[CONTINUE + 4] INTRO

[After so long a trip, you're all finally here. Taken through a hidden passage inside of the very mountain itself, you find yourself standing in front of a field of flowers, growing well due to the open roof above it. If you look up, you can just make out the shimmering colors off of the barrier - looking almost like the shine off of a soap bubble.

Try not to trample on the flowers as you approach the open, purple gate. And remember to wear your masks, now that you're here!

...Still, the sight of the yellow flowers waving in the wind....such a cheery sight fills you with determination for what's to come.

Welcome to the Underground.

...Again. The loop happened again, and you're here. Everything is the same.

Someone who was dead is alive again.

The trial...it was...you remember only up until Gilgamesh was FOUGHT against, and then...nothing.

You feel you shouldn't try to remember anything beyond that.

Not only that, But more monster names have faded from your memory.

...When will this end?]

Exactly.

Like Ren said, it's like back at camp: I only ever erased people's memories when I had to, to preserve the secrecy of the mission. And while this thing has different motivations than I did back at camp, the reasons for our actions can be boiled down to the same general idea: someone saw something that could compromise the mission, so erasing everything is the safest move to keep someone from breaking containment.

You mean the camp where dozens upon dozens of SCP 6350s were sent to die continuously.

How strange we keep ending up in this situation.

[sorry not sorry for the salt thrown at Foundation things]

[personal profile] backspacing 2020-09-06 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
...yes, that one.

As a full disclosure, I was in charge of that camp for seven years. Those deaths are my responsibility. It wasn't until that seventh group- the one that some of those here are from- that the cycle was broken.

But it's not like Red wanted to!

[Hi, he stans.]

...A lot of people had to do bad stuff like that because of the Foundation.
backspacing: (humming a tune)

[personal profile] backspacing 2020-09-06 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
They did. But it was everyone's efforts that changed the Foundation, wasn't it?
justonezero: (and nobody gives a)

[personal profile] justonezero 2020-09-06 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
[Nodding, determined!]

Mm. And we're still trying to improve things, even now!

Red, you were just as trapped as we were. You know we don't hold it against you.
backspacing: (Default)

[personal profile] backspacing 2020-09-06 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
You don't, but everyone is allowed to decide that on their own. And they can't make that decision if they don't know the truth.

The point of that camp was to keep an SCP--Sol, I think it was?--contained, wasn't it?

So the question here: what is the point of this particular scenario? Each person killed so far has had a different color.

We're now down to Cyan and Purple.

If we keep playing its game, we keep feeding it. So we need to stop playing somehow, but not in the way we last tried--correct? Close but not good enough. That still means we have anywhere between a week to two weeks to figure it out.

[personal profile] backspacing 2020-09-06 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, that was the point of camp. But that was only overcome by going against the containment procedures and trying something risky. Without risk, there can be no reward. But Risk also comes with the chance of failure.

Right now, we are treading water. It's a stalemate each time, but with each reset of the board that thing gets closer to victory. We need to look at what has happened before, evaluate our actions, and try something new.

Phrasing it like that makes it sound like we haven't been trying to get ahead of it.

Clearly our efforts went overboard enough this last time that you felt the need to actually work with us instead of separate from us.

...

[SHE. LOOKS AWAY.]

I'm sorry. I'm used to working solo, or just with Archer. I...have never been that good at actually working cooperatively with large groups.

That's fine. It's a long learning process.

That's funny, you worked so well as an agent in that camp.

[sorry, kids, there is no MERCY option here. some Severe Existentialism combined with gf breaking down and bf going Noble Sacrifice on them has stolen his MERCY]

We've needed help since the start. If you're able to see so much into it, then give us a little more guidance than you have. Otherwise, what is the difference between then and now?
justonezero: (And even if)

[personal profile] justonezero 2020-09-06 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Moving in front of her.]

That's what she's trying to do now, isn't it?

[personal profile] cw_suicide 2020-09-06 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
To me, it feels half like a dressing down for going too far and nearly doing incredible damage to ourselves and everyone.

Because we've had no guidance.

I... know we can trust Red, but you're right.

[Why do you trust Red, Chuuta?]

Not now, Drew. Please?

[A lack of MERCY is ok, she does need harsh words to come around.]

I'm giving you what I have here. it's been frustrating, to spend a few months here and have so little information as a result. I should have seen it sooner, but this truly is a problem that no one person can solve on their own. That's why I'm asking all of you for help now.
