Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.
Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.
There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...
Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.
So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.
((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.
This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

[Of course something's wrong: not the waking up part, though that's surprising, because she knows what it feels like to wake up without waking up, so to speak. It's the cold. The knowledge that feeling probably shouldn't be there, all things considered. It's not really an ignorable cold, either.
Blue Angel sits up in the snow, and while normally it would be pretty easy to spot her in all her cotton-candy colored glory, her magical girl colors are a little more muted in the landscape. Maybe the setting decided that a bit more camouflage was necessary, or maybe there's just a cosmic joke at work, because she is dressed in something like this but with this hood because it's cuter. Also there's a pair of pastel-ass wings sticking out the back, because those can't be tamed.
The most important thing here is that her legs are fucking cold. She curls up a bit and puts her more insulated arms around them as she looks around, a little ruffled and baffled but alert.]
... I don't recognize this area. Did I get thrown out somehow? I don't remember... Ugh. And what am I wearing?
[That's to both the outfit and the gusts of biting wind hitting her in the face. After a moment or two longer of hugging herself, she grits her teeth and stands up. There's a wave of her hand, and a pastel-ass hoverboard appears out of nowhere. Looks like she's going for a ride? Between her skirt and the wings, she might be able to fit one or two more people on there if they huddle, but do you really want to get on a hoverboard with a stranger dressed like a birdly cupcake??]

[That's... just plain strange. More importantly though... Tsumugi glances at the other girl's legs.]
Will your legs be alright? It's pretty cold out here.

[It's a reflexive answer, because as much as a onesie would actually be warmer, Blue Angel wouldn't be caught dead in one. At least, she really hopes not; she pauses in adjusting her position on her board, trying to find the most stable stance from which to brave the winds they're traveling through.
If she weren't intent on investigating the surroundings, she'd definitely not be standing the way she is, but she'll conserve heat later.]
And the sooner we find someplace to stop, the sooner we can all get out of the cold.
[Including her poor ol' knees. A moment later, she's darted up through the drafts and snow to try and get a bird's eye view. Wait for her to descend?]
no subject
Did you see anywhere we could take shelter?
no subject
... Nothing right now, but visibility isn't good, and my avatar isn't made for things like this.
[Recon, she means, but since she's still rubbing feeling back into her extremities and keeping her teeth from chattering she's being brief.]
But it looks like this road goes on for a while.
no subject
Well... it's disappointing to hear that, but umm... Avatar?
no subject
[That's the hope that springs eternal in weather like this. Either way, she's definitely dealt with worse winds, so there's no uncertainty to her planning or declarations despite the snow still piling up around and probably on them. Granted, she is now speaking from a cocoon of penguin-themed winterwear, so it's slightly muffled.
She turns her head a little at the question, blinking a couple of times as though absorbing it.]
... This one. It's just for dueling, though I guess you wouldn't be able to tell from its appearance.
no subject
[A long pause.]
.... Your outfit?
[She can't be referring to her body, right?]
no subject
[Because at least it goes a little ways towards that. Not all the way, as established, but she'll give partial credit where credit is due and complain properly later, once she's not in actual danger of being frozen to her D-board. Speaking of which, she shifts a little bit to make sure that's not happening.
Long story short, she's definitely referring to her body.]
no subject
You... meant your body then. When you said Avatar.... right?
no subject
[Said in the 'why is this even a question' sort of tone. It feels a little weird to refer to her avatar as her body, but whatever.]
no subject
[Another Pause.]
I... think? But um... okay?
[There's more important things to deal with right now.]
no subject
[She gently pats her hoverboard. Which is definitely hovering, and which was hovering even higher a few moments ago. So really, she's not sure what else you would call this. It could, of course, be a hallucination or a near-death experience -- but that doesn't help her make any sense of it either.
Sometimes even a virtual blizzard is just a virtual blizzard.]
no subject
[It'd... be rather impossible considering what she last remembers.]
no subject
[Of course, it's not like her own situation back home made a lot of sense or had any precedents either, so it's not like she can rule out that whatever the hell is going on here has nothing to do with Link VRAINS or that something weird has happened to her avatar. Or the entire virtual world.
That's not out of the realm of possibility at all.
She just doesn't know what that means for those she left, or those she's just met.]
But I guess... [slowly, feeling her way through the logic that doesn't quite feel like logic] Whether or not this is the virtual reality I know, we still need to figure out where we are. And get out of here.
[...]
So, where did you come from?
Implied NDRV3 Spoilers
[An uncomfortable look flashes across Tsumugi's face at Blue Angel's next question. Tsumugi mentally debates how much to share before settling on an response.]
A dream job turned nightmare.
[.....]
no subject
So then, you're not in a hurry to go back?
[Though she's understandably in a hurry to get away from the here and now.]

[It's not like the rest of the group is quiet about their confusion and complaints, though Blue Angel's been pretty absorbed in her own problems and the whole hoverboard dealio. Snow and ice is already building up on it even as she scans her surroundings, trying to figure out where to go look, and she stamps her feet a little both to clean her board and keep warm.
Katherine gets a brief glance before she goes back to it.]
I don't know if we're just unlucky, or they put all of us together to start off.
[Those new to an area would be grouped together, but usually it's not quite this chaotic. She's genuinely not sure how she should be taking this situation, so she's going with what she knows.]
no subject
How did you do made that appear like that? Was it magic? [she just points towards the hoverboard]
no subject
[So it could go either way. She doesn't have extremely high expectations of people, but since no one's blown themselves up or fallen off the mountain yet, she's going to cautiously assume that she can have expectations. Please don't make them even lower, guys.
She takes a moment to look between Katherine's pointing finger and the board and then... tilts her head in confusion.]
... This isn't magic. This is just an item that I've had for a while. It doesn't work as well in an area like this, but I always have it as a default.
no subject
[katherine just gives her a curious look hearing the explanation] So how did you make it appear out of thin air like that?
no subject
[She pauses for a moment over how to explain it, because honestly she's never had to explain this system -- everyone already knew how it worked.]
It's stored in my inventory. It's a lot more convenient than pockets.
[Especially now. Like, jeez, yeah, she's had to contend with some crazy virtual environments, but getting dumped in a snowstorm is still not in her top ten.]
