MOCK ROUND - WEEK 1

All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.

Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a false murder mystery for two weeks.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?

There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.

Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request, to help ease the boredom of it all.

Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.

Yet, with only a fake game in front of them....there's no proper sense of foreboding, is there?

....But maybe all of this...

...Is just the calm before the storm.

[Lambda is floating around every so often, often with a snack or a drink in her hands. She's more than happy to talk to everyone if they try to stop her, though.]

[ He's milling about with a snack in his own hand as he pauses to look at one of the many portraits of their hostess. ]

For someone small, her ego isn't in short supply, huh?

[ Later on, he can be found poking around inside of the shed outside. ]

Hey, this reminds me of something from a scary story.

[ He'll pull out a sharp trowel, the chainsaw, or hedge clippers. ]

Ah, Lady Lambdadelta!

[He produces another rose with a flourish. Hey Asuma, could you maybe like, not take all the roses???

(No.)]

Good morning! Will we be seeing you around all throughout the game, then?

[With the whole it's 'fake' and 'only two weeks and time is frozen' Scarred is doing a lot better than at lunch... Still wearing the cloak though, and still not got a name plaque.

With everyone having their powers removed. Scarred risks the door to the master bedroom so she can confirm what is in the room. She stiffens in the doorway, her eyes going over the books, the artifacts, the guns...

Okay, nope. She's just pulling this door shut again. Not even going in there fully.]

It makes Father's study look normal.

[Around midday, she can be found on the edge of the forest. Maybe, the green cloak could hide her a little? But she's just peering out at what she can see between the trees. After a while she takes a glove off, and just rests her scarred hand against on of the trees. She holds, it then closes her eyes with a sigh.]

She really has blocked everything...

[She's just walking through the rose garden, when she hears things rattling.]

With everything else here. I would have thought they were using magic for the garden.

[The outside garden is lovely, but a bit too pointy and closed off for her tastes -- it's good to appreciate the roses, but at this point Luna can be found in the garden attached to the kitchen where she can just hang out in the midst of the vegetation. Probably getting lost in it a little bit.

She's wearing a simple pastel sundress in light green, blending in but for the very bright helmet still on her head, so at least she's not a tripping hazard. The bandage is still wound around her right hand, though it's clean this time, and she occasionally frowns at it but otherwise goes about her day.

Anyone cooking may get ingredients if they want, since she seems to be pruning any of the plants that aren't quite up to snuff.]

It's a little plainer than I'm used to, but this is a utility garden, isn't it? It has its own charm.

[Eventually, she'll be back down at the beach, sitting in the surf and staring back out at the ocean. Or rather, she would be, but there's a flock of seagulls hanging out next to her, apparently in hopes of food, and she's just staring quietly back at them as they take turns approaching to nip at her dress.

Does anyone have some bread, this is important.]

[Today is a busy day, and Takashi intends to make use of it. A bit of a vacation before things got serious, maybe- though even now he's thinking of the payout. Which is why when he finds another outfit in his closet he gets dressed and heads to the beach. The ballroom would be easier, but the sand and crashing waves are certainly more dramatic, aren't they? He can be found here early in the morning, doing stretches and meditating- and waiting for Vanitas to get frustrated and hunt him down.

Later he can be found in the master bedroom looking at all the guns with a cruel smirk. Maybe best to let him be?]

Morning; Library

[Asuma can be found in uniform again acquiring a stack of books. It's an eclectic mix of magic textbooks, geography, even a romance novel. But then he comes across a rather old looking book among the shelves, and his hand wavers.]

...Is this...?

[Carefully, he eases it out from his place, expression falling as he reads the title: "The End of the World"]

No way.

Afternoon; Rose Garden

[After lunch, he can be found in the rose garden again, carefully clipping roses from their bushes. Once he has a good collection of them, he removes each thorn one by one and sets about weaving them into...

Is that a flower crown??

Anyway. He's not so immersed in his work that he won't notice others, which is why he looks up at the sound of anyone approaching.]

Oh- hello! Decided to enjoy the flowers too?

Evening; Kitchen

[The delicious smell of curry wafts out from the kitchen tonight. Asuma's got a pretty big pot on the stove, definitely enough to feed more than just him. Lucky you, he's already dishing up rice and curry onto a plate with a faint smile - seems it's already finished.

Feel free to pester him for some, there's no way a kid this size can eat it all.]

master bedroom

[She probably took a peek or two inside the suite and its strange decor and inventory -- it feels somehow even older than the rest of the house, which she's already dated as ancient, but the creepiness doesn't really register. All things considered, she's used to much gloomier places than this.

So Luna is more interesed in Scarred's reactions. She's probably noted the nameplate thing, she's been paying attention, and the general jumpiness of this particular member of their group.

So while she makes enough noise to not sneak up on her, she doesn't really bother with a greeting beyond the dull and surprisingly resonant sound of her footsteps on the house's venerable flooring.]

You're someone else who comes from someplace where magic is common?

[Luna's either at the beach or one of the gardens, no real exceptions. She doesn't sleep or eat and has no real need to shower, so there's really no purpose to her being in her room unless she wants some quiet time.

And despite the size of the group, it's a big mansion, and a very quiet island.

There's something nostalgic about it. People crowded together under the sound of waves and the gulls. It's been a while. It's also not unusual for her to find someone messing around on the beach in the early morning, though it's been just as long since that has happened. She watches quietly for a little while.]

... I thought humans usually got up later during island vacations.

[Hi Takashi, while you're meditating, a certain small redhead's gonna try to sneak up on you.

Can he actually get away with placing a rose crown (thorns removed) on his head or is this going to turn out to be a terrible idea.]

Yeah, but they don't really have a crystal here, right?

[ He still doesn't get how people can do this shit without magic.

Also just going to turn the chainsaw around to investigate it. ]

master bedroom

Someone looks a little gun happy.

[ S'up. He's just investigating when he spots him in there eyeing the guns. ]

[Oh, Takashi hears him coming almost right away. But after figuring out it's Asuma he keeps his eyes closed, letting him get away with putting the crown on him.

He peeks an eye open, able to see just a bit of the red from this angle]

I wouldn't call my self the flower type, usually.

Rose Garden

[ Jack is actually running on autopilot, and seems to be wrapped up in his own thoughts when he hears Asuma. ]

Huh? Oh yeah. Just taking it all in.

[ Gesturing around and then putting his hands on his hips. ]

I like it before it gets bright and hot.

[he doesn't pause in his current stretch, glancing back at her]

I don't know how to shoot, but I can appreciate a good collection.

[ Vanitas spends a lot of his morning outside.

And, it would seem he is back in that body suit and helmet combination - er. One would hope he changed out to clean it all, at some point, anyway. What's more, for anyone observant, they may or may not be wondering if this guy has eaten, at all, given he hasn't been seen without the helmet?

But, surely, this is fine.

In any case, he can be found poking around the gardening shed. He might be heard muttering, to himself. ]

What's the point in all of it, anyway? It clearly takes way more time and energy than it's worth...

[ Shed aside, he can be found wandering the grounds (until he stops at the beach to harass Takashi), though only briefly pausing near the forest.

He will be spending noon and onward inside, namely the kitchen and library.

If the kitchen, he's going to be poking around, exploring all the supplies and tools. He isn't going to be trying to make anything, but he might be lingering an awful lot around any pastries? When he hurriedly leaves the kitchen, it's to swing by his room.

And, hours later, after he leaves his room, he can be seen wearing some different clothes, possibly looking like he escaped some Hot Topic convention. More importantly? There's no helmet. He looks annoyed. The rest of his day will be spent in the library, where he's sitting on the floor, tucked away in a corner with a large stack of books. ]

[Can't get past the overlord that easily! But it's okay, he accomplished his mission and that's what matters.]

No? Roses seem like your kind of flower, though. Ah, but I removed the thorns so it doesn't actually hurt.

I've never seen a garden so full of roses before. It's actually really amazing they were able to grow so many like this!

[Which is why he's been picking more and more of them, RIP. He gestures to that pile of roses in his lap, actually.]

Want to join me? Although I don't know if you're interested in flower crowns...

They look pretty easy, but boy do they pack a punch.

[ He's not going to even touch them, but he will walk over to the stakes to poke at them. ]

This room is pretty creepy.

[ Again, his expression seems calm and there's still that smile there. ]
