But, regardless....they're alive. They're here, after so much time. All of Monsterkind, back where they should be.

And everyone who you've lost...

They're back. They're back.

You have overcome so much. You have suffered through so much, and seen to the other side.

But now, for the first time in a long, long time...

...The Future is truly the brightest it's ever been.

No more pain. Only....forward, into wherever you go from here.

Though there is still so much to fix....there is still, as always...

that is to say, Dazai's pretty much sticking close to Hitoka and Wuxian on the way back to the Foundation's site and generally just being... actually, pretty much himself? playing a bit of the buffoon while actually thinking and scheming because honestly, he has thoughts about all this. even if he they all need to have a break for a time, oh boy, does he have thoughts.

but once they get back to the site and freshen up and rest a bit, Dazai is on the look out, skulking around for a certain redheaded individual. when he does, inevitably, find said individual, he has to make the most dramatic entrance possible. IF THERE IS A DOOR, HE'S KICKING IT OPEN AND THEN POINTING DRAMATICALLY UP INTO ODA SAKUNOSUKE'S FACE! HE IS FILLED WITH DETERMINATION!!!!

Finally, when they manage to get away from the mountain range and back into SCP sites, he makes a beeline for the one Azura is at and seeking her out. Where is his darling girl? He'd really like to see her after the hell he just went though. :(]

[Both Red and Atsushi can be found around the Underground. Atsushi is still in a bit of a haze and is mostly keeping to himself and staying out of the way. If someone goes looking for him, though, he won't be hard to find.

Red, meanwhile, can be found zooming around and checking on all the monsters. She no longer has her hidden identity- since Undyne was restored too, Red isn't playing pretend anymore- but she still cares about all the monsters she had come to know over her time in the Underground. But she can be found if someone looks for her too. She just wants to make sure everything will be okay before she leaves.]

After 'recovering' the stolen alcohol for Grillby, he bummed a few cigarettes - time to relieve some stress.

However, on the first drag, he starts coughing, hacking, and wheeze and it seems monster cigarettes are really foul? No, it turns out even for Servants, going for nearly six weeks without smoking makes one's body realize what a filthy habit it is.

back in the foundation, solomon can be... found at almost any of the sites. mostly there for quick, one day visits, making sure that everything is still in its place. hell, you can even video message him, if you'd like.

[ It's a few days after, because Hikage isn't in a rush. He should be, and the fact that he's not disgusts him, but he can justify preparations at least. Enough time to verify that in fact the world wasn't ending (he kind of wishes it was) and that their worlds can be made to flow properly again. That's what the time is for, and not to enjoy this last bit of a life he's come to know over the past few months.

He's never deserved it, but he's taken it anyway because that's just the kind of person he is. But beyond that, deeper than that, there's always been something, someone, more important. Ever since he remembered her, and ever since he got all his memories back including how Psychdelica came to be, his choice was made. More than a century ago he had told her it would be okay, and he had to act on that promise. And the solution now is at least, fairly simple unlike all his convoluted plans before. One person had gotten them into this whole mess, and so it only one life was required to get them out.

With texts sent off to Marona and Saphir, that leaves only one more goodbye left. It should be done in text too, he knows but... Maybe there's a chance Subete won't follow. Maybe then, he can hold true to what he had told himself in the days after their first sake filled night then after all. He used to be good at leaving without saying goodbye.

Slipping out in the early morning isn't too hard. They have a schedule of sorts and it's not like Hikage has ever joined in on morning runs. What's been harder is concealing some of the thoughts he's had, not with lies (not like they would work particularly well in this case), but with omission and misdirection. He's probably tipped some of his hand, but that's alright.

In the foyer leading from the genkan, sits a bundle of bright flowers. Tatarinow's aster (紫苑), picked not for their color but for their meaning in hanakotoba. He doesn't need to say anymore and he doesn't need to leave a note and yet— is a poem really a note? They're not his words but it is written in his hand, with proper credit given.

It's nice to live far enough away from the bustle of Tokyo, where there are plenty of fields of grass and even a field of dandelions. And it's nice too, to sit in that field, a speck of crimson among white. Red is his favorite color, but perhaps more importantly, the only way to exit the stage is in the clothes he entered them in. Funny, how they almost feel foreign now. At least the gun in his hands still feels familiar. ]

[Ah, was it his birthday just a little over a week ago? The day he was born -- the day the stars aligned to say, this one is probably right for this kind of a life, something far deeper and more insidious than astrology -- a day that has never really felt right, that he's never quite looked forward to, and yet--

This year (how old is he, does it matter) he's still off-balance all this time later because there are too many things that are new. Maybe he's not entirely new, but there are parts of himself that he didn't know until this year. Gigai aside, he's still not quite sure what to do with them.

It's easy to tell himself, for days at a time, that that's why everything feels just a little left-of-center. Like the home-that's-sometimes-a-home, sometimes-a-base, has been maintenanced a little too hard by the resident robots again and everything's been moved just slightly out of place. But when he comes in from the early morning air to see flowers, a poem -- he doesn't wait, doesn't even change out of his sweaty clothes, just extends his run and turns right back around and heads out again. There's a bell clanging in his gut, brighter than the flowers clutched in his fingers like a charm and blaring like the scream of a cockpit he hasn't seen in years: Subete is a man of letter and thought, but he is also a pilot and Verbalist.

He's learned to listen to his gut feeling, his instincts, even if lately there's a voice in his ear that threatens to override all else. It's not long before he's out there amongst the weeds and the flowers, somehow out of breath even if it isn't the longest run he's done by miles, sweat soft and acrid against the morning air.]

... "I open a book and winter begins." [he stares at a back studied in scarlet, one he knows like the back of his own hand now, and moves resolutely forward] "Nostalgia: the vivid opening passage."

[It's a poem after their time: his and Hikage's both, but he hasn't been slacking on his reading. Even if he's still not sure how to interpret any of this or how to convey the uneasy mixture of coldness and longing in him he can draft some words in return.

Their time continues, for now. The sleekly fashioned watch on his wrist ticks in time, whispering after his footsteps.]

In the Underground, Giovanni's just a little bit antsy to leave, hopping from one foot to the other as preparations are made and things are packed up, though he does take a moment to seek out Papyrus for a proper goodbye. He likes that guy.

Back at the Foundation, the first thing he does is quietly knock on Flayn's door... and then duck out of sight, giggling to himself, before she opens it. Sometimes when you get home from a horrible weeks-long life-threatening mission you just gotta prank your girlfriend, okay? It's cool.

And after they hopefully get a smooch or two in, he'll be around later for calling, texting, or hanging out! He'd really like to drop back in on his world, now that they can do that, so this might be a good time to wish him well. Or ill! I'm not the boss of you, even if Giovanni thinks he is! ]

[ Gilgamesh will be in the Underground for an extremely short amount of time, though he seemed to hold little interest in being friendly with everyone before leaving. He'll see them again so it's hardly any big deal.

Once he's out of there, he will not be visiting the sites unless it's to look for certain people, though he'll be immediately going to his rich estate in Californina. As he did, he'll be sending off a quick text to Hikage:

As you've probably noticed by now, we're done with the so-called herculean task. I imagine there have been no significant changes on your end?

He's sure Hikage was fine, though. ]

[It's strange to think that his time here might be at an end. After he caught word of how their worlds could be accessed once again, a complicated mix of feelings welled up within him as he reflected on everything that's happened since he got here. (About two years? Has it really been that long already?) And in the intervening time, a great deal had also changed, with the state of the world as a whole and with himself; so, suddenly being able to return home and see the faces of his classmates once again--

Well. The prospect is as daunting as it is welcome.

That's probably why he's spent the past couple days wandering around different areas of Site 2, like he's taking in the sights again even as the slightest hint of nostalgia colors his features. He's not really doing anything particularly out of the ordinary otherwise, but he will wave as a greeting if he recognizes you or something decides to approach.

Sometime later in the afternoon, Rean can be found by the exit of the site with his ARCUS open as he speaks into the device. He's not taking any particular care to be discreet, but he speaks quietly enough to the receiver that it might be hard to catch what he's saying unless someone sneaks up on him or something. Either way, if the call isn't interrupted, he'll just quietly make his way off the site.]

'course, in that same amount of time he'll probably stop answering any calls, but, hey. That's not something either of them has to think about right now.

[At Site 1, Lenka's been holding down the fort somewhere in the cluster of apartments and not-so-apartments (seriously, that hole in the wall might as well have been fashioned into a real door by now) shared by himself, Marisa, Mitsuru, Mitsuru's stuff, various pets and familiars over the years... Possibly even more now. He's going to try and meet Marisa and the other Site 1 members on the trek back, though, at least.

At Site 2, Aoi... has definitely not been staying put -- she'd only had a very minimal amount of warning that Cinque would be haring off on a mission quite this wild. The other members of Site 2 are important too, of course, and she'll be tracking them down as needed, but jeez. Those returning to Site 2 will find her sitting outside high in the air on her D-board to try and spot people.

Over at Watanuki's shop! Nora is more or less grouching about having to watch other people fight on TV, but that's what you get when you go from several sorties a month to very few in a year; at the very least the shop life keeps him busy but he's likely to be firing off angry texts to everyone he knows, whether they were in on the Underground shenanigans or not. Anon has been a very busy gremlin while been keeping a weather eye on the sordid affairs of SCPlandia, but the rest of his attention is for Natsuno and their dragon and they really haven't stopped traveling in the meantime. The end of the world or the universes really is just kind of another day in the life. ☆

As for Subete, he'll largely be in Japan's Tokyo metropolitan area or thereabouts -- he's relatively hard to track down, but some of you do have his number and who knows, maybe he'll turn up in chat one of these days?
