Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

INTRO LOG

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.

Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.

There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...

Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.

So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.



((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.

This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

Okay no but really, it's an entire skeleton, but disconnected. this is a pile of bones, my dude.]

[No but really, Archimedes probably heard someone mention "doctors" and led Medic this way]

What's going on here?

[but Akira hasn't checked the profiles yet, so he doesn't recognize Medic as. . . uh. a medic immediately]

Ah-- [hoists up the bag o' bones] We need a doctor, or someone who knows anatomy. Do you know if there are any here?

[Medic, completely adorned with red crosses like a fucking ad campaign for medicine: no what the fucks a doctor]

I'm certainly at least one of those!

[OKAY, LOOK. . . . . . . FAIR]

[squints at him for a moment, before wordlessly passing him the bag o' bones]

Ah--

[jerks a thumb at Yoshi and Roxas]

A little discretion wouldn't hurt.

[Medic takes one look inside the bag and just grins like it's Smissmas morning.]

What lovely specimens! Where'd you get these?

[Medic has never heard of discretion in his entire life. Before Akira even finishes his sentence he's dumping the bag on the nearest flat surface so he can get a better look at them all.]

[. . . THAT ISN'T DISCRETION!!!!]

Ooooor you could do. . . that.

[just. presses a hand against his face, oh my god]

[plants his hands on Yoshi's shoulders and turns him away]

anyway,the first thing that will strike medic is that these bones have been lovingly cleaned. They've been whitened, brightened - they are a damned good set of bones.

It's such a shame, then, that The skull and Sternum are damaged, though he'll have to un-pile the skeleton to see it more clearly.]

Someone cares about these bones quite a lot! Or wanted to get rid of most identifying features, and prevent the flesh from rotting. One or the other. [Medic crouches on the ground and starts sifting through this pile of bones, bare-handed. Archimedes helps too, fluttering to the ground and dragging lighter bones out of the way. He's gonna check out the skull first; particularly because he wants to see how old the victim might be, and he wants to get an idea of the damage it's in.]

How to say this.

The skull has major damage. actually, it looks like part of the skull cap just got blown the fuck off. Medic will be able to gauge that whoever this was got hit full on with something akin to a shotgun.

As for age - physical age, or how long it's been bones?]

[ So, that's fun.

Roxas is about to say something when he notices that uh... they don't look like toy bones. He's just going to start quietly wondering why there's real human bones underneath someone's bed in a place like this and honestly look a little (hahaha) haunted nbd. ]

[Akira's managed to maintain a calm and neutral demeanor, but his gaze flickers towards Roxas curiously, to see how he's reacting]

[he doesn't say anything, but he's trying to make sure he isn't freaking out]

[ He is not about to faint despite looking a little pale, but he does look like he's mildly just not having a good time, and his eyes flicker back over to the marks on the wall. His hands are also clenched tightly into fists, but he's just... not really able to find any words to say at the moment. ]
