WEEK 1

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.

The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?

So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?

In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

Yeah, actually. Most of the nicknames didn't really look like they fit some of the people here, or kind of just made up something about them.

Huh. Mine's pretty on the nose but totally correct, so I wouldn't have guessed.

[ Why bother denying the violent part either, he's got no shame here. The nickname still sounds dumb though. ]

[ He is pretty violent - he caught only the tail end of the struggle, but he'd seen enough. Which brings to him another question: ]

...Are you going to try to attack the Staff again?

Seems pointless.

[ He grits his teeth at that admission. ]

Those fuckers just disappear and reappear if you hurt them, it's not even good for stress relief.

[ He'll just nod.

One good thing came out of this, though. Because Kohaku attacked them, Roxas was able to see some of their capabilities - if anything, they remind him of familiars of some kind, though. ]

Does your violin have some sort of magic? When you were playing it, there wasn't any color or sound nearby you.

[ Yeah, that. Kohaku looks hesitant for a moment, not knowing how to really phrase this response. ]

Yeah, that. I got no clue what's up with it.

[ ... nailed it. ]

I can influence guignols - I mean, zombies - with music, but this? That's new.

It is? That's weird.

[ ...Pauuuuse. ]

Wait, you can normally control zombies with music?

[ Okay, does this reaction mean he knows zombies but not that they can be controlled? Or... does he just not know zombies? Kohaku's not even sure which option he'd prefer here. ]

Within limits, yeah. It definitely works better with the full orchestra than alone, but it doesn't look like we'll have to worry about guignols here either way.

[ He feels suddenly so lost - controlling zombies with music, what? You can't do that on the Pirates world

What did he just walk into? Must be different world stuff, he guesses. ]

...I don't think I've really heard of anything like that. Or anyone calling zombies guignols - is there a reason why they have more than one name?

I'm starting to figure out people here only know the zombie version as a term.

Guginols are named this way because they look like freaky dolls. Dunno why there's a second word to start with, but it sure makes explaining faster with you guys.

[ Even though it's apparently all fairytale bullshit to other people. ]

It's probably a good thing a lot of people here have never really seen a real zombie.

[ He'd rather not either because no thanks. ]

...Could you start playing again? There's something I want to check out.

[ It's a good thing, but do other people deserve good things when Kohaku doesn't have them? ENTIRELY DEBATABLE.

But either way... ]

Sure, just don't talk to me until I've finished, because I won't be able to hear shit.

[ And with that, we're back to violin music. This time it's a slower and more wistful tune, because Kohaku may as well take the opportunity to practice something else. The effect on the surroundings is the same as before. ]

[ Sounds like Kohaku needs the experience of having a good thing.

Roxas just nods, waiting for the other to start playing. Then he quickly heads to the kitchen and comes back with a fork.

He throws the fork through part of the surroundings turned black - and - white.

Does anything happen to it? ]

[dolleyed]

[ It would turn black-and-white but since it's a fork, chances are it already was monochrome to start with. Otherwise, nothing happens.

Kohaku's just going to continue playing, in case Roxas isn't done. ]

[ That's interesting...he decides to run into the kitchen and comes back with a carrot. He throws it through the black - and white - space again to see if anything different happens. ]

[dolleyed]

[ The carrot turns grey once it enters the circle and that's it.

Kohaku also starts looking pretty amused while playing. ]

[ This is definitely a good usage of his time what are you talking about ]

I think I'm done?

[dolleyed]

[ Time to end the song then and stare at the dropped carrot on the floor. ]

So... did you learn anything out of that or was it just for fun?

[ Is the dropped carrot still discoloured? ]

I think I learned that if you throw stuff into the area where it's all black and white, it turns kind of greyish. But, I also had some fun too.
