MOCK ROUND - WEEK 2

There was only one week left in this game, if the Witch was to be believed.

Despite the trial and it's painful conclusion, everything had been quiet over the weekend.

And those that had been lost were supposed to come back on this day. Not only that, but their natural abilities were supposed to return to them this week...🗈

And, indeed, as they wake up on Monday morning - the feeling of their old, lost abilities filters back in.

One promise kept - so will the others be kept, as well? As the prospect of the final week in the game stretches out before them, there's a sense of anticipation in the air...along with the grim knowledge that this weekend, the investigation and trial will happen again.

At least it'll be for the last time, right?

[Luna's going to go over and examine the lock, after glancing around for the source of the noise. What the heck is that.]

Is this a goat family feud...?

[The lock is a normal lock, and easily broken, but....

You also can't tell what the source of the noise is.]

If you want to help me, then I'd appreciate it...just like my senpai always did! I'm going to remember them as I'm fighting off Aniki for my little sister...And everything they did for me through our long, grueling training sessions! I'm sure it'll give me strength!

[There's a different ding noise when he says that. The ding sounds....more trumphant instead of ominous like the other noises have been.]

Oh, but....try not to break the lock, okay? Lady Lambdadelta said it's important to open it in a way that doesn't break it, and told us to treat the lock like we would our own lives.

Whoa whoa whoa. It sounds like you're going off to go die. You should instead think positively and keep your mind on the current task.

[ And hmmm... okay let's not break it then. ]

Hmmm... Don't break it, huh? I can try!

[Silver holds his hand out and the lock glows teal. If it's just a normal lock, then he's going to start fiddling with the pins and springs]

Your lady does like her challenges, doesn't she?

[Luna is side-eyeing the lock, but then she just shrugs and steps away to let Silver have fun with it. Their other option is simply removing the shed door, but they should probably save that for a last resort.

No need to have a repeat of Rikugate!

Anyway, she's also paying attention to the dings, curiously.]

[the lock is normal, so it doesn't take long for it to unlock.

Giving a joyful bleat, the Goat goes inside....And then makes an unhappy noise, staring at the chainsaw - which is out of gas.]

Oh no - he must have emptied this chainsaw beforehand! If I go to him with this...I'll never rescue my Imouto! Even though....even though I have only a few more days before I retire!

I have to see her again...if I don't, I never will again....because when I retire, I...I'm going to confess to the person I love! But only after...only after I defeat Aniki!

Luna glances at the cheerleader squad next to her with some kind of bemusement.]

Are you sure you need to have a chainsaw duel? Your opponent seems to have prepared very well for this. You could use better strategy, little goat.

[The Goat seems to take in the cheering and seems to relax a little, which causes the triumphant ding to echo out.]

Ah, we don't have a lawnmower, since we tend to keep the grounds pretty well maintained.

I've never considered anything else, though...in our family, chainsaws are the only way to duel honorably. If I used something else, I'm sure Aniki would say it's disgraceful, and my little sister might never want to see me again...but I have to save her, even if...even if I don't come back...

[...and the bad ding rings out. welp.]

It seems to me that it would be difficult for your sister to shun you, or for you to take her to the park, if you aren't planning to come back. This is why I say you need a better strategy.

[A little shake of her head.

She can't even with these goats and their chainsaw kink??

Anyway, sure, let's just look for containers and start shaking them up to see if there's liquid inside or whatever.]

[There are some containers, but they mostly have liquid for maintaining the garden in them, and not gasoline.

But at the encouragement, Goat-kun nods.]

...I know. Dad always used to say that I looked on the negative side of life...and that I was stronger than I thought I was. He always believed in me....same with my little sister, which is why I want to save her so badly.

...I do want to come back. I want to keep living! And Aniki...I want him to go back to the way he was before! I just....don't know if I'm strong enough...

[There's no dings, but it feels like they're at a crossroads where they need to choose their words wisely....]

Hey, you got this. Gotta keep positive. If you keep positive, you can picture a brighter outcome, right? If it'll help, we can do a bit of a warm-up. Make sure you're nice and loose for the upcoming fight.

[She looks back innocently and raises a nigh-invisible eyebrow, eyes flicking to his hand where he was holding his katana the last time. She's not psychic, but she is not-so-subtly suggesting Jack not try and fake-stab the poor thing.]

[This goat is determined - and another good ding rings out.

[Takashi makes an interests sound... and puts the little goat down and rummages in his pockets for his wallet. Once he finds it he hands over all the gold coins he had on him when he was brought here and hands them to the kid, whispering in his ear and sending him off.]

[Luna looks consideringly between the training montage children and the goat, and then... smiles beatifically and comes over to Takashi.]
