WEEK 6

You wake up to the sound of silence in the halls, the lights still dimmed after what happened on the weekend. The Staff is still soundly gone, including The Chef - and items aren't regenerating out of thin air for all of you anymore. There's still enough food for everyone who's left, but you'll have to make it yourself, now that The Chef is out of commission. No movies play, the Arcade is dead, and all of the animals from the cafe have vanished, beyond the pets you brought or got during the game.

More than that, however, is that The dead no longer seem to be around from a living perspective. While the tablets went down as soon as The Lady did, they seem to not even be able to pick up or interact with the rest of you. Are they still here?

However, there's another major change - as you come down into the lobby, you'll see that The Resort has landed in an area - the ocean is clearly visible, as it rests close to a beach nearby. More than that, however - you can actually go outside. And it seems like the resort won't pull you back in.

You could, conceivably, just walk out the door, and into freedom. But...Should you?

[look, it's Akira who is waiting in the lobby, when it becomes obvious that they can leave, "he" needs to have a chat with everyone.] You can't leave. ["he" tucks a strand of hair behind his ears.] If you do, everyone who's died will, well... Actually die. And they're already working hard to try and buy us all more time to save the resort, and that idiot who started all this.

[ It's good to see him again after all of that at least. He kind of feels guilty for not being able to approach him over the weekend while settling his thoughts, but... maybe there'll be time for that later. ]

I already decided that I'm going to stay, and I think we should all do that too--in order to save everyone else who died.

[ He ... actually doesn't care about the Resort's existential state beyond 'they need to save the dead', because to him they actually matter and it just so happens fixing everything with the Resort saves them too. ]

Actually... it's Makoto, not Akira. I don't think I could convincingly pretend to be him.

I'm staying as well, promised that to Yoshi.

But those of us who have no such attachments should just leave and not risk themselves any further. Our pay isn't enough for this buklshit.

I doubt there's anyone left alive who hasn't lost a friend because of this. We're going to stay for them.

[ Yoshi, Snake, Rean, Minato, Gerome, and... maybe still Akira. He'd never forgive himself if he didn't do his best to save them.

He made his own promises too, in a sense. He's not an oathbreaker. ]

I think the pay is a little immaterial, and always has been. But at this point, 2/3s of us are trapped here. But they're going to be helping us if we stay.

Also, I've still been talking to the Outsider and he's in bad shape. He had to use a lot of his power during the trial and now his left arm is made up of shadows up to his elbow.

Sataling said that Appy was going to head to the brain. He wants to help give us more time to fix this and I think he's worried about the Outsider.

I'm staying. I want to save everyone and do what I can while I still can.

Umm... Since we’re staying, we should come up with a plan for how we’re gonna get the Outsider and ghosts out now, right?

[Talk of staying is nice and touching and all, but Tsumugi would love a plan of some sort.]

And.., if there’s anything we can do for the resort at this point.

I'm going to ask the Outsider if he knows where the last box is. And I can find the ghosts... I can get them out if we can't save the Resort...

[ She really wants to try though ]

I think we can help the resort, but we need him out first. I think we should take advantage of the fact that he can see everything, and put it to use beyond his stupid perversions. Besides, we need to find the 12th box, correct?
