FINALE

[And finally, after everything...it's over.
Everything is back to how it should be, once you exit out of the door behind the Waterfall. There are so many Monsters around, all of them excited and running around. Some are wondering what happened - some are just overwhelmed.
But, regardless....they're alive. They're here, after so much time. All of Monsterkind, back where they should be.
And everyone who you've lost...
They're back. They're back.
You have overcome so much. You have suffered through so much, and seen to the other side.
But now, for the first time in a long, long time...
...The Future is truly the brightest it's ever been.
No more pain. Only....forward, into wherever you go from here.
Though there is still so much to fix....there is still, as always...
Hope, and Dreams.
Hold onto those...
....And there's nothing you can't accomplish.]
THE END.

One ring... two rings... three... four... and he picks up! ]
Yo, I figured you'd be giving me a call about now. So, what's up? Wear the floor down so far you need a hand getting out of the hole?

When Crow picks up and greets him with that familiar teasing, he can't stop a small smile from forming on his face. It technically hasn't been that long since they last saw each other, but hearing the amiability in Crow's voice combined with the revelation that they'd be able to go home... well, it takes him back. Before the Foundation, and before everything had gotten complicated back home--like they were just classmates again, meeting up to just hang out at Kirsche's or to walk back home to the dorm.
It's probably because of this that his tone's just as light in response, even if it doesn't quite hit the same level of playfulness as Crow's.]
Well, you do still owe me on that interest... [One day he will stop bringing that up, but clearly today is not that day.]
But anyway, I thought I'd check in with you. You received the memo about our world too, right?

... though it's a little endearing anyway. ]
Oh man. You'll never really let that go, will you? [ He never imagined he'd be paying back interest on a 50 mira loan for the rest of his life. There's a bittersweet quality to his tone that he doesn't bother masking. They both know what going back means—he's never going to just stop what he's doing and rejoin class VII and Rean's unlikely to join his side, but the camaraderie they've shared here has been... nice.
Nostalgic, too. He shakes his head gently before answering Rean's last question. ] Anyway, I did. You must've been pretty excited when you heard the news. It's been, what, two years since you last saw your friends? More?
If you wanna start bawlin', go right ahead. I won't blame you.
