WEEK 6

You wake up to the sound of silence in the halls, the lights still dimmed after what happened on the weekend. The Staff is still soundly gone, including The Chef - and items aren't regenerating out of thin air for all of you anymore. There's still enough food for everyone who's left, but you'll have to make it yourself, now that The Chef is out of commission. No movies play, the Arcade is dead, and all of the animals from the cafe have vanished, beyond the pets you brought or got during the game.

More than that, however, is that The dead no longer seem to be around from a living perspective. While the tablets went down as soon as The Lady did, they seem to not even be able to pick up or interact with the rest of you. Are they still here?

However, there's another major change - as you come down into the lobby, you'll see that The Resort has landed in an area - the ocean is clearly visible, as it rests close to a beach nearby. More than that, however - you can actually go outside. And it seems like the resort won't pull you back in.

You could, conceivably, just walk out the door, and into freedom. But...Should you?

We decided strategy would be the more important skill here. Unfortunately... using his role doesn't quite work the same if the Lady isn't around.

If that was the case, he was the one who should've been here instead.

... I'm truly sorry. [she offers a small bow at that.] I acted recklessly, up until now. I did what I did to save him, and yet when he asked me... I eventually said yes. I know how hypocritical that is. But please, trust us.

[ Roxas stares at her...and if she should look up at him after the bow, his eyes will look cold and unforgiving. There was an edge there too, though that's dissipated. At the very least she's a person possessing his body instead of something else, if he needs to find a positive in all of this. ]

He asked you, but you were the one who said yes--which means it wouldn't have happened if you didn't.

[ If anything, that makes him angrier. He'd assumed that it was automatic, looks like it wasn't. ]

... I don't want to play games with you anymore, or anything! But when we have to talk and work together, we will. Nothing more than that.

[justfists]

[she looks... a little depressingly used to this. But at his words, she just nods. It's all she could ask for, honestly. Nothing else matters rather than saving the dead.] Alright. I think that's fair enough.

[wrongtiming]

...I knew he'd do it.

[But, also:]

Why do you look like him?

[justfists]

... Because this is literally his body.

[wrongtiming]

...You know what, sure. It's not like that's the weirdest thing that's happened here. But are you, like... Okay?

[justfists]

... I'm about as 'fine' as I can be, considering the circumstances. [ask her in a few days, if she hasn't showered.] And you're probably right, it's not the weirdest thing. But it's very, very, very weird.

[She just stares for a moment and then slowly puts her face in her hands. Y’all.]

... Allow me to officially apologize for us. For this. [she just gives the most deadpan look.] We weren't always like this.

[She’d almost laugh if it were any other day. Today she just looks marginally less tired when she raises her head.]

I’d say I’m completely surprised, but I’m really starting to see how you both work.

I’m not sure I believe that, though. [...] How are we going to fix this when he comes back...?

[makoto, unaware of the dead arguing over this and Akira running Ichigo protection squad--] I'm sure Ichigo can fix it. If we all make it out of here. I have faith we'll make it.

I hope so. It’s all or nothing, Niijima-san.

[Not that different from the last duel she really remembers back home. But it’s not the time to think about that. She’s going to think of one of the ones before that, instead.]

Please, just call me Makoto. I'm not really a fan of formalities. Anyway, if we are going to stay, we're going to need to plan. The dead already are, so it's time we start on our end.

Makoto... This is definitely weird. But you can call me Aoi, if you want.

[Since she's in Akira's body it just feels like a repeat of a long-ago conversation with Akira. Go figure.]

And yes. We're going to have to do our part.
