Intro log: Welcome to The Resort!

Before you even open your eyes, you can tell something is not right. It's cold. Not quite unbearably so, but cold enough that you can take notice of it. And as soon as you open your eyes, you will be able to see why it's so cold: you're in the middle of a snowy forest, with only a single two-lane road cutting through the thick trees.
Unfortunately, you seem to be without transportation. Fortunately, you are wearing warm clothes and snow gear, so freezing isn't an immediate problem. But without transportation, you're in for a long walk ahead of you.
There are others around as well. Other people, just as lost and confused as you are. Everyone seems to be lacking any memory that might explain why everyone is here. As far as anyone knows, all of you were just ripped out of your previous lives and dumped here on this snowy road, wearing snow gear and having any items that are important to you already on hand. And for some of you, you even have a new power, one that you somehow instantly know how to use...
Two ways to go: forward and back. Despite having no indication of which way is the 'right' way, you feel drawn towards one direction in particular. Going 'back' is possible, but you get the feeling that you will be even more lost if you try. And given that you have no food or water on you, it's best to keep moving forward.
So, are you ready to walk? Because you have a long road ahead of you.
((Welcome to The Resort! Your characters will have any objects or animals with them that they should have given their canon point, but are dressed in cold weather clothing.
This prompt is just the first part of the intro log. New top-levels will go up over the course of the weekend as everyone progresses from 'where the hell am I?' to the resort proper, and to getting settled in. For now, just start with this prompt. We'll link further updates here for easy access.))

Out of the way.
[ Maybe someone was standing there, back to Vanitas, or maybe they were about to ask him a question. Either way, he's trying to storm past them, possibly outright shoving them to accomplish that.
Later on, maybe that someone will be the one to spot him with his arms briefly folded over his chest, an intense look on his face as a light flashes in front of him. If they get far enough past him to see, they'll get to see that he's staring hard at something in his hand... And it's a very large something that. resembles a key???
And that tension vanishes from his face whenever he glances over to whoever's standing there. Only the most observant will be able to see confusion and panic and frustration in his eyes. Even if they're someone he pushed out of the way, he won't be initiating a conversation, just yet. He sure will be staring hard at the person for a moment, though. ]

It's just, also, that he's pretty quick to follow after.]
Er... are you in a hurry...?
no subject
Nope. I just wanted to be able to cross off "shove the first idiot I see" from today's to-do list.
[ Internally, however, there's a screaming song of UGH...!!! Why is he following him!!!
... that doesn't remotely match the straight face as he very quietly sighs and comes to a pause. ]
Planning to pay me back or just that lonely?
no subject
No, it's nothing like that... but I'm not really sure any of us should be wandering off alone, either. It could be pretty dangerous.
no subject
I'm nobody to waste time worrying about.
[ And just. Going to continue walking now! ]
If you're gonna worry about anyone, it should be yourself.
no subject
[He can worry about himself and this grumpy guy at the same time!!]
Besides, I think that just makes me worry more. Do you mind if I come along?
no subject
You think it just makes you worry more?
[ And yet he hasn't answered that last question...
Hmmm...! ]

shove
[she rights herself and glares at the back of Vanitas's head.]
What's the deal, pal?
no subject
There's a smirk (as his back is still to her), and then he just gives the most nonchalant roll of his shoulders. ]
Ah, my bad. Guess I just didn't see you there.
[ Because he's awful, that's pretty much said to the tune of "just what're you gonna do about it~?" ]
no subject
Oh! Maybe I kinda blend into the snow a little. I gotta work on my presence, then!
[AND IT JUST GOES WHIZZING OVER HIS HEAD........]
no subject
Right... You do that, then.
[ What is with some of the people he's meeting. ]
Let me guess: you're a hero type.
no subject
no subject
It sure does.
[ It's so... deadpan... ]

key times;
[ His words kind of die in his throat because he only noticed the hair style out of the corner of his eyes before the hair color, before kind of just frowning because his eyes are now on the other's Keyblade. ]
...Who're you?
1/???
His body tenses, a confliction of emotions dimly clawing at the pit of his stomach; he slowly turns to face the source. ]
no subject
Of course...
done and I had a time trying to pick an icon for this exact moment
This is just the kind of place I'd wind up - where even the afterlife, or whatever-the-hell-this-is, mocks me! Who am I?
[ Even though the laughter is very definitely done, the look in his eyes hasn't faded. But, there's... something definitely missing. There's no indication he's going to be rushing the guy.
In fact, he kind of just... lets his arms drop. He's not even answering that damn question, apparently. The smirk on his lips is definitely more forced now. There's venom and... something disappointed and angry and generally conflicted lurking just beneath it. ]
No way am I kicking your ass while you can't even remember me, Ventus...
god bless
So he lingers, watching Vanitas' theatrics even before he speaks. At the very least, Roxas doesn't think the other is going to just attack him for no reason.
And then...he kind of wonders if Ventus is this guy's friend. But also, he can't believe the mistaken identity is happening like this. Mistaken identity round 2
his absolute worst nightmare. ]I'm not Ventus. I'm Roxas.
[ I'm me, no one else, he almost says out of a bit of frustration. ]
That's why I don't know who you are - you still haven't answered the question either.
it's a trainwreck already and I'm glad
Honestly, he hates how blind he feels in this place - blind and trapped...
Frustration momentarily mars his brow as he listens to the not-Ventus speak. Roxas...? His mind is scrambling with about a hundred different thoughts, all at once. Why does he have his face...?
Why is he trapped here with some guy that looks like him??
But he manages to take in a deep, slow breath. He holds it a moment. His gaze sharpens on this Roxas. ]
Vanitas.
[ His free hand is tightening into a fist, the one of his Keyblade tightening even more. If not for those red gloves that some random stranger put on him, along with the many layers of red and black he's stuck in, the whitening of his knuckles would be very telling. He wants to rush forward and... and...!!!
Augh...
It's after a moment, the Keyblade vanishes into a burst of light. He's feeling tempted to turn and walk away. Being around this guy is making him... uncomfortable, and he doesn't know why. Yet, instead of doing that, all he can do is stand there and look particularly tense with a hint of uncertainty in his eyes. ]
Same tbh...
...Finally, there's an answer out of this guy, and he's about to say something except for a moment he's watching Vanitas kind of have his own moment over there, not sure what to think of his turmoil. Now more or less because he's thinking it might be possible for the other to lash out, but it doesn't happen, and the Keyblade's out of sight.
That admittedly does get Roxas to relax some, even if it's not difficult to miss how tense Vanitas is. ]
...Vanitas, do you know anyone named Sora? And can you tell me more about Ventus?
[ It might be a long shot, because Roxas hasn't been inattentive of the Mistaken Identity problems and maybe it could extend to other people, but he's not seen that yet, so. ]

Umm...! Did you just...
[Give her a moment to just flail her hands in the direction of the Keyblade.]
H-how did you do that?!
no subject
But it isn't as though he didn't anything impressive - not to him or any other Keyblade user, anyway. ]
What? [ holding it up for her to get just the slightest closer look, if she wants ] This?
[ Slight shrug!! ]
It's just a Keyblade.
[ Now he's just. Going to make it vanish with a flash. ]
no subject
J-just a Keyblade!? How can you be so casual about it!? It's- It's-
[A noise between a squee and and babbling escapes Tsumugi. You know what. She is okay with this. She can deal with the major crisis this is causing her internally later. For now? Fangirling.]
Amazing!
no subject
... The world you come from must have been pretty boring, then.
[ With that, he's giving a soft sigh. He re-summons the Keyblade, his gaze still resting on her as he does. He manages to keep his expression seemingly nonchalant. ]
If you think this is that amazing, I'm almost worried about how you'd handle everything else I can do.
no subject
Well... you're not wrong. The most important thing in that world stopped airing... so yeah. It's definitely pretty boring now.
[A small laugh.]
It's embarrassing getting so excited over this.... but it's not everyday someone as plain as me sees things as extraordinary as this, you know?
[She's very clearly looking at every detail on the keyblade and mentally marking every detail and measurement. It's not everyday you actually get to reference the real thing if you ever want to make a prop for a fictional character.
Or.
Formerly fictional now.
Or.
Still fictional?
Tsumugi pushes that to the back of her mind again. Nerd out now, crisis later.]
