Week 2 Mingle

WEEK 2

With the nature of this 'game' out, the resort might not look so welcoming anymore. The staff are still ready to jump in and serve guests in any way they can, provided a request doesn't make them short-circuit, and the resort itself seems as warm and cheery as usual. But everyone knows the truth now. This resort is hiding some pretty big secrets, and it's only a matter of time before someone else turns up dead.

The weather is holding steady, at 'cold but still safe for outdoor activities'. The temperature seems to be dipping lower each day, though, and the previously-blue sky is starting to stay grey more often than not. Could that signal an approaching snowstorm? Who know. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Another piece to the puzzle, one step closer to finding the truth of this place. But it might not be enough to put everything together yet, that might take some more time.

Most importantly, everyone needs to get to know each other. This 'game' is one of 'know your enemies', and your very survival depends on knowing when someone is acting odd.

It was just...a sort of ritual. Lots of drums and some sort of chanting. I remember that I was really interested and wouldn't stop watching.

[ flat pauses, trying to focus on any details. ]

Then...this man asked me what I thought about it, so I tried to explain it to him, but I guess he just didn't understand me. He looked at me weird and then just wrote down some notes.

That sounds like one of those old rituals that they'd do in a place like this. You know, far away from everything else.

[And possibly just far removed from the world she knows -- the glittering tech world of the present -- in general. Which kind of clashes with her visions of the Foundation, actually.]

Do you remember what the guy looked like?
escardos: (douze.)

[personal profile] escardos 2018-12-07 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
I don't. But I remember what he asked me, exactly.

[ he pauses, and then repeats, just like in his dream. ]

"What did you think about the ritual for the SCP?"
latebluemer: (バサッ)

[personal profile] latebluemer 2018-12-07 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
So the drums were the ritual for... whatever SCP designates.

[She's starting to think it's a whole class of things, the more she hears about it. But it's baffling. What do people, possibly some kind of ancient spirit or deity, computers, and so on have in common?!]

Did you actually see what it was?
escardos: (quatre.)

[personal profile] escardos 2018-12-07 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
Nope. I don't even know if I got an explanation either! [ he sighs ] Does Appy know anything about this sort of thing?
latebluemer: (えっ)

I haven't had a chance to ask him about it yet. The dream kind of... distracted me until now.

[And there hasn't been a lot of time in between.]

But it might be a good idea to ask him.
