MOCK ROUND - WEEK 1

All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.

Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a false murder mystery for two weeks.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?

There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.

Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request, to help ease the boredom of it all.

Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.

Yet, with only a fake game in front of them....there's no proper sense of foreboding, is there?

....But maybe all of this...

...Is just the calm before the storm.

[ He spots him, and walks quietly over. For someone who was all chatter and jokes their first day, he makes nary a sound. It's not until he's actually almost next to him that he reaches out to poke him square in the back. ]

[ Riku is poked in the back and then immediately turns to make a grab for Jack's hand - oh. ]

... Do you make it a habit of doing things like this?

[ He doesn't look it, but goodness Jack you gave him a fright. ]

[ He didn't actually expect to surprise him that much. But he does give a sheepish smile as he put both hands behind the back of his head. ]

Maaaaybe. Do you make it a habit of staring out at the see all serious like that?

[ A small huff escapes him. Though whether it is from annoyance or amusement is hard to discern. ]

I wouldn't say it's a habit.

That's not really denying it either, dude.

[ He's tempted to flick him on the nose... ]

No, I guess not. But, it's not really all that much of a bad habit.

Nah, not really. Just makes you an easy target..

[ He says that with wave of his hand. ]

[ He raises a brow, and then relaxes. ]

I wouldn't say that.

[ He wants to test how well Jack operates under the element of surprises so he'll just suddenly try to push him back with his hands. ]

[ Riku will probably feel it connect, but then Jack is going to cheat. He moves quickly, pivoting to Riku's other side to poke him there. En garde? ]

[ ...elbowing him right after that, though that's less out of severity and more just because he can. ]

Always playing around, aren't you?

[ Look who's talking even if it isn't "always", but too cool to admit it. ]

[ Nudging him back. ]

Who me? I'm always serious.

[ The grin might say otherwise, but the mirth doesn't ever reach his eyes. He does try to give him a push towards the water after that though. ]

[ There's a slight narrow of his eyes because he's not blind to that, and then when Jack does, well. He'll find that Riku will be grabbing right onto him, so...

Hope you also like tumbling into the water with him. ]

Whoa!

[ He doesn't dodge this time. Just going to go down into the water with a big splash.

Rip hair. ]

[ Popping his head out of the water and beginning to climb back onto the dock. It kind of reminds him of when he used to horse around back on the islands, actually. ]

Just remember that you have only yourself to blame for what happened.

[ Wow. Just going to swim to the dock and pull himself up.

And then shake his hair close to Riku. Take that? ]

Here. You can have it back.

[ Look, he's thoughtful? ]

Thanks. Now, I think it's only natural I return the favor.

[ Because rude...he'll just shake his hair right back and guess what? He has more of it. ]

Hey, no. None of that. I demand a refund.

[ Also his clothes feel like they weigh a million pounds. Let's start getting some of it off. ]

[ ... ok.

Riku pauses, but figures taking off his sleeveless jacket can't hurt at least. ]

[ Pauldrons are placed down on top of his cape. They are shiny, but covered in scratches, cuts, and dings in them. Then he's taking off his blazer off. ]

Can I exchange it instead, Mr. Good looking?

[ Yeah, just keep the joke going. ]

Hm?

[ He doesn't expect him to continue the joke, and kind of actually looks embarrassed for a moment, but it disappears just as soon as it came, an expression of amusement coming over his face. ]

No exchanges allowed, unfortunately. That's just the policy.

Hey, what kind of business are you running, anyways.

[ Just going to use his wet cape to aim a playful swat at him. ]

One that's looking not to go out of business, hopefully.

[ He gets freaking swatted with a wet cape and just blinks. ]

...You can't be serious.

[ Riku can't believe he's considering playing around here still, but at the same time Jack's been proving adept at waking up his inner child again. ]

Who me? I'm always serious.

[ Clearly. And to further show it, he'll just toss his cape at his face. ]

[ This time he'll catch it and hold on tight. Careful he might decide to put it behind his back! ]

You've said that before and I didn't believe you then. Not sure if I'm going to believe you now.
