Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.
Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.
There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...
Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.
So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.
((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.
This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

Around and about
After hearing the introduction from The Lady, he'll be sitting in the lobby flipping through his tablet. First he reads through the rules, which seem reasonable enough, and he makes sure to commit them to memory. Next come the profiles, which are a bit longer, and sort of....weird.
He stops on his own profile for a moment, and looks vaguely uncomfortable at the information he is reading. After a few seconds he flips off of it, and closes the program entirely. That's enough of that.
Next he resists the urge to go gorge himself on food, instead choosing to go to the doors to the ski area and look outside at the snow. He seems a bit distressed at how snowy it is, but not nearly as anxiety-riddled as he had been before.]
We're really stuck here for a while, aren't we?
[Ah, but at least there's food. Which is why, later in the day, he can be found in the restaurant stuffing his face. The profile did not lie, this kid can pack away that food.]
((OOC: as a note, he's wearing a black suit, minus the coat, with a black hoodie over it. Said hoodie is a couple sizes too large for him, and he's got the hood up right now. Maybe he's cold?))

[ Not that she's exactly fond of the idea, evident in her voice, but she's trying not to sound angry or frustrated about it. ]
By the way, the guest list said that you like Yokohama. Are you from there too?
[ This is apparently the thing we're focusing on here. ]

And Yokohama is a safe conversation topic, so.]
It is, yes. I have lived there for about six years now. Even though I wasn't born there, I consider it home.
Are you from there as well?
no subject
It's a pretty nice place. And... yeah, I am. Born and raised, actually. What exactly do you like about it, though?
[ Just out of curiosity. ]
no subject
I suppose that might be true of any city large enough, but...well, I suppose it's natural to be attached to your home.

Makoto walks in, a little surprised to see just him there. Especially since she can't remember the last time she ate. And so, she sits near him, setting her ipad slightly to the side.]
How is the food...?
no subject
Ahhhh, well, I can't complain. It's better than anything I could cook.

[... though it did say in his profile he was a hungry boy]
no subject
[Don't ask him how he can tell the difference between a wild rat and a pet rat.]
And probably fed well enough that they won't go getting into our food. Well, unless one wants to be a chef, I guess.

I'm glad we got shelter... but I was joking when I said this was like the set up to a mystery anime.
[A sigh.]
But... for them to make these profiles and note our statuses as alive like that....
[Tsumugi trails off. It's concerning. And very, very, very familiar. She's not sure if she should be offended or what. The swirl of emotions going on right now is hard to decipher.]
no subject
Ah....maybe they meant it as a reassurance? Like 'hey, everybody made it!'
[Yeah no, he doesn't believe that. But he is trying to reassure Tsumugi.
Also he is still wearing that scarf she gave him, even if he changed outfits.]
no subject
Yeah... it could be that...
[She doesn't sound like she believes it though. Another sigh.]
... but it just seems plain ominous to me.
[For multiple reasons.]

We did walk all day. That deserves a good meal, I think. We need to keep our energy levels up.
no subject
Right. But, I have a feeling if there was an eating competition or something, you'd probably win it.

[Hi Atsushi, better get that thing put away before Garbo-Trash sees.]

You're right. We're better off than we were, and that's an improvement.

Hey hey. What are you doing out here?

I was just watching the snow fall, that's all. It's pretty peaceful, isn't it?
no subject
Yeah, it is. It's kind of lonely.
