WEEK 4 MINGLE

The weekend that just passed was....frankly, a lot. Yet despite all odds, you somehow pulled out a win from the jaws of utter defeat. As you wake up feeling tired but happy, the speakers crackle to life with the voice of The Lady.
"Attention, Guests. This week, The game is temporarily suspended. This week, there will be no mafia kill. Take a break for your hard work."
And...indeed, it seems like this is a peace week. The Staff, after the disappearance of The Captain, are acting worse than they did last week - not only is there the blankness and the stuttering, but sometimes they even get orders wrong, with potentially hazardous results. Asking the Staff for things has become more dangerous and unreliable, but at least you meals are still good. Speaking of, The Chef has put a sign up on the door, reading "DO NOT TAKE KNIVES WITHOUT ASKING FIRST!! THAT MEANS YOU!!" written in big, angry letters. The resort also seems to be gearing up for Christmas - there are lights and trees scattered around the place, as well as mistletoe for couples to get their public displays of affection on. There's also some other holiday decorations around, for Kwanzaa and....something else you definitely have never seen before. The thing....wriggles, and you don't want to be around it for long.
The weather is still nothing, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.
On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Are you getting closer to the truth of this place, maybe? It's hard to say.

Before we continue, I'd like to say I have issue with Syazel being put in charge. He's a ghost--he has no reason to help us because he's dead. Besides, I don't trust putting a guy in charge who was the one who told us to come here in the first place.
[She crosses her arms, frowning deeply.] As for the vents, I feel that it's best for the adults to handle that one. From a logistic standpoint, we've had more experiences dealing with intense situations than you all have--no offense--and I don't want any of you guys risking your lives.
...Finally, I have reason to believe that the monsters here aren't the main threat to us.
no subject
Also: I agree that the monsters aren't the biggest threat to us either, but what's your reasoning behind that thought?

This sounds crazy, but you know that potion that Phil used the other day? I got one of those things, except it let me...commune with a god or something. I thought it was bullshit until Phil showed that his worked, so...I drank it.
[She rolls her eyes.] Said something about the monsters metaphorically being inside us or something.

but that probably explains why he takes so many notes on how we died!
he's been interviewing all of us as ghosts

But more importantly:]
Are... you sure? Things have been changing here a lot... it might be even more dangerous in the vents now.

[She runs a hand through her hair.] I'd rather avoid going into the vents altogether, to be honest.

As I said, I spoke to someone who told me that we should be focused on the monsters within. Metaphorically speaking. [She rolls her eyes.] I'm just the messenger, but I think it's a crock of bullshit.

I agree that Granz-san is probably not the best one to be in charge of the living. We can't do anything about the ghosts. But I don't agree with your reasoning. The ghosts are easier to trust because they're not part of the game. And because they aren't, they also understand some things about this Resort that we don't.
no subject
[She crosses her arms.] I've learned that if we die, they can return home--but at the cost of them dying back home. I don't know if that's anything to note, but why help us if they're just going to die for good anyways?

As for the monsters thing, I agree that they aren't the main threat. Something's happening here, and it seems to be making them act differently from how they would normally. Still, finding out what they're after could give us clues on what the actual main issue is.
[...Why is this meeting turning into a disaster already, it just started... But yes, she does not address the vents issue at all.]
no subject
[She places her hands on her hips, sighing.]
I've already told everyone else--someone warned us about the monster inside us or whatever.

people are talking and that's what's important
you did a good job /(^.^)\

Speaking of monsters... I mean, the Barghest was talking about a lot of culty stuff. So if something changed, it might be because of the dark god they were talking about? I mean, that is basically what happened back home. ...and my dad did actually get a few people from the place where the cult was to come over to our side, but I don’t think Tharja and Henry were as devoted to the whole “summon the dark dragon god to destroy humanity and overrun the world with the undead” thing as the Barghest seemed to be. So I guess it all depends on how committed the Jorogumo and the Doppelganger are to this whole dark god thing.
no subject
[She trusts Cynthia's fighting skills, though.]
We won't be able to tell their motives unless we...you know, ask them. And I don't know if Cinque or whoever the Jorogumo is being possessed by would be willing to speak on those parts.
[A pause.]
The...god I spoke to said he'd like to talk to me again, if we escaped. Do you think that's to be trusted?

I can work with any kind of blade or firearm, though I love knives and dislike swords. I've fought humans, both one-on-one and in large scale raids alongside a rebel group. I'm experienced fighting zombies as well, largely long range as their blood could infect me and cost me my life.
The vents are narrow and that's not my specialty, but I've only survived this long because I'm adaptable. I'll figure out how to be violent against anything, that's my strong spot. [ He grins at that. ]
However, I'm not going in there without a good plan and support group. Taking risks is one thing, but throwing my life away is another.

I won't deny that you guys probably have more experience when it comes to these situations, but... do we actually have a solid plan on how to approach the vents? We're going to need teams for mapping them out, but it'd be good to keep a team on the outside for retrieval and back up just in case.
It also won't really help if we end up hurting the Resort more in the long run, so do we have a method of suppressing their immune system somehow?
no subject
I'm not sure. I figured Ellie would have one, given she was the one who brought it up, but if not, I could come up with something. I was thinking about attaching a line to whoever crawled into the vents for safety reasons. Maybe even have a motion sensor to see if there was anything sneaking up from behind the person in the vents.
[You know. Like in Alien. Before Dallas died.]
Unless we have a gigantic prescription of ibuprofen, I don't think the resort's getting better on its own.
