WEEK 5 MINGLE

They said it was a break week, but two of your number were lost anyway last week. While you're all tired and still recovering, the speakers crackle to life with the voice of The Lady.
"Attention, Guests. The game is back on. Break week is now over. Happy Holidays."
The Staff are still like they were last week - only this time, the orders almost always go wrong, if they even manage to go through - the Staff are vanishing constantly. Meals are also getting affected - they're still perfectly edible, but they're not as delicious as they once were, with seasoning and other things occasionally being off. The Sign warning people to not take knives is still on the kitchen door, but The Chef seems incredibly tired, often resting on a chair in the corner.
The Resort is still furnished with Holiday items - but after Medic's christmas protest, there are more items related to other holidays up, and it's much more balanced - objects and colors of multiple holidays side by side in harmony, with the mistletoe still up for any needed smooching. There are, however, more wriggling...things, and there's even an entire 'tree' made of eldritch tentacles with glowing balls of light on them that wink in an oddly hypnotic fashion.
The weather is still nothing, but the courtyard seems to have switched to a much warmer clime, which while still a little cool is pleasant enough to sit outside in. Finally, the music this week seems... almost ominous...?
On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone, one more traumatic this time instead of gentle like the others have been. Yet, you feel as if you know a little more about your time in this world, now. Not everything, but...enough.
Enough to see this game through to the end, at least.

He's pale, and can be found mostly in a corner of the restaurant, seating in a chair as close to the wall as possible, as if trying to make himself smaller. There's food in front of him--okonomiyaki this time--but it's thoroughly untouched, so he probably hasn't even realized that it's not as good anymore as it used to be.
Hard to say if he'd even care at this point, because his head is lowered, arms wrapped around himself instead of eating.
SO HOW ARE WE ALL DOING TODAY, FRIENDS]

MEETING... TIME...
Umm... We just need to do this like every week, right...? There's... a lot to talk about this time, I think.
First of all, most of us probably get memories back this week.
...
...Moving on! We found out quite a bit about the resort, so we should probably talk about that, too... And we'll probably need to see if we can talk to the rats at some point this week.
After that, umm... I heard we found the Jorogumo? So we know who all the mafia are now, but we still haven't really resolved things with the mafia. We need a solution for at least one of them before the end of the week, or we'll end up having to kill someone.
As always, if anyone has anything else to discuss, please bring it up.

I am so, so sorry for what happened Saturday night. After all of the work everyone did to help keep me safe, I went and ruined it by leaving my room. It was stupid of me, and I should have just stayed put and asked someone for help instead of going out for food on my own.
What I did was unforgivable, and if anyone does not trust me after this, then I understand. But I'm still going to try and get all of you out of here alive, if I can. I owe that much to all of you, after the trouble I caused.

Well, anyway, he's going to be up in the aquarium a lot, tiredly watching all the fish with a faintly softened expression.
And, if not there, another option is him studying the Eldritch Horror going on. He doesn't seem bothered by it - if anything, he's giving an amused smirk, clearly finding that thing... cool????
He can be found "napping" in various places: animal cafe, soft room... you name it. And, it's very definitely "napping" since it's nothing more than him simply draping an arm over his eyes and lying on his back, somewhere. Usually a table. Sometimes a couch.
Granted, at one point, Vanitas is doing more than just napping in the animal cafe; he's on the floor with a cat napping on him (his stomach, to be exact). He frowns down at it as though this is possibly the top major wonder of the universe - as in, one he can't begin to figure out the Why of. ]

[...Very childish curry.]
...And is it possible to get that made for six or seven?
[A bit later in the day, say, about 12:30, Ellie is sitting in the lobby playing games on her tablet while she waits, actually dressed up for once. By which we mean she's wearing a pink one-piece dress instead of the usual getup she seems to wear every day. After all, she's going on a date. And she is going to do her best to try and ignore any of the other ghosts that are potentially watching because as we all know, all the ghosts here love doing that kind of thing.]

WEDNESDAY
no subject
She looks exhausted. As usual.
Ripley can be found in the restaurant for most of the day, scribbling furiously in her notebook. Her handwriting looks like shit--that's what happens when you can't really use your dominant hand without being in extraordinary pain and when you haven't slept well in days. There are crumpled papers scattered on the table and floor, covered in strange drawings and plans of escape, of improvised weaponry, of extermination. She doesn't seem to pay attention if anyone comes in. Her hands shake as she tears yet another piece of paper from the notebook and crumples it up, wincing slightly.
They're out there somewhere. Those fucking aliens are out there somewhere and she's trapped in here with the rest of these goddamn monsters that no one seems to want to get rid of, which means that even if she escapes she'll have nowhere to go, nowhere to be safe without tracking down those goddamn things and making sure the Foundation never gets their goddamn hands on them.
Later, she can be found in the aquarium, hand smudged with graphite against the cool glass as she watches the fish swim back and forth. The blue light softly illuminates her face.]
Used to love going to the aquarium with Alex and Amanda. [She sighs deeply, pressing her forehead against the glass and startling a school of butterfly fish.] Amanda loves seeing the sea lion shows. Alex always wanted to have a big aquarium back at home, but...we never had the space or time to set it up.
[She closes her eyes, taking a shaky breath and gritting her jaw. She falls quiet.]

callin' for Sol!
After he decides napping is a failure, the afternoon is spent wandering around on the third floor, although he only briefly stops by the aquarium and locked storage room. It's when he gets access to the rock that he sits at a pew in the chapel and tries to solicit some help from their friendly neighbourhood rock child. Ring ring?!]
Um, hello? This is Sol, right?
[In the evening, Rean's at the jacuzzi, although he doesn't seem to be doing anything more than dipping his feet in. It's a still scene, appearing lost in thought as he stares down at his hands, shallow breaths and blinks the only indication that he's anything more than a statue. Despite this, the slightest sign of anyone stepping into the area elicits a sharp turn of the head and a rather intense, focused stare before he blinks and averts his eyes, awkwardly mussing the hair at his nape.]

Sol-san. My name is Ryoga Hibiki, could I speak with you?
[After some conversation of various level of usefulness, guess what's red, green, and black and rolling right into the Lobby? If you guessed a piglet caught up in Christmas decorations, you are absolutely correct!

between the memories which she still refuses to accept along with her healing now working on herself like it should be as evidenced by the bandages still wrapped around her wrist, she was angry and frustrated over everything that happened. she is walking around the resort, casually sipping on her blood bag as she wanders around the resort before eventually making her way to the third floor aquarium where she is just watching as the fish swim behind the glass almost like she has never seen something like this before]

THURSDAY
an early morning message!
Morning, everyone. I know it's probably a little early and some of you guys are tired from box puzzle hell but I did promise that I was going to share a few details about what happened yesterday, so please expect some tl;dr! Also if anybody wants a handwritten copy of the stuff in here just in case, feel free to visit 121, I'll be in there pretty much all day.
Anyway, as some of you might have surmised based on public conversations yesterday, we actually ran into the oil creature yesterday, who holding a bunch of papers. One of them dropped from the stack, which I picked up and it read this:
"If you want to get to The Outsider, you'd better get inside this thing's room.
-34"
Which is why we decided to head up to the room - it's room 202, for the record - and we found some notes. You probably already saw the one regarding the storage, so I'll talk about the other one. There were documents from The Resort itself, most of them being storage inventory, apparently? The numbers fluctuated around six months ago. A lot of information that we already knew, but there's your confirmation.
And then there were more notes, probably from the Lady, I assume, and it read this:
"Things are getting worse. It's getting harder to get the correct items from our surroundings, and pain is beginning to be easily felt by all of The Staff. The Captain isn't here anymore - I hope he's not gone for good, but...it may be that we simply can't expend the energy for him anymore.
The Staff was already off, but now....how much longer can we keep this up? We've received some help from The Guests, but...
Ah...it's so hard to think anymore. I just want to sleep...but I can't...I'm not made for sleep...And we have to keep going. I know [INCOMPREHENSIBLE RUNES] is worried about us, and -
can't someone help us? please?
Get him out of our head -"
And that's pretty much it! Also, heads up as a warning: Don't steal the oil creature's shit, it's like a huge monster oil cat and will probably kill you if you don't return what's stolen. That especially goes for the Phantom Thieves in this Resort.
Source: me, because I almost died a second time yesterday.
Anyway, chat's open for discussion, questions, anything else you guys want to bring up, etcetra.

A part of him feels stupid for letting it affect him this badly. Hell, it wasn't even that much, really. Others probably had it worse than him.
But at the same time it just wore him down after everything else that's happened, and he's been finding it hard to motivate himself to do anything.
Eventually he goes to the Animal Cafe, as if an attempt to get him out, but he spends most of the time staring at his now cold cup of tea.
He eventually speaks, technically to nobody, but within easy earshot of anyone near the cafe.]
Do you ever feel like... no matter how hard you try, fate keeps reminding you that everything you do is pointless?
