Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

INTRO LOG

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.

Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.

There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...

Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.

So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.



((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.

This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

Please! Your words of praise honor me greatly, but what sort of hero would I be if I were not adept at all matters of aid! Oftentimes, those who require the most help do not need it because of some dastardly villain has sought to wrought out their possessions and livelihood. Nay, they require it because of some act of nature that is far beyond the capabilities that any one man may be able to prevent on his own. Even the foulest criminal is no match for the terror that a single snowstorm may bring. In fact, for all the beauty and tranquility that nature may bring, it may be the most menacing force imaginable.

So I must insist, please allow me to put my skills to use for you. My skills are just as useful outside of combat, where they were honed to perfection just as my blades were.

[The Staff member....twitches, a little. Not in fear, just as if they were a touch worried about something.

But the moment passes, and they shake their head.]

This is a place of rest for our Guests. If we asked them to take care of a task that was meant for us, then would it not be remiss for us as their hosts to ask for their help? If it is your glory as a hero, then it is our honor as innskeepers to provide for any who come under our house and our hospitality!

The other Staff members begin to look at each other nervously.]

Ah, understandable my dear host! I could not bear it if I allowed myself to infringe on your honor as our dear hosts! All I ask if you keep my offer of aid in mind, should you require it!

[ makes another pose ]

Thank you, my liege! If you would -

[It's at this moment that another Staff member quickly comes up, motioning (though distinctly not touching) to the now Chuuni Staff member to come with them.]

- Ah, forgive me, duty calls! Please, enjoy yourself!

[They quickly run off and out of sight.



That Staff member is never seen again.]

Somewhat, yes! Growing up in Regna Ferox did help me learn how to deal with this sort of weather, but it has been a while, after all.
