WEEK 4 MINGLE

WEEK 4

The weekend that just passed was....frankly, a lot. Yet despite all odds, you somehow pulled out a win from the jaws of utter defeat. As you wake up feeling tired but happy, the speakers crackle to life with the voice of The Lady.

"Attention, Guests. This week, The game is temporarily suspended. This week, there will be no mafia kill. Take a break for your hard work."

And...indeed, it seems like this is a peace week. The Staff, after the disappearance of The Captain, are acting worse than they did last week - not only is there the blankness and the stuttering, but sometimes they even get orders wrong, with potentially hazardous results. Asking the Staff for things has become more dangerous and unreliable, but at least you meals are still good. Speaking of, The Chef has put a sign up on the door, reading "DO NOT TAKE KNIVES WITHOUT ASKING FIRST!! THAT MEANS YOU!!" written in big, angry letters. The resort also seems to be gearing up for Christmas - there are lights and trees scattered around the place, as well as mistletoe for couples to get their public displays of affection on. There's also some other holiday decorations around, for Kwanzaa and....something else you definitely have never seen before. The thing....wriggles, and you don't want to be around it for long.

The weather is still nothing, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Are you getting closer to the truth of this place, maybe? It's hard to say.

I am...I think not only are we going to need coordination but we're going to need some teamwork. People who are good at missions, combat, being quick, and stealth are things to really consider too.

We should also be coming up with a plan. I think just randomly rolling into the vents even if we have experience or not will end up going badly without one.

[ Yeah, Roxas is shitty with dealing with authority figures so he's not happy about trying to ... negotiate with the Outsider. ]

That he should get his butt out of where he is because we can end this sooner if that happens. And then...probably tell us more that he's likely not telling us already.

[ Once again, Roxas is not good at talking people down or convincing them (or he thinks he isn't) but he wants to try everything he can to help. ]

Yeah, going in unprepared is just asking for trouble. I think now's the time we need to get a good idea of what everyone's capable of if we really want to pull this off.

We also need to limit the number of people going in there; too many people would just crowd the escape route and make it harder to retreat.

[His eyes widen at Roxas' blunt response, giving way to some surprised laughter and ending in a small coughing fit at the end. After he recovers, there's a faint smile left on his face.]

Yeah. It really would be good if it worked out like that. I'm not entirely sure just how much he's hiding, but we could probably start on that by contacting him privately. It's better than nothing, anyways.

[ Smiling at the laughter there!! Sometimes being so blunt is nice. ]

I think so too. We have a lot of talented people here, and knowing everything someone's capable of could really help us.

I'd say no more than four for the initial amount of people going in? And speaking of the escape route, we're going to really need a few more so that we can secure our exit too.

[ ... ]

We could, yeah. It's worth a try, even if it'd probably be easier trying to talk to and get answers from a pile of rocks than him.

I know people were wary about revealing what they could do in case they were attacked by one of the monsters, but at this point, I think we need to take our chances here. Especially since we have a break from the game right now.

Yeah, four's enough to have a good amount of manpower, but not enough to make things too tough to get out of a tight spot. Having around the same number of people to help with the escape route would be good too.

[Wow. The amount of no faith that Roxas has for the Outsider is pretty funny, actually...]

Haha... Well, you never know. Maybe he'll let something slip.

I think that's definitely a fair thing for people to have been worried about. Things are mostly probably going to be different now, though, since we're all going to be looking for answers, and I have a feeling everyone's going to want to try coming together for that at least.

[ And that's not just Roxas being overly optimistic, it's a realistic enough thought he thinks, especially when it's been revealed just playing along with the game isn't going to be the right way to go about things.

... Roxas is admittedly very salty about what the Outsider did to Ichigo and for being such a bum in general. Part of him does know that he's probably going to be liable to drop details as a possibility...but he's just going to (mostly) shittalk him instead. ]

...If someone who's good at getting people like Outsider to blab reaches out, it can probably happen, even if he's trying hard not to spill the beans.
