WEEK 4

The weekend that just passed was....frankly, a lot. Yet despite all odds, you somehow pulled out a win from the jaws of utter defeat. As you wake up feeling tired but happy, the speakers crackle to life with the voice of The Lady.

"Attention, Guests. This week, The game is temporarily suspended. This week, there will be no mafia kill. Take a break for your hard work."

And...indeed, it seems like this is a peace week. The Staff, after the disappearance of The Captain, are acting worse than they did last week - not only is there the blankness and the stuttering, but sometimes they even get orders wrong, with potentially hazardous results. Asking the Staff for things has become more dangerous and unreliable, but at least you meals are still good. Speaking of, The Chef has put a sign up on the door, reading "DO NOT TAKE KNIVES WITHOUT ASKING FIRST!! THAT MEANS YOU!!" written in big, angry letters. The resort also seems to be gearing up for Christmas - there are lights and trees scattered around the place, as well as mistletoe for couples to get their public displays of affection on. There's also some other holiday decorations around, for Kwanzaa and....something else you definitely have never seen before. The thing....wriggles, and you don't want to be around it for long.

The weather is still nothing, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Are you getting closer to the truth of this place, maybe? It's hard to say.

[Tsumugi nods and her hair extends to whip like lengths before wrapping itself into a long braid that is promptly thrown over her shoulder. She's nervous, but cautiously following along.]

[And here's Ryoga charging towards them like a boar with a tiny in each arm, though Ellie is far more carefully cradled against him]

I said not to come in!

[But he shakes his head]

We need to get Troit-san back fast.

[Aoi immediately stops and motions to everyone to split down the middle, since they don't want to get in Ryoga's way here -- they'll guard his back since the vent behind them is a safe and free escape route.]

Hang on a moment. Schwarzer-kun, you had some healing abilities, right? Can you give her something to hold her over?

Yeah, of course. It won't be much, but...

[Better than nothing, anyways. He takes a second to take out his ARCUS and fiddle with it a little before he casts a Teara aimed towards Ellie. There's the sensation of soothing water when it lands and it'll probably take the edge off the pain while sealing the wound slightly, but ultimately, it really isn't much.]

Sorry, that's the best I can do here. She's going to need actual medical expertise, but hopefully that can tide her over for now.

Hopefully this helps a little bit more.

[ Roxas also throws a healing spell over at Ellie, because he's here too, and he thought to add to that to help as much as he can...it's too bad all of that went so badly, though... ]

[Tsumugi is just here watching helplessly and hoping she doesn't have to be the one to tell Yoshi is girlfriend is also dead if it doesn't work.]

Ellie-san, y-you'll be okay now.

[Once they got to the not-flesh part of the vent, he suddenly rolls, dropping himself onto his back, bracing his legs against the metal ceiling, and pushes hard, launching himself out while holding Ellie close, using himself as a cushion to protect her from the sudden drop]

[ Well, he'll follow suit silently, in probably what is a less extra way, though when he does... he makes sure to look over at Ellie to see how bad her injuries are after those two healing spells.

And for the record, he's sent a command to his Nobody to disperse once Snake has reached safety. ]

[Okay, Ellie does not know how to deal with all this extra at all.]

Umm.. This isn't exactly the worst injury I've taken, you don't all have to be so concerned about it...

[Okay, it's the worst injury she's taken while alive that wasn't her direct cause of death, but who's counting?]

[ Bunny hood sits up abruptly at the sight of Ellie, scrambling to their feet at the sight of the blood. Oh no oh no oh no-

They do however stop short of crowding her, not wanting to get in the way. But from the tenseness in the sleeves, it's clear they're distressed. ]

I think it’s even more concerning if this isn’t the worst one...

[She knew Ellie did fighting at home and probably some shady business for the church, but it’s still different from seeing her insides, okay. Aoi’s going to check that everyone else is in one piece once they’re all out (probably not have yeeted themselves like a big ham though), and then let herself collapse onto a couch with a sigh.

She’ll just watch over the healing for now.]

[He shakes his head.]

Just because you've had worse doesn't mean it isn't something to be worried about. That's what friends do.

[Medic manages to tear himself away from the couch to get a good look at the wounded. He may absolutely hate this, and still be panicking a bit over Bennings, but cleaning up the aftermath of a fight is his job.

He luckily had the presence of mind to bring some of his supplies with him to the lobby- he sets down an overstocked First Aid kit in front of her, before handing her a stickynote.]

May I take a look?

[Her injuries are probably already improved by the healing spells, but some bandages and antiseptic can't hurt.]

[ She will just tackle Roxas. Hiiiiii! ]

[ And he's tackled, falling right onto his bum because he didn't see it coming... ]

...Uh, hey.

[ Yeah, he's glad they made it out alive, but still the fact remains someone died. ]

[Snake, after some time, does arrive, moving at a speed and covered in-

Well, that probably is Snake's blood, despite the blue hue, and the explanation is there with the tentacles hanging from his sides, bite marks all over them.

He gives the group a hnrnghh and a briefly raised talon in acknowledgment, no small relief to see there's no further casualties, at least not on Bennings' scale.]

[ Roxas doesn't even blink, turning over to Snake when he sees that he's covered in blood and it looks like it's coming from him.

You're getting a nice healing spell your way, Snake. ]

Ripley rushes forward when she spots Snake finally coming out from the vents.]

Snake, what the hell happened in there?! What happened to Bennings?

[She sounds more fearful than she does angry, though--let's be real, she'd be chewing out everyone who went on this stupid mission.]

[That gets Aoi to jump up from the couch where she’s been taking a breather, relief and concern written across her face as she comes over and examines the... blue blood tentacles?? Um.]

... Arms?

[She’s a little short on general coherence right now in the aftermath, let her live.]

[Aidios what is he looking at here uh

He'll join Roxas in firing a (shitty) healing spell Snake's way.]

[And, once he's done with Ellie, Medic just fucking sprints over to Snake. The stickynote is all but slapped into the talon before Medic gets to work on cleaning his wounds.]

[Once they are outside, Tsumugi starts to relax and turns to face Roxas.]

.... I'm glad you're alright, Roxas-kun.

[ Sometime after Ellie is patched up and Cinque does her healing thing, Roxas is gonna get a bunny hoodie hug. ]

[Wherever he ends up eventually, she'll come settle down next to him -- Aoi's just making the rounds checking up on the vent squad right now, really, making sure that they all get any wounds and acid burns looked at and all that practical stuff. Even if Roxas is all in one piece, though, she'll stay for a bit.]

... That went both better and worse than expected, I think.

[On the one hand: Bennings is extremely dead.

On the other hand: Only Bennings is dead. Ellie is only maybe 5% dead.]

Not everything went as planned, but... I'm glad most of you guys got out in one piece. You did a good job out there.
