WEEK 1 - MINGLE

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.
The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?
So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?
In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

If you want to confront him about that outburst now might be a good (?) time.
Later in the day you will hear the sound of violin in the lobby. Kohaku's standing by the fireplace, a white violin in hand, and is playing the difficult tune without faltering even once.
That would surely be impressive in itself, but more eye-catching than that is that the whole area around Kohaku is in black-and-white?? It was definitely not black-and-white earlier today. Yet anywhere in a 5 meter radius around him is devoid of color entirely.
Kohaku does not seem to mind this. He is absorbed in his playing, though every once in a while he eyes the receptionist for any reaction.
If you approach the no-color zone, you'll find that sound is also entirely absent in it. ]
lobby;
Oh, it's the grumpy-looking bloodthirsty person. ]
...I didn't know you could play.
no subject
What, you thought they named me Violinist for nothing?
no subject
Yeah, actually. Most of the nicknames didn't really look like they fit some of the people here, or kind of just made up something about them.
[ Or were too silly. ]
no subject
[ Why bother denying the violent part either, he's got no shame here. The nickname still sounds dumb though. ]
no subject
[ He is pretty violent - he caught only the tail end of the struggle, but he'd seen enough. Which brings to him another question: ]
...Are you going to try to attack the Staff again?
no subject
[ He grits his teeth at that admission. ]
Those fuckers just disappear and reappear if you hurt them, it's not even good for stress relief.
no subject
One good thing came out of this, though. Because Kohaku attacked them, Roxas was able to see some of their capabilities - if anything, they remind him of familiars of some kind, though. ]
Does your violin have some sort of magic? When you were playing it, there wasn't any color or sound nearby you.

You're acting just like the staff, that's weird as hell.
Thanks though.
no subject
[ Definitely does not turn around to look at them. ]
It sounds like you've been playing for quite a while.
no subject
Longer since I can remember back, that's for sure. You know anything 'bout music?

[ Playing 'sometimes' is not exactly a promising portfolio, but please... other musicians... ]

Lobby
So while he won't be stepping within that black-and-white area, he sticks around long enough for Kohaku to finish his song, letting out a quiet round of applause.]
That was beautiful. Did you compose that yourself?
no subject
Tragically... ]
Nah, our orchestra leader is in charge of all compositions we usually play. Asshole's talented, I gotta give him that.
no subject
But orchestra, huh. It fits the profile at least.]
Haha... I'm guessing you don't like him much? Still, you're pretty talented yourself to be able to play something that complicated without so much as a sheet in front of you. Even someone like me can tell that.
no subject
[ He grins at this. ]
Music's not a skill you can obtain without dedicating most of your life to it.
no subject
How long have you been playing?
no subject
Anyway.
All the same, she hears the violin before she sees the guy, so she does wander his way until she actually gets a visual. By that point, she's definitively distracted by the weird no-color bubble. It's wide enough that she'll cautiously approach to move into the very edge. Does the violin also go silent?!
Either way, she'll move in and out a couple of times, eyes widening. Give a couple of gentle claps inside the radius and then move away. Hm.]
What the... [it's quiet, to herself, and once she's a little further away so as not to startle the dubious violinist here; whenever it looks like he's winding down, though--] What kind of violin is that?
no subject
The violin itself is white and looks really well-made, but it's not magically glowing or anything like that.
Once finished playing, Kohaku gives Blue Angel's outfit another good stare-down because... seriously, what's with it? ]
A good one, obviously. Had it so long that I couldn't tell you the name of the person who made it.
no subject
Instead, Blue Angel's going to stare right back at him, appraisingly. She's used to people staring at her avatar in all of its eye-catching glory, because that's what she made it for. Of course it's a little odd when it really is her, in a sense. But she's going with it.]
It's not showing its age at all -- I thought it might be why there was something... weird... happening around you. You do know that you turn off color and sound for some reason when you play, right?
no subject
[ Which brings him to the actual, rather frustrating, point... ]
So... whatever this is, it's new. The people here did it to me.
no subject
[It's semi-rhetorical, because it's a little surprising that a seeming lone wolf and loose cannon like him can play with an ensemble. But then again, musicians are known for being tempestuous creatures? Maybe? The more important point is the second one, which makes her raise her eyebrows in surprise.
She approaches a little then, just to look him over again. He looks the same as in the blizzard, she's pretty sure. But...]
The... ghost did say that some of us were changed, somehow. But I'm not sure that's what he meant. Why would they make you cancel sound and color?
no subject
[ He pauses a little, thinking. ]
I did have a pretty realistic dream about being experimented on, but... might not have anything to do with this either way.
