about BitPhones.
[So that leaves....?
?????]
no subject
[It's just her idle reaction while she processes that. That... does explain some things! Like his all of him. The shut-in culture runs deep. But it's not like she's going to judge -- she isn't nearly as social as she appears, after all.]
... If you're implying that there are different Japans now, I-- That's way too complicated!
