WEEK 2

With the nature of this 'game' out, the resort might not look so welcoming anymore. The staff are still ready to jump in and serve guests in any way they can, provided a request doesn't make them short-circuit, and the resort itself seems as warm and cheery as usual. But everyone knows the truth now. This resort is hiding some pretty big secrets, and it's only a matter of time before someone else turns up dead.

The weather is holding steady, at 'cold but still safe for outdoor activities'. The temperature seems to be dipping lower each day, though, and the previously-blue sky is starting to stay grey more often than not. Could that signal an approaching snowstorm? Who know. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. But it might not be enough to put everything together yet, that might take some more time.

Most importantly, everyone needs to get to know each other. This 'game' is one of 'know your enemies', and your very survival depends on knowing when someone is acting odd.

Funny. I sure didn't feel like I was a prisoner. Felt more like I was willingly doin' somethin' important for 'em.

[Ripley raises an eyebrow at that. She felt the same during her memory--knowing that the machine would only allow her to work on it, while others had came out dead or heavily mutilated.

...But she's not going to discuss it here. Instead, she just gives Iwai a curt nod. Just so he knows.]

You didn't, huh? [Hrrnnhhgh] Strange, it felt like I was trying to escape.

I don't think I wasn't. I was checkin' weapons and equipment for people goin' in missions. Used to go in them too.

I was helping bring down fatalities by seven percent lower already since I started workin'. Kind of a feat, I guess. Was aiming to bring the number even lower.

Seven percent, huh? Well done.

Makes you wonder what kind of fatalities you were preventing, and what those missions were.

I dunno the details. Maybe I'll remember them at some point.

[But it was dangerous and people were going to die. Can't be pleasant stuff]

What I wonder is why I was the one doin' this. It's not like I have special qualifications or anythin'. Why was I workin' for anyone in the first place?

I wouldn't say prisoner. I remember something about 'agents', and not just about me.

[Otherwise, he'd attribute it just to his status as Solid Snake.]

Who knows? Maybe they're just using a different word for it.
