WEEK 1

You've found a safe haven from the wind and the snow - yet, perhaps you're not quite out of danger yet. The Resort Staff are odd, but seem harmless - jumping to any whim you might have, if it doesn't make them oddly lock up.

The weather all week is perfect - the perfect temp and snow for plenty of skiing. The firepit in the courtyard is always lit too, with ingredients for smores and hot chocolate always available in the lobby. Though...in the halls, a strange bunch of songs keep playing from the hotel's sound system. Is whoever runs this place a weird cover song enthusiast?

So far, everything seems fine....but there's a weird sense of unease lingering over the Resort as everyone wakes up Monday Morning. Maybe that has something to do with that strange memory that popped in your head when you woke up? Or maybe it's that all of you woke up in the middle of a snowstorm, with no memory of how you got there?

In the end...even though everything should be fine, why does it feel like this is only the prelude to a nightmare...?

[He honestly just wants more sleep - he didn't even exit his room this morning when he was called, it was Flat's - but there's a drowsy garbage bun here nonetheless.]

[It's still weird as heck, but it's been brought up to him a couple times by now, so that's helping with the belief factor.]

I already told some people, but I can see the world as numbers. Ever since this started, there's been weird number sequences - like the place where we started, and the resort, and the Lady and the Staff.

What kind of weird number sequences are we talking about here?

In the area where we started, the numbers kept repeating. I've never seen anything like that before, but... it makes me think if we went the other way, maybe the area would have repeated? Like one of those super old retro games.

Inside the resort, it's like the space inside is infinite. The rooms are just... finite places inside of infinity? [If that makes sense. He's been working hard to make sense of it himself.]

When I read the numbers for the Lady and the Staff just now, the Lady was made of infinity just like the rest of the resort. Looking at the Staff... they're human shaped, but not people.

Unrelated, but. . . are you good with computers?

I wouldn't say I'm good at it, but I can make apps and things like that. Why?

If you can make apps, you're probably better than I am.

I kind of got a weird recording from one of the staff members, and I wanted to see if we could somehow decipher it?

Oh, I can take a look at that! And if I can't figure it out myself, maybe I can make an app that does.

[Because that makes sense.]

I mean. . . sure?

[ She'll take out her phone, unlock it real quick and just play this back for him. ]

[Analysis time! Can he get a read from it either by looking at the data or running the conversion app to dig deeper?]

[He can TRY, but every time he tries his focus will start to wander. It's like something is pushing him away while going 'no, look over there'.

If he keeps trying, eventually his eyes will start to bleed. And he'll get a massive headache.]

[Closing his eyes and putting a hand to his head because yikes!?]

It's weird, right? But if they aren't human, then what are they?

Maybe they are aliens, or something like that. Something that's beyond what we know. There's many things that humans are incapable of understanding, you know?

This isn't all just a trap to suck our brains out, is it?

[That's a thing aliens do right.]

Eeh, that'd be really terrible! I think it would be better if we could befriend them...?

Although, I've seen that aluminum foil hats can help us keep our brains in, if that's what they want...

Does aluminium create some kind of chemical reaction that stops them from attacking you?

You think they might be Risen? ...Uh, actually, wait, not every world has those. Um... Risen are corpses reanimated by dark forces to kill the living. So... yeah. You have anything like that where you’re from?

Zombies like that only exist in movies and video games where I'm from, sorry!

[And they're fun in fiction, but in reality? Yikes!]

Nope! Though it sounds like a lot of people here don't come from places with magic or pegasi, so that's kinda the tradeoff, I guess.
