WEEK 4 MINGLE

The weekend that just passed was....frankly, a lot. Yet despite all odds, you somehow pulled out a win from the jaws of utter defeat. As you wake up feeling tired but happy, the speakers crackle to life with the voice of The Lady.
"Attention, Guests. This week, The game is temporarily suspended. This week, there will be no mafia kill. Take a break for your hard work."
And...indeed, it seems like this is a peace week. The Staff, after the disappearance of The Captain, are acting worse than they did last week - not only is there the blankness and the stuttering, but sometimes they even get orders wrong, with potentially hazardous results. Asking the Staff for things has become more dangerous and unreliable, but at least you meals are still good. Speaking of, The Chef has put a sign up on the door, reading "DO NOT TAKE KNIVES WITHOUT ASKING FIRST!! THAT MEANS YOU!!" written in big, angry letters. The resort also seems to be gearing up for Christmas - there are lights and trees scattered around the place, as well as mistletoe for couples to get their public displays of affection on. There's also some other holiday decorations around, for Kwanzaa and....something else you definitely have never seen before. The thing....wriggles, and you don't want to be around it for long.
The weather is still nothing, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.
On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Are you getting closer to the truth of this place, maybe? It's hard to say.

But then...
4th round: 15 or better for encounter
result: 16 +10 (26), ENCOUNTER
encounter: 5 (no double encounters so void), 6 (holy shit it's the same one)
Snake Vs. eosinophil: rolled 9, chose 2 = SAFE
Ryoga vs. Eosinophil: rolled 3, chose 7 = SAFE
Ellie vs. Eosinophil: rolled 4, chose 3 = SERIOUS INJURY
A bloody harpoon flies out from the west as Ryoga and Ellie run back toward the vents, and Eosinophil appears where they once were, blocking Snake's path out. The spear strikes ellie in the side, the hooks digging deeply into her skin, but luckily not hitting anything vital.
In the meantime, the girl in pink hunting gear...gets into a perfect cqc pose, barking something out at B cell, who lifts up his gun and backs off. She stares into snake's eyes, challenging him.
In that moment, he feels as if he can understand. She...is a soldier, made to kill animal intruders like them. And she's decided to challenge him to a fight to the death.]

[His combat instincts yell at him to run back to try to help Snake, but with Ellie getting injured, he knew she comes first]
Hold on... just guide me back. We need to get you out!

A vow to live.
Snake mirrors her pose, and that look in her eyes - that of a perfectly trained killer.
And then, he moves to attack.]

In the distance, Ryoga and Ellie begin to get out of sight.
TURNS UNTIL EOSINOPHIL BACKUP: 5]

Notably, his jacket is open.
So, of course - not only are there human arms working, but tentacles, too.]

Better do what you want to do, Snake - she's incredibly strong, as this is optimal operating conditions for her, and it'll only take her a moment or two to break free.
TURNS UNTIL EOSINOPHIL BACKUP: 4]

It's one of these guys and it begins to go over to help the taller man, brandishing out its twin blades, preparing to go in for a swing to attack her. ]
butts in for a moment
Snake-san...! I don't know what's happening over there, but if you can force that Eosinophil to drink the potion I gave you guys... Please do that!

Needing to be quick, there was little time to think.
His instinct is to throw her, try and get her on the ground, prone, for just a moment- a moment would be all he needs -
Then there's Aoi's transmission. There wasn't any more time to act - he readies an arm, a talon, on the side, but in the moment he has the cell in his grip he reaches for the potion and, cracking it open with the talon, attempts to force the liquid into her throat.
He's put his faith in you, Aoi. Don't let him down.]

Her eyes seem to swirl, that laser focus and killing intent vanishing in a second as it's replaced a more glossy, far away look. She manages to break free, but then stumbles to her feet - losing her balance and falling over.
She's obviously drunk.]

Which is a sentiment that'll be expressed at a later time, because there's none to waste. Giving the cell a nod in acknowledgement to the fight she put up, he turns tail and runs back the way he came.
Another time, Eosinophil.]

Hi guys.
Extraction team finally getting in contact, even though they proooobably should've done this awhile ago with this trainwreck.
At least Minato sounds calm.]
Talk to us, guys. Do you need us to send in any back-up? We're all right outside the vents still.

...I might need some healing.
[Aand back to giving Ryoga directions.]

We'll be ready for healing.
[BUT...]
What about Snake-san? Can he get out on his own?
no subject
no subject
[That's... honestly kind of unlikely.]
no subject
We can't... just leave him there--
[No, that's not their problem]
... Just focus on getting out of there. We'll figure it out.
VENT SQUAD INCOMING
Everyone but Minato let's go, we'll meet the vent squad halfway hopefully.]
