WEEK 4

The weekend that just passed was....frankly, a lot. Yet despite all odds, you somehow pulled out a win from the jaws of utter defeat. As you wake up feeling tired but happy, the speakers crackle to life with the voice of The Lady.

"Attention, Guests. This week, The game is temporarily suspended. This week, there will be no mafia kill. Take a break for your hard work."

And...indeed, it seems like this is a peace week. The Staff, after the disappearance of The Captain, are acting worse than they did last week - not only is there the blankness and the stuttering, but sometimes they even get orders wrong, with potentially hazardous results. Asking the Staff for things has become more dangerous and unreliable, but at least you meals are still good. Speaking of, The Chef has put a sign up on the door, reading "DO NOT TAKE KNIVES WITHOUT ASKING FIRST!! THAT MEANS YOU!!" written in big, angry letters. The resort also seems to be gearing up for Christmas - there are lights and trees scattered around the place, as well as mistletoe for couples to get their public displays of affection on. There's also some other holiday decorations around, for Kwanzaa and....something else you definitely have never seen before. The thing....wriggles, and you don't want to be around it for long.

The weather is still nothing, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Are you getting closer to the truth of this place, maybe? It's hard to say.

"us" being the entire world! sometimes you need special tools to do special jobs (・∀・)

I feel like this plan might've gone a lot smoother if we knew why we were here in the first place and if we actually, you know, signed up to be part of the Foundation.

well that's kinda part of what i mean by it being inefficient! or at least he could have trained us a little better!

but then again i don't think szazy was trained at all either, considering how easily he died (；´･Д･)

Maybe he shouldn't have sent literal children to the resort, then!

[Her voice is raised as she talks. Why can't people see what she's trying to say?!]

This foundation or whatever--we have no reason to believe they care about us besides using us as literal bait. Why should we trust the guy who they gave information to, huh?

rippy i'm not saying that he did the right thing!!!!!!! (；´･Д･) i think he's very inefficient in his methods and could definitely improve them! which means that the foundation itself is also very inefficient!!

besides, it's not like the resort had been doing anything wrong before we tried to go in right?

No.

[She closes her eyes, exhaling sharply.]

God, no one should've died. All of this could've been avoided if they'd have just left it alone--!

[She bangs a fist against the table before covering her face with her hands. She's...a little overwhelmed right now.]

[Snake, already standing not far from her, only moves closer at that bang. He doesn’t know what message was sent, but, given the context with what she said —

A hand on her shoulder. A grunt of reassurance.]

I can take it from here.

[Go catch a break, Ripley.]

[She stiffens a little bit, hastily trying to regain her composure. God, she hates this. She draws a shaky breath, her expression hardening.]

I'm fine.

[But she noticeably falls more quiet.]

[The hand is back, and so is the rest of the body it's attached to. Ripley finds herself pulled into a brief, light hug by Medic- quick enough that an onlooker might not notice it even happened. He sticks beside her afterward, arm still loosely wrapped around her.]

[The hug is unexpected. Ripley stiffens up a little, then hastily wipes her face, trying to keep her expression neutral.]

I'm fine, just--just give me some time.

[Said in a slightly wavering voice as she tries to focus on something else--anything else. She doesn't move away from the contact, though.]

[Medic switches to notes, being careful not to let anyone see what he's writing except her.]

I know you'll be fine. That doesn't mean you have to be alone

[He holds her a little tighter, his hand squeezing her shoulder again.]

i didn't get it until i died but he has uh

powers he can use?? i don't know if he could do that when he was alive

unless his body was totally weird even when he was living too!!

that's how he rehydrated makoto so she didn't die right after everyone exorcised her
