MOCK ROUND - WEEK 1
All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.
Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a false murder mystery for two weeks.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?
There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.
Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request, to help ease the boredom of it all.
Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.
Yet, with only a fake game in front of them....there's no proper sense of foreboding, is there?
....But maybe all of this...
...Is just the calm before the storm.

With everyone having their powers removed. Scarred risks the door to the master bedroom so she can confirm what is in the room. She stiffens in the doorway, her eyes going over the books, the artifacts, the guns...
Okay, nope. She's just pulling this door shut again. Not even going in there fully.]
It makes Father's study look normal.
[Around midday, she can be found on the edge of the forest. Maybe, the green cloak could hide her a little? But she's just peering out at what she can see between the trees. After a while she takes a glove off, and just rests her scarred hand against on of the trees. She holds, it then closes her eyes with a sigh.]
She really has blocked everything...
master bedroom
So Luna is more interesed in Scarred's reactions. She's probably noted the nameplate thing, she's been paying attention, and the general jumpiness of this particular member of their group.
So while she makes enough noise to not sneak up on her, she doesn't really bother with a greeting beyond the dull and surprisingly resonant sound of her footsteps on the house's venerable flooring.]
You're someone else who comes from someplace where magic is common?
no subject
Ah, jud... Yes, I am. I spoke about it with Lady Lambadelta when she explained a few things.
no subject
She's assuming this is a relatively squishy human woman and so she's avoiding that scenario!
There's a small tilt of the head at the cut-off word, but Luna moves smoothly to meet the new direction Scarred is trying for.]
Did you talk to her about the master bedroom, here? It seems more like her room than anything else.
[But the witchy witch herself isn't in evidence.]
no subject
...That room was probably haunted and she just couldn't sense it thanks to what the witch had done.]
No, I didn't ask about that. It looks a bit... It's not as bright. I didn't think it was her's at all. And the doorknob... She shouldn't be able to touch it.
[But she's glancing back at it.]

[Luna's moving forward to crack the door again, review the contents of the room, but at least that means she's between Scarred and the object of possible haunting. She pauses for a moment to examine the doorknob. As with all things magic, it means pretty much nothing to her. Hm.]
Is there something special about this doorknob?
no subject
[More specifically, evil ones. But she's not sure how this one is set up, and most places consider witchcraft the worst anyway.]
no subject
[This is probably some weird magical law conflict again.
Honestly, she should probably be grateful that the laws of physics currently seem to still be working, and so on; but Luna is intrigued by the magical goings-on.]
no subject
[She purses her lips though. Thinking on it.]
Although she did say that we'd have to prove that she didn't kill someone.

no subject
... Yeah, she has. But, I'll be exploring it a little closer, later.
no subject
[It gets a head tilt.]
That doesn't sound like a good idea. If it was a normal forest, yes. But this one...
[She wasn't sure if witches did the same things to their forests as fairies did. But if they did, it wouldn't be nice.]
no subject
Wouldn't be the most dangerous place I've been to.
[ And then there's an audible smirk given just before: ]
Besides, nobody's stopping you from staying here where it's clearly super safe and sound, just because I'm going out there.
[ ... this jerk. ]
no subject
If Scarred was her sister, she'd call him a brat. But she's not. So she won't.]
Wandering a forest that's under a witches control won't get you anywhere. If she knows what she's doing...Not without whatever magic you posses.
[She summoned them here, so Scarred is going to assume that she does.]
no subject
It's better than sitting around, doing nothing, right now.
no subject
[But she can't really stop him. She's strong, yes. But she doesn't have a sword or her magic.]
There is a chance that no matter which path you take, it will just return you here.
no subject
That counts as sitting around and doing nothing.
[ But then there's a small smirk. ]
And, if it does just return me here, then we'll actually know that for sure, after the fact, won't we?
no subject
[Until you die of starvation. Because witches and fairies are nice like that.]
I hope you return safely.

The Forest
[He noticed her putting her hand against a tree and muttering about things being blocked. He had to go ask.]
Excuse me, what were you trying to do with the tree?
no subject
I was trying to sense the ether within it. But I can't feel anything. Even a dead tree would feel of something.
no subject
The ether? What do you mean?
no subject
no subject
So... You were trying to make the trees do something?
no subject
It's unlikely they'd have anything to tell me about where are. They're not as mobile as the sprites in the air, but they're a lot more solid.
no subject
Wait, what's a sprite?
no subject
This is going to happen a lot isn't it. [She's not upset by it. But she wasn't expecting no one to know about it.]
It's the soul of it. That's the easiest way to explain it... If there are things like that where you are from?
