MOCK ROUND - WEEK 1
All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.
Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a false murder mystery for two weeks.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?
There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.
Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request, to help ease the boredom of it all.
Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.
Yet, with only a fake game in front of them....there's no proper sense of foreboding, is there?
....But maybe all of this...
...Is just the calm before the storm.

Riku hasn't been entirely super about getting to know people or talk much, but he's always been someone somewhat standoffish. Maybe even moreso now--however, he can be located easily today.
First at the docks, hands in pockets as his green irises gaze out into the endless sea before him, allowing the breeze to gently caress his hair as he allows himself to become lost to thought. Probably not at his most approachable, but he won't turn away company.
Soon afterwards, Riku can be found on the beach, and hearing any footsteps will cause him to slightly turn his head in the direction of the other party. ]
Come out for a dip?
[ Then later on Riku is seen in the ballroom. Ask him for a dance? Okay, no, he's just gazing at portrait now. He's muttering to himself now, rather to anyone in particular. ]
...feels like she's everywhere in this place.

Boo.

... Do you make it a habit of doing things like this?
[ He doesn't look it, but goodness Jack you gave him a fright. ]
no subject
Maaaaybe. Do you make it a habit of staring out at the see all serious like that?
no subject
I wouldn't say it's a habit.

Doesn't she own the mansion? [He asks as he approaches.]
no subject
[ He gives a bit of a shrug. ]
no subject
She mentioned she was training two other witches, right?
no subject
[ At least it does for him. Lambdadelta is already...well, she's made an impression and let's leave it at that. ]

beach!
Oh. Uh... hey there! [since he's been walking downhill, he's not super winded... but he's still going to take a break before going back up] Sorry, I hope I'm not bothering you.
no subject
You're really not. And even if you were, it's not like I own the beach.
[ He almost smiles at that one, hah. ]

[Silver walks through the sand, kicking at it curiously]
The only place I've ever seen this much sand is a desert...
no subject
[ So Riku is just being wary and thoughtful about it. ]
...You've never been to a beach before?

[The ocean. He hasn't seen the real thing in a long time now]
no subject
[ He lived out on the islands, so this kind of view isn't foreign to him in the slightest. ]
You used to looking out at the sea?
no subject
[when he was closer to Riku's age? Yeah. But after he went to Chicago to study then started working? Not so much. And the dungeon had it's waterways but the ocean was something else.]

ballroom
Yeah.
[ There's a small shrug of one shoulder. ]
Not a huge shocker when you consider how she is.
no subject
Still he'll give a nod, and then... ]
How do you feel about her?
no subject
Feel...? I feel like she's probably what you could expect of a really bored person with a lot of power. And the only way we'll get out of this is by being super entertaining for her.
[ And, apparently, she's entertained by a game involving death.
But... hm. ]
What do you think about everything she said about this game?

Do you find the portraits unsettling?
no subject
I wouldn't say that, but...they seem to do well in helping making sure her presence is practically felt everywhere in the mansion.
no subject
Placed in such a way that we always keep her in mind, no matter where she is... [ She carefully regards the painting. ] I admit, that may well be her intention. Portraits are often used by nobility and those with station to impress their status upon all who knock on their door.

I don't think I'd get very far. Do you?
[She shakes her right leg a little. It rattles the chain around her ankle and going up into her cloak.]
no subject
Not like that. [ ... ] But, we can change that if we take a moment to find something to get that chain off.
