Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

INTRO LOG

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.

Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.

There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...

Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.

So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.



((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.

This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

Ski Apparel Store

[THERE'S SO MUCH STUFF IN HERE

It has all kinds of ski apparel - boards, skiis, fluffy hats, goggles, you name it. There's also some cute little figures of rats in hats and sweaters on skiis! There's also mugs, mountain calendars (all dated 2019), and some snacks and drinks.

The Staff member on hand smiles at her when she comes in, but doesn't say anything.]

Pool + Jacuzzi

[She's had quite enough of the outdoors after yesterday, so she'll mostly be at the pool, but the jacuzzi itself does manage to draw her outdoors to explore. Not quite enough to get in, but anyway! What exciting things are here?]

A nearby Vase shatters, knocked off of a table in the hallway by apparently nothing at all.]

Outside Courtyard

[The courtyard seems like a good place to start exploring, especially with its central location. Let's see what there is to find here.]

[It's a very nice courtyard! There are a few trees, and a firepit large enough to hold quite a few people around it. It's pretty chilly and snowed in right now due to the blizzard, however. There doesn't seem to be anything else really significant about it, except that it's quite close to the -

Oh, wait - there's an outside Rat run. You know, for the rats.

Oh yes - and if she snoops around, there's a bit of strange fur near the firepit. From a dog, maybe...?]

[He's just going to check out the hotel itself, trying to figure out the number conversion to get some data on the size, the rooms, etc.

He might be doing so with some hot chocolate in hand, if the Staff will let him.]

[The Resort is Larger on the inside than how it looks outside. More than that, if Yoshi stares at the area, he'll find that....

The numbers specifying how big it really is go on forever. There's no defined end to them.

It's almost more like the whole space was made out of infinity rather than infinity spiralling off from a finite space.]

[Well, she may as well grab some food while she's trying to search the place, she's hungry as hell. Anyone else wanna join her?]

[He absolutely will, food is his first concern too, even if he's still huddled in his winter coat. He nods to her pretty peacefully when he walks in after her.

Lobby

[Once Tsumugi is finished nerding out over her room, she reluctantly pries herself away from it to go check out the areas in the lobby she noticed all the rats hanging around. Please tell her there are tiny rat jungle gyms for them to climb around on, because that would be adorable.

But mostly she's just observing them. If any start to wander off toward any one area or room, she might even follow them if seems like they're going somewhere with purpose. If there are any secret nooks and crannies that the staff don't go to, then that would be the perfect place for rats to hide, right?


...... Also the rats are sort of adorable and she's indulging herself in some cute animal watching. Sue her. It was a long day yesterday.]

Investigation: Rats and Empty Rooms

[Once they've had some time to think things over, Medic and Archimedes come to a decision.

Medic will go explore the vacant rooms. Archimedes, meanwhile, will seek out the rats.]

[The Vacant rooms are....well...vacant. There's nothing in any of them that's particularly interesting, except for one, which has what looks like a recently replaced carpet and faint staining on a wall.

The Rats don't really do much beyond run around and do rat things, though they do seem rather happy at seeing new people, and are making little rattish gestures for the new guests to come over and pet them.]

[Trusting your source of food is really a priority, so he's gonna be sneaky snaking all the way to the kitchen to scope that out.

Time for some tactical espionage action.]

Yeah you gotta be careful here. You don't want the carrots to attack you or anything while you're in the kitchen.

Ski Area

[Once he's had his fill of chatting with the staff, Rean is ready to take a look around the resort. And what better place to start than the slopes, apparently? So with tachi in hand, he wanders out, surveying everything from the foot of the hills. While he's not on the lookout for anything in particular, anything unusual (or like, yeti-related) would catch his attention. Anyone else is also free to join him!]

[ What a coincidence! He, too, is not looking for anything in particular and is also on the slopes. Because the ice is nice and packed here so he's not going to fall into it. He's planning on ignoring Rean, but Minerva turns to him and lets out a screech.

Hearing that, he looks at Minerva and then Rean. ]
