WEEK 4 MINGLE

The weekend that just passed was....frankly, a lot. Yet despite all odds, you somehow pulled out a win from the jaws of utter defeat. As you wake up feeling tired but happy, the speakers crackle to life with the voice of The Lady.
"Attention, Guests. This week, The game is temporarily suspended. This week, there will be no mafia kill. Take a break for your hard work."
And...indeed, it seems like this is a peace week. The Staff, after the disappearance of The Captain, are acting worse than they did last week - not only is there the blankness and the stuttering, but sometimes they even get orders wrong, with potentially hazardous results. Asking the Staff for things has become more dangerous and unreliable, but at least you meals are still good. Speaking of, The Chef has put a sign up on the door, reading "DO NOT TAKE KNIVES WITHOUT ASKING FIRST!! THAT MEANS YOU!!" written in big, angry letters. The resort also seems to be gearing up for Christmas - there are lights and trees scattered around the place, as well as mistletoe for couples to get their public displays of affection on. There's also some other holiday decorations around, for Kwanzaa and....something else you definitely have never seen before. The thing....wriggles, and you don't want to be around it for long.
The weather is still nothing, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.
On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Are you getting closer to the truth of this place, maybe? It's hard to say.

Umm.. This isn't exactly the worst injury I've taken, you don't all have to be so concerned about it...
[Okay, it's the worst injury she's taken while alive that wasn't her direct cause of death, but who's counting?]

They do however stop short of crowding her, not wanting to get in the way. But from the tenseness in the sleeves, it's clear they're distressed. ]

Hey... she'll be alright. Ellie-san is strong, Yoshi.

She's in good hands now.
[Or at least the best they have here.]

[She knew Ellie did fighting at home and probably some shady business for the church, but it’s still different from seeing her insides, okay. Aoi’s going to check that everyone else is in one piece once they’re all out (probably not have yeeted themselves like a big ham though), and then let herself collapse onto a couch with a sigh.
She’ll just watch over the healing for now.]

[Roxas and Ellie, that is. Everything about it was a little extra but hey, it got the job done. And to be fair extra as fuck is like the default state back home, so she barely even blinked at that whole shebang.
All the same, Aoi is going to be leaning over to peer at the burns -- it seems like they all have them and they don't look great.]
What happened, anyway? Did you all get hit by something?

[His eyelids flutter, feeling a tinge of exhaustion as he sits up once Ellie is fully taken care of and he goes to remove the contacts]
Yeah, there's a cell - B Cell that fires antibodies, turns out it's basically acid. It's weird, the Memory cell instantly knew we weren't suppose to be there....

[Who knows what would have happened if they hadn't been a sensible group, or if Snake hadn't been there to hold off the Eosinophil, or if they hadn't had earpieces, or if the ridiculous potion gambit hadn't worked... They were way too friendly with way too many different kinds of death back there.]
... A Memory B cell, right? They're supposed to recognize previous infections, so it's possible that because the Outsider was the previous infection, they saw through our disguises more easily. [she frowns to herself] Either way, you should probably have those burns looked at, and make sure none of the acid is still there.
[Y'all, do not sit there waiting for the holes on your person to get bigger??]

Y-yeah, I didn't want to move while Troit-san was being looked at.
[His breath hitches - fuck it hurts. He'll go get healed up with Cinque]

Just because you've had worse doesn't mean it isn't something to be worried about. That's what friends do.

He luckily had the presence of mind to bring some of his supplies with him to the lobby- he sets down an overstocked First Aid kit in front of her, before handing her a stickynote.]
May I take a look?
[Her injuries are probably already improved by the healing spells, but some bandages and antiseptic can't hurt.]

[Go ahead, do your checkup. She definitely seems to have an absurd pain tolerance, though.]
no subject
[So, how bad is the injury after the healing spells? What's he working with, here?]
no subject

Are you trying to hide how much pain you're in, or do you really not feel all that effected? And is that a side effect of the healing spells?
[He then goes back to cleaning the wounds at her side.]

...It's true that this is the most serious injury I've had while living, though. ...Aside from the one that killed me, I mean.

high pain tolerance can be a useful tool, so long as it's not so dulled that you can't recognize any pain.
It's also not a tool you or the rest of the children here should be using, but I understand that circumstances force our hands.
