MOCK ROUND - WEEK 2

There was only one week left in this game, if the Witch was to be believed.

Despite the trial and it's painful conclusion, everything had been quiet over the weekend.

And those that had been lost were supposed to come back on this day. Not only that, but their natural abilities were supposed to return to them this week...🗈

And, indeed, as they wake up on Monday morning - the feeling of their old, lost abilities filters back in.

One promise kept - so will the others be kept, as well? As the prospect of the final week in the game stretches out before them, there's a sense of anticipation in the air...along with the grim knowledge that this weekend, the investigation and trial will happen again.

At least it'll be for the last time, right?

[When everyone gets to the dining all, Lambdadelta is there - along with Riku and Vanitas, sitting at the table. They both look perfectly fine, with no changes to them.]

Ah, there you guys are. Sit down, I've got a few things to say.

[Without waiting for them to sit, she continues.]

First off, you've got your powers back now - or you should have them, anyway. I can't help you if they don't work or it's faulty for some other reason, okay?

Secondly, someone decided not to play - so I sent her back to her world. Luckily, Bern came by to drop off someone, so I'm happy to introduce Erika Furudo!

[There's....no one there, and she cackles.]

...Well, whenever she wakes up, that is. I guess Bern hadn't dusted her off in a while~

Anyway, on Wednesday there'll be something for all of you to do, so keep an eye out for that. A host has to keep her guests entertained, you know? Oh, and I'm going to be changing a few things come Trial time, but it's nothing you need to worry about right now. Just know I won't be taking it easy on you this time~

[The Goats begin to come in with food, and she nods.]

Enjoy your breakfast!

[Later on, she can be seen floating in the halls like always, if you want to talk to her.]

[ Vanitas isn't talking to anyone during breakfast - he's barely even looking at anyone.

As soon as breakfast is over, he's heading up to the library, where he'll be spending most of the day. There's a book in his lap, but he doesn't actually seem to be reading it? It's sort of just... sitting on that one page.

But, if that's not the place he's getting approached, there's the option of the beach, where he's having a staring contest with the ocean. He looks angry - frustrated? Yeah, maybe more that... It's hard to tell, though, with this kid.

Of course, then there's the reason he's out here. Out of nowhere, there's a pair of creatures appearing at his feet. He stares at them a moment before just...

... slicing right through them in one angry sweep with the Keyblade in his hand.

He grins. ]

[Silver seems relieved to see Vanitas and Riku, but he regards Lambda with a sour look, ears folded]

This food isn't made of people too, is it?

[because now he's QUESTIONING EVERYTHING]

[Lambda just giggles, not offended by his sour look.]

Nope! All of it is just normal food.

[ Upon seeing the two are there again, he'll visibly light up. Then he'll card his fingers through his hair, while glancing away. Let's just start digging into food, okay? ]

You're both looking lively.

[ Get it?

Later, he will be outside on the docks. Holding his hands at waist level as if he's holding something. He'll start moving a hand away, and then there's a red light and it forms into his katana. Drawing it out and then holding it to inspect it.

Jack gives it a couple of test swings to make sure it's perfectly alright before he lets out a loud phew. Putting it back into the sheath and plopping down. ]

Looks like everything is normal.

[He has his own reasons for visiting this place, but...

He also might have been keeping an eye on Vanitas' movements. It's still hard to believe he's really back, but the evidence is right in front of him, and he doesn't want to question it too hard.]

...I think I owe you a few things.

[ He quietly studies him for a few seconds, and then he's sighing and shaking his head. ]

You think you really have what it takes to grant the full wish?

There's no way to know unless you tell me what the full wish.

[But he's got power to back up his words, if nothing else.]

... Hmph.

[he levitates a bagel his way and then takes his leave.

HE'S NOT HAPPY WITH YOU. LAMBDA]

[ Sorry, Jack... He's not looking up. ]

[ Wow? ]

Hey, is anyone home?

[ You know... he has long legs. So just going to reach with them under the table to poke at what's HOPEFULLY Vanitas' legs. It's weird seeing him so... demure? ]

[ That manages to do it!

He's grumbling, his gaze finally snapping up and over to Jack. Enjoy that annoyed look! ]

Of course I look lively, idiot.

[ Please hold while he just takes a long sip of coffee, leaving it at that. ]

[Silver can float again. Despite that, he walks with his actual feet down to the beach.

And plops down wordlessly in the sand next to Vanitas, also staring out at the water]

[ Much better. Giving a grin for a moment, and then just going to take a big mouthful of food. ]

You know, someone was super mad you were gone.

[ Someone that starts with a 'T' and rhymes with Sakashi. ]

[ That just gets a grim kind of smirk out of him. He looks back down at the book for a moment, and then stands with a sigh. ]

Guess there's no point hiding what I am from you guys, after everything.

[ He's putting some space between them... and then he's calling out one of these alongside one of these.

With his arms folded over his chest, he gives a vague gesture towards the latter of the Unversed. ]

These creatures are directly part of me. [ slicing right through the bird-shaped one with his Keyblade ] As soon as they're killed, I reabsorb them.

[ Unversed number one gets to live, for now. It's watching Asuma closely, though... ]

It's like this because I'm not a full person. I'm all the darkness that existed inside someone named Ventus.

[He tenses at the appearance of the Unversed, but doesn't budge from his place, even as the bird is destroyed again.]

The darkness... [A fairly abstract idea, but he can work with that. Magic has its rules, but there's all manner of ways to manipulate power to achieve what you want. Where some use circles, others use conjuration, and so on and so forth.

How lucky it is that this very library has books on the subject, too.]

So in order to stop the pain, what would need to be done?

[ He remains quiet for a long while... ]

... Regret playing this game?

[Silver picks up some sand in his hand and lets is fall out through his fingers as he speaks]

... Maybe a little.

[he dusts his gloves off]

... What about you? Do you regret it?

[Bruno was making his rounds, checking on the folks who died. So the witch did revive them... Somehow. If not Lambda, then one of the other two.]

Vanitas, right? [He's trying not to interrupt, but...] Are you doing alright?

[ ... Still so determined, huh? ]

I'd need to become a whole person.

[ Buuuut... It's more than that, if the way he's settling on top of a table, ready to continue talking, is any indication. ]

For that to happen, as things stand, Ventus has to become strong - and willing to rejoin me. My Master has a plan, but there wasn't any point in letting an offer go to waste. My goal was to create a backup solution for just in case things went south.

[ He folds his arms over his chest. ]

So, in the end, it all boils down to this: make Ventus stronger and give him even more of an incentive to join with me.

[Sure enough, Riku and Vanitas are back. Bruno's not entirely sure how to feel about that, but... A new player?]

Bern? [Bruno decides to ask about her first.] I'm assuming she's a friend of yours?
