WEEK 6

You wake up to the sound of silence in the halls, the lights still dimmed after what happened on the weekend. The Staff is still soundly gone, including The Chef - and items aren't regenerating out of thin air for all of you anymore. There's still enough food for everyone who's left, but you'll have to make it yourself, now that The Chef is out of commission. No movies play, the Arcade is dead, and all of the animals from the cafe have vanished, beyond the pets you brought or got during the game.

More than that, however, is that The dead no longer seem to be around from a living perspective. While the tablets went down as soon as The Lady did, they seem to not even be able to pick up or interact with the rest of you. Are they still here?

However, there's another major change - as you come down into the lobby, you'll see that The Resort has landed in an area - the ocean is clearly visible, as it rests close to a beach nearby. More than that, however - you can actually go outside. And it seems like the resort won't pull you back in.

You could, conceivably, just walk out the door, and into freedom. But...Should you?

...We really need to come up with a plan in the meanwhile. We can't just do nothing while Ichigo risks himself like that.

We still need to find that last box, don't we? And maybe take another look over the resort to see if we missed something else we can use to help get to the Outsider?

Yeah, we do! We can do that. I'm going to see if Owain will let me talk to the Outsider, too. He might know where it is... and if he sees we all are staying, he may tell us.

Okay, I think that's a good idea since he probably does know where things are in this place, and if you manage to get anything else out of him that'll help at all...that'd be good too.

[ So, he'll rely on her to do that. ]

[ Giving a nod. ]

Right. I think he might actually like me.

[ Because he said he could respect someone who tries! ]

[ Moving over to give Roxas a tight hug though. ]

I wouldn't be surprised...it's kind of really hard for anyone to hate or dislike you, no matter what's happened. And I just realized I still need to really talk to him about something.

[ So, that's another reason to save the Outsider, he guesses.

He'll nod at her next words, but he isn't expecting the hug, though it's not unwelcome given that he returns it a bit of time afterwards and a little tightly on his end. ]

You're only saying that because you're my friend. Thank you, Roxy. What are you going to talk to him about?

That's not the only reason.

[ Roxas pokes her once at that after freeing one of his hands, small smile still on his face, before it fades. ]

...Remember when you told me that the Outsider was going to try to find out who "she" is? I still plan on asking him, but with the way things are...I think that's going to need to wait until later.

[ Hey she didn't say he can have a free hand. She grins and then pokes him in turn. ]

Yeah, we'll make sure he gets out so he can try.

[ Wow!! Roxas just...pokes right back, turning into it a little poke-war. ]

Looks like for one reason or another we've all agreed to get his bum out, then.

[ Everyone's had their own reasons, but it's put them on the same path. He can be thankful for that, at least. ]

Schwarzer-kun told me that Sol can translate for the rats. We should see what they know.

You're right--maybe some of the other guests aren't around anymore? And if that's true, it'll make looking around for stuff easier.

[ Maybe he can go and check one of the rooms out... ]

I remember him mentioning something about that--they'll probably be more open to talking about things more too?

[ So, not a bad avenue to be checked out either. ]

I know the oil monster was guarding a lot of things. You never know what we might find up there.

[They are still looking for that pesky box and whatever door, after all.]

And yeah. Now that things have gotten this bad, I think they’ll want to help. Speaking of which... Inaba-san mentioned that the dead might try and contact us through the rats in case of emergency. They’re multiplanar, so it doesn’t matter if the ghosts can interact with our plane or not.

[Hopefully it works and there are no more ghostly surprises. Please.]

...Really? I guess we can see what's going on in that room first--I remember Inaba mentioning the oil monster was in room 202.

[ Got it memorized? ]

It doesn't look like they're able to do much with the tablets now, so that's kind of useful to know. I don't think things will start getting easier just because the Staff is all gone and we've actually stopped traveling around in the Resort.

[ If anything, Roxas wouldn't be surprised if it got harder, but he hopes that it wouldn't be that much of a difficulty spike. ]

Mmhmm. They said that it shouldn't be aggressive as long as you don't steal anything. Since we don't know where it is right now, it would be good to be careful going in.

[Just in case. They've both got the caution routine memorized by now, haven't they? Advantages of adVENTures.]

The ghosts... said that they would leave the food to us. I don't know if that's why they're intangible, but I believe they're still there. We can at least ask the rats or one of the other multiplanar guests to confirm that.

[Some minimal information to ease their worries.]

I think I can avoid just taking random stuff with me if it turns out to be something that I wouldn't need to--and for something like notes I could just copy that stuff down...

[ It's funny, but it has. That and Roxas has a very high want to keep himself from getting hurt too much if he can avoid it--one of the people who has a high amount of self-preservation, for a lot of reasons. ]

We should be okay with food for awhile at least...and I don't think they've just simply gone away just because we can't feel them or anything. But, asking that would help.

[ Yeah he's still worried about them--even a certain person he's still kind of. Really mad at!!! ]

That's a good idea, and if you can -- definitely take someone to watch your back, okay? It might be a good idea for us all to split the floor between ourselves, anyway.

[They don't know who's still here and who's going, among the other guests.

They don't know what the hell 34 is still up to, or if they've been abandoned now that the game is over. There are all kinds of possibilities, and while Aoi's self-preservation is in a sort of weird Schroedinger state right now, she hasn't stopped being cautious. They have a lot riding on them.]

Let's ask around. And... I guess, we'll figure something out, for cooking and everything.

[Please help, she can make food on the level of instant ramen and that's it.]

I'll probably be fine, but...there's no reason not to be careful after everything.

[ So Roxas will look for a second to accompany him. He's capable but a second set of eyes is good in case of a bad surprise even he can't see or something to that effect. ]

...I only know how to make one dish, so I'm not sure if I should be cooking anything if it's not one thing for breakfast. So, if we have someone more capable maybe we should get them on cooking duty?

[ He knew of exactly two people here who were good at cooking and, uh. They're currently busy being in ghost land. So. ]

[This is why you're one of like two people she doesn't expect to immediately yeet themselves into the void and die half the time, Roxas. You have a modicum of common sense and self-preservation.

Aoi gives him a quick nod for that, and then goes back to contemplating their cooking conundrum. Because there sure is one??]

... I can make instant food, but I'm not sure how much of that we have. Um, which dish can you make?

[Is it eggs. Why did they kill all their known cooks on top of all their doctors.]

[ Listening in from the sidelines, Kohaku heaves a sigh and walks over. Time to actually commit to being useful to the group, huh? Now that they've all decided to voluntarily risk their lives and all that. ]

I can do it. Nothing super fancy, but I get the feeling that none of you have aristocratic taste-buds anyway.

Really? Can you show me how to cook other things too?

... I think most of us just want to get through this without running out of food because we're burning it all or something...
