WEEK 4 MINGLE

The weekend that just passed was....frankly, a lot. Yet despite all odds, you somehow pulled out a win from the jaws of utter defeat. As you wake up feeling tired but happy, the speakers crackle to life with the voice of The Lady.
"Attention, Guests. This week, The game is temporarily suspended. This week, there will be no mafia kill. Take a break for your hard work."
And...indeed, it seems like this is a peace week. The Staff, after the disappearance of The Captain, are acting worse than they did last week - not only is there the blankness and the stuttering, but sometimes they even get orders wrong, with potentially hazardous results. Asking the Staff for things has become more dangerous and unreliable, but at least you meals are still good. Speaking of, The Chef has put a sign up on the door, reading "DO NOT TAKE KNIVES WITHOUT ASKING FIRST!! THAT MEANS YOU!!" written in big, angry letters. The resort also seems to be gearing up for Christmas - there are lights and trees scattered around the place, as well as mistletoe for couples to get their public displays of affection on. There's also some other holiday decorations around, for Kwanzaa and....something else you definitely have never seen before. The thing....wriggles, and you don't want to be around it for long.
The weather is still nothing, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.
On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Are you getting closer to the truth of this place, maybe? It's hard to say.
MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

[Oh wait, a crossroads, huh?]
Never mind that, uh... I think north is probably best, but... What does everyone else think?

[Sorry, that's his only contribution, he's not allow to do directions]

[ Roxas knows literally zero about an immune system, so. ]
no subject
Don't squish it.
[Then, back to the group, facing their crossroads.]
North, huh? [He thinks on it, weighing up their options.] Let's go.
[Treading...delicately on the. Flesh.]

[Okay, well, Bennings isn't actually listening to anything you guys are saying. He's still a horror movie character at heart, and horror movie characters tend to do stupid shit.
He's headed west. Bye guys.]

2nd round: must make 18 or better for encounter
result: 10 -5 (5) | 9 -5 (4), NO ENCOUNTER
As Bennings heads west, the rest of you head north. The Material under your feet gets less springy and more smooth, the sound of breathing not as heavy. It looks like you'll have to keep going forward.
And as for Bennings, he comes to another springy room, with other circular, smaller rooms inside. Good job getting in one of the Alveoli, my dude. Though it doesn't feel like he's alone...]
no subject
So, um. Is everyone still here? We said to not split up no matter what, so everyone should still be here, right?
[...Right...?]
no subject
[He checks to see if the app still works]
no subject
Oh god damn it.]
Bennings!
[If Snake just yells down whatever this weird house throat thing is he could hear him right?
Maybe. Ugh. Whoever's in the earpiece is getting...an earful. Sorry.
He looks at the map and, great. He's not fucking there. They now have two options: go look for Bennings, and get incredibly, dangerously lost in the process - or keep moving forward and hope he can fend well enough for himself.]
God damn it-
[Next time, he's going solo.]
We press onwards. Nobody get any ideas.
[Continuing northwards they go.]
no subject
[He'll keep going! but soon freezes in mid-crawl as a scream fills the intercom]
Shit!
no subject
BENNIIIINGS!
[Snake yells into the earpiece, but there's no use in it now. He's gone.
Telling everyone else to turn back now...that'd just be even more risk again, wouldn't it?
No letting that sacrifice be in vain. He composes himself, and keeps going.]
no subject
Maybe don't think next time.
3rd round: must make 15 or better for encounter
result: 16, ENCOUNTER
encounter: 5 ( gives +10 to future encounter rolls)
As they go forward - suddenly, there are two men in front of them. The one in the blue jumpsuit waves cheerily at them, but the gray one suddenly screeches and whips out a book, running through it and saying something in a language you can't comprehend.
After that, the blue one stops smiling - and suddenly takes out a large looking gun, shooting a clear liquid at everyone. It completely covers you all - and more than that, it starts to sting as small holes begin to show up on your clothing and skin.
You now feel as if The entire system is on high alert.
What do?]

We're pulling out, now.
[Let's run back as fast as we can.]
no subject
He hears Ellie, and barks an order.]
All of you, out! I'll handle this.
[He's gone too far to turn back now; he won't let Bennings die for nothing.]
no subject
But then...
4th round: 15 or better for encounter
result: 16 +10 (26), ENCOUNTER
encounter: 5 (no double encounters so void), 6 (holy shit it's the same one)
Snake Vs. eosinophil: rolled 9, chose 2 = SAFE
Ryoga vs. Eosinophil: rolled 3, chose 7 = SAFE
Ellie vs. Eosinophil: rolled 4, chose 3 = SERIOUS INJURY
A bloody harpoon flies out from the west as Ryoga and Ellie run back toward the vents, and Eosinophil appears where they once were, blocking Snake's path out. The spear strikes ellie in the side, the hooks digging deeply into her skin, but luckily not hitting anything vital.
In the meantime, the girl in pink hunting gear...gets into a perfect cqc pose, barking something out at B cell, who lifts up his gun and backs off. She stares into snake's eyes, challenging him.
In that moment, he feels as if he can understand. She...is a soldier, made to kill animal intruders like them. And she's decided to challenge him to a fight to the death.]
no subject
[His combat instincts yell at him to run back to try to help Snake, but with Ellie getting injured, he knew she comes first]
Hold on... just guide me back. We need to get you out!

A vow to live.
Snake mirrors her pose, and that look in her eyes - that of a perfectly trained killer.
And then, he moves to attack.]

In the distance, Ryoga and Ellie begin to get out of sight.

Hi guys.
Extraction team finally getting in contact, even though they proooobably should've done this awhile ago with this trainwreck.
At least Minato sounds calm.]
Talk to us, guys. Do you need us to send in any back-up? We're all right outside the vents still.

He's... going to check out the smaller rooms here? See if they have anything? Although, there's an eerie feeling that he can't place... Let's hope he doesn't run into whatever's here?! :)]
no subject
result: 20, ENCOUNTER
encounter: 6 (bad luck, bennings)
As he goes into the smaller rooms, someone suddenly approaches from another one. It's...a girl in pink with a harpoon, who looks at him warily.
Before he can even say anything, though, she suddenly leaps forward, driving her harpoon in his chest. Without pause, she twists the weapon and pulls it back out, the barbed hooks dragging flesh and organs along with it on it's way out, strong enough to just fucking break the sternum.
bennings vs eosinophil: rolled 4, player chose 4 = DEATH]
