MOCK ROUND - WEEK 1

All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.

Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a false murder mystery for two weeks.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?

There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.

Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request, to help ease the boredom of it all.

Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.

Yet, with only a fake game in front of them....there's no proper sense of foreboding, is there?

....But maybe all of this...

...Is just the calm before the storm.

[ Popping his head out of the water and beginning to climb back onto the dock. It kind of reminds him of when he used to horse around back on the islands, actually. ]

[ Wow. Just going to swim to the dock and pull himself up.

And then shake his hair close to Riku. Take that? ]

[ Look, he's thoughtful? ]

[ Because rude...he'll just shake his hair right back and guess what? He has more of it. ]

Hey, no. None of that. I demand a refund.

[ Also his clothes feel like they weigh a million pounds. Let's start getting some of it off. ]

A little too late for that, isn't it?

[ ... ok.

Riku pauses, but figures taking off his sleeveless jacket can't hurt at least. ]

[ Pauldrons are placed down on top of his cape. They are shiny, but covered in scratches, cuts, and dings in them. Then he's taking off his blazer off. ]

Can I exchange it instead, Mr. Good looking?

[ Yeah, just keep the joke going. ]

[ He doesn't expect him to continue the joke, and kind of actually looks embarrassed for a moment, but it disappears just as soon as it came, an expression of amusement coming over his face. ]

No exchanges allowed, unfortunately. That's just the policy.

Hey, what kind of business are you running, anyways.

[ Just going to use his wet cape to aim a playful swat at him. ]

One that's looking not to go out of business, hopefully.

[ He gets freaking swatted with a wet cape and just blinks. ]

...You can't be serious.

[ Riku can't believe he's considering playing around here still, but at the same time Jack's been proving adept at waking up his inner child again. ]

Who me? I'm always serious.

[ Clearly. And to further show it, he'll just toss his cape at his face. ]

[ This time he'll catch it and hold on tight. Careful he might decide to put it behind his back! ]

You've said that before and I didn't believe you then. Not sure if I'm going to believe you now.

[ Giving it a tug. ]

Wow this lack of faith. It hurts me real deep.

[ Putting a hand over his heart as he says that. ]

I'm sure it does.

[ Jack will find that Riku decided to keep on holding on and give a tug right back. I guess we're doing this now. ]

[ Yup. Tug-a-war with a cape time. ]

Wowee. You don't have any regrets for breaking hearts, huh?

[ That's cold Riku. Despite the acting, there's a tug on the corner of his mouth, and for once a spark of something there in his eyes ]

[ At least it's not too cold and the sun's out, so hanging around in still wet clothing and messing around doing this isn't exactly a pain. ]

Maybe not yours. [ Hah. ] I'm sure you could handle it anyway.

[ Hey, is that a spark of livelihood he sees? Huh. ]

[ Maybe. He'll give it a hard tug before letting go. If it looks like Riku is going to fall over, he will put an arm out to catch him at least. ]

I'll have you know I'm a really sensitive guy.

[ No he isn't. And maybe? Reaching up to try to fix his own hair, and also shield his own expression for a moment. ]

[ The surprise at letting go does almost make him fall over, so good catch Jack. Huh. ]

[ Why're you trying to hide your face eh. ]

[ He's experienced or something. ]

[ Giving a lift of his shoulders as he lets him go. ]

What, are you curious? You're going to make me blush if you are.

[ He rights himself easily...but then he just folds his arms at that. ]

...For some reason, I can't imagine you blushing that easily.

You keep making assumptions. You never know. I might surprise you.

[ He grins as he folds his hands behind the back of his head. ]
