WEEK 1

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.

The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?

So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?

In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

[There's an Air vent up near some of the couches in the lobby! It looks just big enough for a person to fit through...]

[and so Akira hops onto the couch, carefully balancing against the back to reach up and hook his fingers into the grating of the vent. can he pull it loose, or does he need some kind of tool to knock the screws free?]

[Oddly enough, he can pull it loose rather easily. It seems the Staff didn't expect anyone to try to access the vents.]

[. . . a little suspicious, but honestly? anything that makes Akira's job easier is good. he tosses the grating aside, allowing it to clatter against the ground with a loud clang, before he hooks his fingers into the edge of the vent and pulls himself inside]

[how dark is it in here?]

[It's an air vent - you'll need a flashlight to be able to see anything.]

[purrtagonist]

[HE HAS ONE BETTER: his cell phone light! it takes some maneuvering because the space is so small, but he pulls his phone from his pocket, slides his thumb across the screen, and turns on the light]

[and then. . . he starts crawling. and anyone watching will totally see his feet disappear peacefully into the vent. goodbye, world]

[Goodbye world indeed.

The Cellphone light illuminates the metal clearly and easily as he crawls, the space not getting any shorter. Yet, the tunnel just keeps going....

[yes!! he's crawled through vents before. phantom thief, and all that. he'll keep going, searching for any sign of light streaming in from another vent opening]

[Well, there aren't any other vent openings, which is weird.

And the more he crawls, the more...things start to change.

But it's when The metal around him feels squishy and looks red in the cellphone's light is when he might realize things aren't going how he thought.

[okay no he's going to. stop for a moment, brows furrowed, and reach out to. poke a red and squishy vent wall with two fingers?]

[Akira finds himself falling forward into a flesh-covered room, the sound of breathing coming from all around him.

There's what looks like one of the Staff in a cap and white clothing a little distance away.]

[HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT--]

[Akira is a bit too stunned to land on his feet, but he does trip forward and nearly faceplant into the fleshy ground as he falls. he catches himself quickly, snapping up as his gaze darts around the room, cell phone flashlight lifted above his head to illuminate the area]

[he spots the staff member. . . and immediately freezes. he doesn't call out to them, or try to get their attention, or acknowledge them in any other way]

[Oh, he doesn't have to. A little stick suddenly pops up on top of the hat of the Staff member, and they look around in confusion before turning, and -

wait -

That's...

not a staff member???

The completely white person barks something on their walkie-talkie, whipping out a knife - and then rushes headlong at Akira, with the obvious intent to kill.

Archimedes is forcibly escorted from the vent

By which we mean a gust of wind makes the pidgeon fly out.]

[Archimedes struggles against the wind at first but eventually accepts his fate. Goodbye Akira good luck]

[Szayel is in the lobby playing solitaire after breakfast. And he is watching this with rapt interest....

He calls up after the boy;] Make wise choices!

[. . . calling from inside the vent, voice muffled]

Yes, mom!

[And thus Akira becomes the first death.]
