WEEK 4

The weekend that just passed was....frankly, a lot. Yet despite all odds, you somehow pulled out a win from the jaws of utter defeat. As you wake up feeling tired but happy, the speakers crackle to life with the voice of The Lady.

"Attention, Guests. This week, The game is temporarily suspended. This week, there will be no mafia kill. Take a break for your hard work."

And...indeed, it seems like this is a peace week. The Staff, after the disappearance of The Captain, are acting worse than they did last week - not only is there the blankness and the stuttering, but sometimes they even get orders wrong, with potentially hazardous results. Asking the Staff for things has become more dangerous and unreliable, but at least you meals are still good. Speaking of, The Chef has put a sign up on the door, reading "DO NOT TAKE KNIVES WITHOUT ASKING FIRST!! THAT MEANS YOU!!" written in big, angry letters. The resort also seems to be gearing up for Christmas - there are lights and trees scattered around the place, as well as mistletoe for couples to get their public displays of affection on. There's also some other holiday decorations around, for Kwanzaa and....something else you definitely have never seen before. The thing....wriggles, and you don't want to be around it for long.

The weather is still nothing, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Are you getting closer to the truth of this place, maybe? It's hard to say.

[So if anyone goes to the courtyard today, they will find a lot of ash and blackened wood in a pile in the middle of it.]

[ Owain headed towards the courtyard and he pauses when he sees the pile of ash and blackened wood. Curious, he makes his way towards it, taking a closer look ]

[So ever since Phil's stunt on Sunday, Ripley has been going back on forth on using that...thing that the Staff gave her a few weeks back. His potion worked, so why shouldn't this one? But then, if her potion worked, that would imply a whole mess of things that Ripley isn't exactly willing to get into right now.

...

Fuck it. She downs the potion and waits for the effects to settle in. It's not like she's got anything to lose, right?

You might see her just...sitting in the library in a stupor for about an hour or so. It's fine.]

For at least a minute or so after she drinks it, nothing happens. But then, a tentative voice speaks up in her mind:]

It is strange for someone to contact me in this method. Did you need something?

[Interestingly enough, while the 'mind voice' has no specific voice, it will feel warm and comforting, like Ripley is having a conversation with her father, or an older authority figure she respects and loves.]

[honestly, she's stuck staring at the sign on the kitchen door, at some point today.

sure, she already looked like shit, despite her decision to go from "nice girl" to "punk rock" looks. but.

uh. yeah, ok she's gong to break down crying at that one.

[ This ghost is instantly recognizable by the bunny hoodie at least. When he spots Makoto there, he walks over and crouches by her side, patting her on the back. Are you ok...? ]

[coming up next to her, reaching out to touch her arm gently. he's letting her cry it out; he mostly wants her to understand she isn't alone]

If people pay attention, throughout the day, they'll notice that some of the Christmas decorations are taken down. The Kwanzaa and weird eldritch holiday ones are left alone, and so are the lights and mistletoe, but some of the red-and-green shit is targeted and replaced with blue, white, and gold.

There's also a metric fuckton of stars of David everywhere now. And a single Menorah at the front desk- a very... interesting one, since he had to ask the staff for all this, but it's here. There's a stickynote on it.]

I know Hanukkah ended last week, but really >:/ I didn't even see a dreidel last week but of course we celebrate the baby Jesus in the murder resort

[Phil is in the library, doing completely normal things when he sees some invisible force taking all the Santa figure from this place.]

I'm guessing you don't like the decorations huh Medic?

[Phil knows Medic too well to not instantly realize who's doing this.]

[Eyeing up that Menorah and looking around for the spirit of Medic.]

[ Owain has felt unstoppable since yesterday. Defeating the Barghest once and for all has left a thrum of energy to run through his body. He feels like he’s definitely leveled up a lot since arriving at the Resort. But he knows that the end isn’t in sight yet. There’s too much that can’t be accounted for yet. Owain knows that he can always count on his swords, but there needs to be something more there. He approaches the Staff with requests. Simple, but effective at making him even strong.

He’s careful, this time, as he gets his items. He watches them, and nods when only one of them is rushed off. Better…

Owain can be found in the dojo. He’s got some sort of circular object in hand, glowing with a bright light. Light sparkles around him before he proceeds to throw it into the air. It floats momentarily, spinning rapidly before lightning (what is it with this boy and lightning?) shoots down and strikes him, encasing him in bright light.

When the light fades, Owain stands there, now dressed in the clothes of the Dread Figher. An ominous, red glow surrounds him now as he looks at his new outfit. ]

This is where the legend of Owain Dark truly begins!

[ Later, Owain is still in the Dojo. Absent are the swords he typically carries around. Right now, he only has a Bronze Axe and a… yellow book. Presently, the axe is set to the side. He opens the book with a dramatic flair and begins reading outloud, chanting. Light begins to form circles around him before a small ball of electricity forms at his hands ]

Thunder!

[ He shoots the ball at a training dummy before nodding, satsified. ]

Man, I should have started learning how to use tomes ages ago!

[ BRB gonna go pick up that axe. ]

Minato mostly ends up peeking in because of the light show, but he's... still not sure what he's looking at.]

[ That's incredible, and the sight gets Roxas to stare in awe as the lightshow happens as it does before his eyes when Owain does his class change just like that. ]

...That's amazing. What's all that supposed to do, though?

Or... is this a mid-season power-up? Owain-kun does have the air of a shounen protagonist...

MEETING TIME

[Well, I guess this time it's my turn to call the meeting together.]

Okay, everyone, uh... a lot happened these past few days, hasn't it? There's a lot we need to talk about today...

First of all... Did everyone else get some more memories back today? I know our memories ended up mostly matching last week, so I assume they did this time, too. In which case... It's probably best if we have Szayelaporro take charge for a bit and let him tell us whatever he can.

Next, I think we're still planning to start exploring the vents? We'll probably want to figure out who's going to be part of that, especially since it's probably going to be dangerous.

Third, there's the issue with the Monsters. It seems like each of them has their own goals here, and if we can figure out what they are, we might be able to find a way to take control of the situation.

Finally, we need to figure out what we're going to do about The Outsider. At the very least, he seems to be harming the resort, though he doesn't seem to be aware of it. We're not sure what his goals are beyond "escaping", and how much of what he's saying is the truth, but he is giving us information, even if it's mostly for his own benefit. Still, we should probably pool together as much information as we can about him. I think someone mentioned they know what he looks like?

...Um... Did I miss anything? Does anyone else have something to bring up? I think I got the main ones, but I might have missed something...

Prince Alfie has been talking to me and Jojo- the Spider. He will share everything that he knows. After that, I can answer any questions people might have about Doppel.

[ And then looking over at Ryoga and Owain ]

[Ripley raises her hand. She came here with a critical mind and she's...got issues with many parts of this.]

Before we continue, I'd like to say I have issue with Syazel being put in charge. He's a ghost--he has no reason to help us because he's dead. Besides, I don't trust putting a guy in charge who was the one who told us to come here in the first place.

[She crosses her arms, frowning deeply.] As for the vents, I feel that it's best for the adults to handle that one. From a logistic standpoint, we've had more experiences dealing with intense situations than you all have--no offense--and I don't want any of you guys risking your lives.

...Finally, I have reason to believe that the monsters here aren't the main threat to us.
