Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.
Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.
There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...
Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.
So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.
((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.
This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

Ah, is this the next step in how my legend unfolds? The hero finds himself stranded within a white wood. Fortunately, not alone, but without any sort of guidance on what steps to take next. However! This does not discourage me! The scion of legend will rise up, and blaze a trail to uncover the source of this mystery! I will heat up and--
[ He pauses, dropping his hand, coming to a rest on the hilt of the sword strapped to his waist. ]
Wait, wait, no that's not any good. Heat references are too obvious. Ugh, maybe I should start my intro over?
[ is he ok? probably not. ]

Minato would clap, but it's too cold to tug his hands out of his pockets, so instead, Owain gets the most deadpan:]
Pretty cool.
[Hm...]
I'm kind of disappointed I didn't get to hear the rest.
no subject
[ he stumbles slightly as he's interrupted, but corrects himself easily enough, giving minato a small wave. ]
Unfortunately, the rest of my heroic introduction would need to wait until I come up with something better than heat to overcome the snow.
no subject
[A shrug.]
I can be patient. I'll be eager to see what you come up with.

But there's no better time for a heroic introduction than when we're in danger...?

If you really want to start the intro over... go ahead? [ Inaba is trying so hard to be polite. So hard. ]

No, no, I need something better than heat to continue it. It'll just need to wait for now.

Blue Angel would normally ignore anything that sounds like someone trying too hard to sound cool or some kind of telemarketer or spammer (even Link VRAINS has them, as any virtual space must), because it's not her job to report them and she's normally too busy. But in a place like this? It's harder to ignore.
She cocks her brow at the strange dude with the sword. At least they're both dressed funny, kind of like she expects people to dress in the virtual world when they talk like that.]
Maybe you should have done a better dress rehearsal. You're not very good at improv, are you?
no subject
[ wow called out again? not a good day for owain ]
Well, normally, yes. But even with everything I've been through, this is a bit strange situation to find yourself in. I wanted something better than just heat to go along with that introduciton.
no subject
Hmm. You've never been in a blizzard?
[She. May be in another reality bubble of her own where VR is confusing to distinguish from reality, so they're really going to be productive at dealing with the situation at hand here.]
Let me give you some advice, okay? If you mess up, the most important thing is to keep going like you didn't! Do-overs are pretty uncool, you know?
[And while she's been pretty low-key for someone dressed like she is, here she pulls out a smidge of that idol persona to wink conspiratorially.]

[ he's running up to his dear bosom buddy when he catches sight of the mini-wyvern ]
Is... that Minerva? Did she shrink too?
no subject
She did. [ He grimaces, deeply pained by this. This is exactly the reaction this level of treachery deserves. ] No doubt it's the work of a hex, one I'm incapable of breaking on my own. [ Curse his lack of affinity with magic. He does, however, look at Owain somewhat expectantly.
Or at least as expectantly as a man in a mask can look at someone when they don't really know what to think of the person they're looking at. ]

[Normally Tsumugi would sort of side eye this behavior in a serious situation... but her otaku heart squees at such an passionate monologue.]
I'm not sure now is the time to monologue... but I can't fault such spirit! Maybe try going for 'I will rise like the morning sun to illuminate the truth of this perilous situation and melt away all falsehoods!' instead? A sun deference still gets the idea of heat across, but also leads into another declaration of solving the mystery of this situation!
no subject
Thank you for this brilliant metaphor!
no subject
No, ummm.... thank you for liking it! I'm just glad to help you finish your monologue! It sounded like the kind of speech a hero would give in preview for the next episode.... and... well! It got my otaku heart pumping and I couldn't bear to leave it unfinished!

Leaving everything up to you, legendary hero.
[Not really. Iwai hopes Owain's speech is more than just hot air, but he sure won't put his leave everything to him]
