INTRO LOG

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.

Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.

There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...

Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.

So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.

((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.

This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

Oh, so you're like Le Chien! I think he didn't really know about nicknames before I met him, so I'm trying to get him used to them. Don't worry, Debbie, you'll fall in love with your nickname!

Sure, that's fine! Everyone in the Clock Tower calls me that.

[ a pause ]

Well, except the Professor and my classmates. They usually drop the genius or call me things like dumbass or something like that.

[and he did just take a closer look at the likes on that profile

[ he puffs his chest, very proud of himself. none of that keeping it a secret thing! ]

I'm Flat Escardos, a magus of the El-Melloi School! My professor is none other than the Great Big Ben London Star himself!!!

And, uh.

[Yeah, he wouldn't have expected an Association mage to be that open about it. And while that by itself would be all kinds of shocking...]

It says here that you like... Berserker?

That's my Servant!

[ and that's when he raises his right hand to show off his command seals! ]

At first I had thought that the Professor had given me a catalyst to summon them, but it had actually been a toy. Pretty neat, huh?

[Staring at those command seals, completely flabbergasted.]

But... how is that possible? The Holy Grail War ended just a few months ago, so there's no way another one has started!

[Not to mention they kind of destroyed the Grail, but details.]

[ flat stays silent for a moment, as if playing connect the dots in his head. and then-- ]

Oh, you were with Tohsaka? She was totally famous for that one Grail War that happened in Japan some years ago, and the Professor even helped dismantling it! But that was over there-- this one's in the United States!

...Years?

[That's not possible. It shouldn't be possible.]

I don't understand. I mean, yeah, I was there for the Grail War in Fuyuki, but... it wasn't years ago, only three months.

Nope, it's been years now, trust me. I was around 15 when that happened, and now I'm almost 20.

I'm still the same age, though. Even if I'd somehow forgotten about five whole years passing, I should look older.

Eh? Is that really so important?

[ flat tilts his head, legitimately curious ]

Of course it's important! It means there's something weird going on here.

[As to what that could be, Shirou can't even begin to hazard a guess.]

[...Wait, stop everything, that sure sounded like something really important being said.]

Wait, did you say you're almost 20?

Yep! I'm 19!
