Things had changed so rapidly in the past few days.

The loss of two of them hung over like a shroud, made even worse by the fact that an innocent person had been executed.

....Even if it was, there wasn't much they could do now. Yuuko herself hasn't shown up in public since the trial, and while some have talked to her, she's been...subdued.

Did the trial hurt her just as much as them?

Regardless, the island is still beautiful, if deadly. Summer continues, beaming down on all of them, the waves of the sea warm and inviting.

But even if things look bleak...

They have something in their hands that will soon lead to the Truth, and the heart of this matter.

And in the air...lies a heavy sense that everything is about to change.

I pride myself on it, and it is a useful aspect for a detective, however I feel with how it's burned into my memory that even a goldfish would recall it.

Especially with the sight I saw after awakening.

An Apparition, it is the best way to describe the figure... all white, feet trailing of.

[There was a subtle shift in his demeanor, while his actual tone of voice was calm, there was a rawness, somewhat hoarse quality in his voice that wasn't there before, his eyes widening slightly, glistening, his lashes looking wet]

I couldn't see her clearly, but I knew it was a girl... or a woman before me, crying, crying so much... and she whispered so softly.

"Please..." and then "me", there was another word was in between, but I could mot make it out... then she vanished -

[He cuts himself off with a sudden sob, his eyes going wide in shock as he clamps a hand over his mouth, only just becoming aware that he had been crying, the tears flowing freely]

[He answers, trying to be assuring, confusion mixing into his voice as he rubs his face]

But this feeling is like what I felt when I had awoken, as if I am grieving, and had been for a long time with no end in sight...

The pages are still blank, but I believe, given it happened after I had put the book under my pillow - that what I saw and felt is deeply connected to the book.

Even if a book's pages are blank, the book itself can still hold power, too... maybe it's something like that.

'Fragments' is just another word for 'other worlds' when she used it like that. I don't think we're supposed to put entire worlds into that book. Even one wouldn't fit.

Haha, well, I think it might not be in the sense that Yuuko uses. Syaoran said that she can't even see or do anything with the Epitaph.

And we still don't know who actually put it there too. The book might not be from either witch as well.
