The trial...it was...you remember only up until Gilgamesh was FOUGHT against, and then...nothing.

You feel you shouldn't try to remember anything beyond that.

Up until we engaged the FIGHT UI to see if we could find Yoshi's SOUL.

We figured out that it was Gilgamesh that was possessed for the most part, and I decided to try a FIGHT with him to see if I could find Yoshi-kun's SOUL.

...and that's it. Everything after that is gone.

But it sounds like everyone's memories cut off at about the same place. That's not all that happened, though.

I know enough to know that you don't want to remember everything.

But that thing, it deleted your memories. And I believe it was for a specific reason. If it just wanted you to suffer, then it would have let you remember everything that had happened. But it didn't. It erased everything.

For a being who wants others to suffer, it would only erase memories for one reason: something that happened was too dangerous for all of you to remember.
