MOCK ROUND - WEEK 1 INVESTIGATION

It had almost been a week since everyone had been brought here.
The days had gone by with no hint of trouble, not from the Witch, or any of her servants. It almost seemed like nothing would happen after all.

Yet, as everyone woke up...something felt different.
It felt...like they were about to take a step into the darkness.🗈

Like they were going to see something that shouldn't be seen....or feel something that shouldn't be felt.

This....was a fake game, right...? Then why....was there this ominous feeling? Like something nearby was just...waiting for them to stumble the right way, bringing them closer to it's hungry mouth...

...

No matter what it is, though, they had to step forward.

They had....to finally, truly start this game.

[WELL.

One of the rooms smells heavily of blood. Another smells kind of like blood, like there's only a little inside.

Where would bruno go first?]

[The heavier smelling one makes more sense.

Whose room is it, and is the door locked?]

The nameplate on the door reads Riku.]

... [He knocks on the door.]

Hello? Riku? Are you alright in there?

[Most definitely not, is what Bruno thinks, but better make sure before he barges into someone else's room.]

[Only Silence answers him.]

[beastlybruno]

[Knock, knock, knock...]

... Great, there's no other way to check...

[Bruno's going to use that mutant strength of his to tear down the door.]

[OKAY, I GUESS THIS IS HAPPENING NOW.

The door makes an awful noise as Bruno rips it from the hinges, and as he pulls it free...

The smell of blood grows strong enough for everyone to smell it, as a body falls backwards and onto the floor, limbs limp and head falling to the side.

However...there's no mistaking who this is, not for a second - that longish silver hair is an immediate giveaway.

Riku is dead.]

[Hi Bruno, guess who just broke into the window and is seeing this nasty shit happen? This guy]

... gross.

[Sorry, he'll have to pay for the damages somehow.]

GAH! [Bruno steps back as the corpse spills onto the floor. A real, bleeding corpse.

He grits his teeth, thinking about that witch's promise, but looks up to see if anyone else is around.]

[Takashi crawls the rest of the way in the window and cracks his neck]

Looks like you found the prize, huh?

[Oh joy, the sketchy red tape fellow is here too. Better than nobody at all.]

... Some prize. I take it you just got here too?

Yeah. Better take a look.

[He walks over to the body and kinda... prods it. What can he tell from looking at poor Riku?]

[Well, quite a bit!

First off, there are two wounds on his body - one in his stomach and the other on his chest.

His hand also has a wound on it, though it's hard to tell from this angle.

If there's anything on his face or head, it's nearly impossible to tell without turning it - his head is to the side, and all that hair practically covers it.]

[He checks the hand first- he's certainly killed enough people by now to know wounds, is it defensive?]

[Sure looks like it! It's a wide wound, and it goes all the way through the hand, from the palm to the back. This would have destroyed some muscles in the hand if Riku had survived, that's for sure.]

[It's a wide wound... like from something thick like his new stake, or like from a big knife?]

[He's able to see, with his experience, that it looks like...

It's from a knife. Hard to tell what kind, but something with a wide blade....like a kitchen knife, maybe.]

Going for the classic. Let's see what else they did to you kiddo.

[Let's go for the torso wounds next, shall we? Stomache first]

[It's...well, it's a wound. The issue here is that it's hard to tell what kind of wound it is. It looks a little like a knife wound, but...also kind of weird at the same time.

Though it looks like that this wasn't what killed Riku, despite it probably severing a few important blood vessels.]

[Bruno lets Takashi check the body while he leans the door against the wall... Anything unusual about the side that was facing into the room when it wasn't ripped off the hinges?]

[First off, was Bruno holding the door this entire time, or did he throw it down out of shock first?]

[He was holding it the whole time.]

[WELL THEN.

He'll notice blood around the doornob, first off. It's all dry by this time, though.

There's also....words? on the door, written in blood.

....Is that last one an l, or...?]

[Thankfully not splattered around the floor...

He's gonna leave the bloody side up for anyone else to look at, but he remembers that other door that smelled faintly of blood.

He realizes that's gonna be harder to find now that Riku's corpse is smelling up the place, but maybe the other half of the word is behind it?]

[Nope! He just finds this as he's sniffing.

So there's that. Is there anything else he's looking out for, scentwise?]
