WEEK 2

With the nature of this 'game' out, the resort might not look so welcoming anymore. The staff are still ready to jump in and serve guests in any way they can, provided a request doesn't make them short-circuit, and the resort itself seems as warm and cheery as usual. But everyone knows the truth now. This resort is hiding some pretty big secrets, and it's only a matter of time before someone else turns up dead.

The weather is holding steady, at 'cold but still safe for outdoor activities'. The temperature seems to be dipping lower each day, though, and the previously-blue sky is starting to stay grey more often than not. Could that signal an approaching snowstorm? Who know. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. But it might not be enough to put everything together yet, that might take some more time.

Most importantly, everyone needs to get to know each other. This 'game' is one of 'know your enemies', and your very survival depends on knowing when someone is acting odd.

That's... that's not what I meant. I was asking about the dreams.

[There's a significant pause before she replies. Ripley's expression wavers ever so slightly.]

You've been having dreams? What of?

...I'd rather not talk about it. But people were all having the same dream last week, so I was wondering if that was the case again.

[Ripley's eyebrows knit together in an expression of...worry?]

I have a feeling we're missing the bigger picture, here. These 'dreams' may not be 'dreams' so much as memories.

Yeah. That might be possible.

[He looks a little worried about it himself.]

Then...did only some people "remember" being in a lab again?

Did anyone see a lady with red hair in their dreams?

[His eyes widen.]

Yeah! There was a woman called Red.

...No, not really. But the people there were jerks.

I don't think they were all the same this time, actually. I did have one, though...

I had a dream! I think I was bummed out by a mission, but there were really soft kittens to pet! Which is strange, because I never got to pet kittens in my world.

[ Hmmm ]

A... mission?

Yup! It was a bummer and I was wearing this orange jumpsuit.

Really? There was a cat in mine too. But it was...a ghost cat? Maybe? It was only half of a cat.

[ Omg the half cat. ]

Yeah! I remember being worried about scaring them because they ball up. They were so soft and we played a lot.

[ And then she'll frown. ]

I wonder if they are okay?

Of course you'd get kittens.

[It isn't said with any rancor, though. Considering this morning, Cinque can have her kittens.]

I was trying to work on some kind of computer. It might have been a mission, too -- same orange jumpsuit with the weird logo.

[She's just. Not going to go into details unless she has to. Because the details sure are a thing.]

I think they were my favorite part about whatever I was doing or going through.

[ She smiles at the memory. ]

I hope they were real and that I can see them again.

Oh! Do you know if Gerome and Owain were involved? I know in my dream they were off on the front lines for... something. I don’t know what, I just know they were off somewhere and I was taking care of critters instead of going off with them.

I don't remember thinking about them. Maybe it'll come in another dream?

[ Hmm. Now for something more important! ]

What critters were you taking care of?

[ After the other people share their dreams, Kohaku figures he has nothing to really lose by coming out with his as well. ]

Orange jumpsuit, yeah. They refused to give me a violin. Literally just any violin, too.

[ But now, he has his. Or he thinks it is his. It's weird. ]

Chu-Chu borrowed a pen in my dream.

That seems different from what everyone else has been saying.

It does seem a little different.

I did, but there wasn't that much to it. I was just going through a morning routine, although I think that's because I was waiting for some paperwork to get done.
