MOCK ROUND - WEEK 1
All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.
Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a false murder mystery for two weeks.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?
There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.
Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request, to help ease the boredom of it all.
Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.
Yet, with only a fake game in front of them....there's no proper sense of foreboding, is there?
....But maybe all of this...
...Is just the calm before the storm.

room;
That hair, he'd know it from anywhere.
His hair hides his surprised expression with ease, and he feels so many conflicting emotions all at once. Is it Sora? No, it had to be him, even with the black hair, it might've been like how he'd been stuck in Ansem's form and that's why he looked so different.
If that's true, maybe Sora had his own issues with darkness, and would this mean he was too ashamed to tell Riku it was him? But he never thought Sora would have any issues with that type of thing. So many questions are running through his head at warp speed that he can barely wrap his head around them.
But, he forces himself to step forward and say something - ]
...Sora? Is that you?
no subject
Huh?
[ He's just staring at the guy now. ]
Did you hit your head, or something? It's Vanitas, you idiot.
no subject
I thought you were someone else for a moment. [ ... ] You look just like him without that helmet—like Sora.
[ But he's bothered. The likeness can't just be a coincidence? ]
Have you met him before?
no subject
But, in the end, he manages to just shrug a shoulder. ]
Can't say I have.
[ He gives a faint smirk. ]
Friend of yours?
[ Something bitter lurks within that first word. . . but it's probably nothing. ]
no subject
His hair is brown instead of black and he has blue eyes. He's also got this big smile on his face almost all the time—you'd be able to spot him a mile away.
[ But now, Vanitas has his attention, and though he's not Sora, he thinks he'll keep an eye on him. Not because of anything negative in particular, but it's a selfish reason.
But, if...he looks like Sora, there's something else on his mind. ]
Have you ever heard of the Keyblade, Vanitas?
no subject
Well, in the end, maybe it's not too much of a shocker that Riku is asking that after recognizing him. Also, he's glancing over his shoulder at his nameplate - observant, too, huh? ]
Yes. [ . . . ] I'm guessing you can use one, too, then?
no subject
[ In a way, Riku is comforted by the knowledge of another Keyblade Wielder here, since he's assuming the same of Vanitas. And...though he recalls Vanitas' earlier interesting impression he's made, Riku's sure it's not like it's impossible for them to work together. Someone he could likely end up relying on, and vice versa. ]
no subject
Yeah.
[ For the moment, he's calm as he asks, genuinely curious: ]
How long have you been one?
no subject
I'd say...two or three years by now. It hasn't been easy, but I'm sure you know the feeling.
[ But of course, Riku's curious about Vanitas too. So it's only natural he asks the same question. ]
What about you?
no subject
Five years, give or take.
[ He folds his arms over his chest, looking towards the middle distance for a moment. ]
Do you like it? ... Being a Keyblade wielder.
no subject
But, oh well. They met up now, so that has to count for something, right? On the other hand, the question does give him more to think about. About whether or not he does like being a Keyblade Wielder. It's...hmm. ]
... Yes and no.
At first, I'd thought I had it all figured out, but I learned the hard way that I'd had a long ways to go. Still do.
[ ... ]
And you? Do you enjoy it?
no subject
It gives me a purpose.
no subject
...A purpose? What kind of purpose?
no subject
Survive 'til the end of this thing and maybe I'll tell you.
no subject
Just a maybe? [ ... ] Either way, it shouldn't be too hard for me to make it to the end of this.
[ He's not going to make it easy for just anyone to kill him. ]
no subject
Fine. I'll definitely tell you.
[ But, also? There's some intrigue at Riku's words, and a small grin of amusement surfaces. ]
A tough guy, huh?
no subject
I wouldn't say that; I'm not about to go around bragging I'm the strongest or anything. But, I'm capable enough to hold my own.
[ And he doesn't think he'd just let anyone in with him privately when it was most assuredly time for someone to act. Unless the person uh. Had Sora's face apparently so RIP. ]
no subject
I'll have to test it out sometime.
[ There's a vague wave of his hand. ]
On the beach, maybe. [ grin shifting back to a smirk ] If you think you're up for the challenge.
no subject
I'm always up for a challenge. Just name the time, and I'll be there.
no subject
So far, I've already got things I wanna do tomorrow and the day after. [ a beat ] I should be free after that, though. Maybe after lunch.
