WEEK 2

With the nature of this 'game' out, the resort might not look so welcoming anymore. The staff are still ready to jump in and serve guests in any way they can, provided a request doesn't make them short-circuit, and the resort itself seems as warm and cheery as usual. But everyone knows the truth now. This resort is hiding some pretty big secrets, and it's only a matter of time before someone else turns up dead.

The weather is holding steady, at 'cold but still safe for outdoor activities'. The temperature seems to be dipping lower each day, though, and the previously-blue sky is starting to stay grey more often than not. Could that signal an approaching snowstorm? Who know. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. But it might not be enough to put everything together yet, that might take some more time.

Most importantly, everyone needs to get to know each other. This 'game' is one of 'know your enemies', and your very survival depends on knowing when someone is acting odd.

It was one of a bunch of applications I was trying to work with on a smartphone, but it wasn't responding, so I have no idea what it was for.

It was called... SCP-5832?

Some kind of name, or code, or designation? I don't know what it means either, but there were apparently a lot of this type of 'SCP'. Computer ones.

That seemed to be my job there, yeah... it must have been some kind of AI, because it really hated me. Kind of.

It wouldn't let me in at all! That's not how AIs are supposed to work, right? It's like it was just...

[She makes an aborted gesture and gives up.]

I was pretty frustrated, I remember. It was just being dumb and throwing a tantrum.

It didn't really talk, it was just... secretly sending messages like "Don't go", and stuff when it thought I wasn't looking...

I guess. It was probably locking me out to force me to work on it longer... jeez.

No, that's the way I thought of it -- I mean, it was a phone, and--

[She's definitely taken off guard by the question, because it's a very strange detail to zero in on.]

In the memory I had, that's... what they called me. There were these guys watching me do something, and while they were talking to me, they called me "SCP 6350 1H".

[Weird.]

Well, maybe this SCP designation isn't just computers, or computers aren't the only things the Foundation deals with. Everyone else was talking about other work they did for whatever this was, right?

[She hasn't heard of that many other people who mentioned SCPs, though.]

Was there anything else in your dream that could help us figure out what was going on?

...I don't really mind talking about it, but I'd rather do the rest in private, if that's okay.

Hmm. All right. I don't mind.

[He's the first person who's outright backed away from divulging details, but given some of the content she's heard by now and the first dream? Also the weekend. She'll cut him some slack.]
