WEEK 4

The weekend that just passed was....frankly, a lot. Yet despite all odds, you somehow pulled out a win from the jaws of utter defeat. As you wake up feeling tired but happy, the speakers crackle to life with the voice of The Lady.

"Attention, Guests. This week, The game is temporarily suspended. This week, there will be no mafia kill. Take a break for your hard work."

And...indeed, it seems like this is a peace week. The Staff, after the disappearance of The Captain, are acting worse than they did last week - not only is there the blankness and the stuttering, but sometimes they even get orders wrong, with potentially hazardous results. Asking the Staff for things has become more dangerous and unreliable, but at least you meals are still good. Speaking of, The Chef has put a sign up on the door, reading "DO NOT TAKE KNIVES WITHOUT ASKING FIRST!! THAT MEANS YOU!!" written in big, angry letters. The resort also seems to be gearing up for Christmas - there are lights and trees scattered around the place, as well as mistletoe for couples to get their public displays of affection on. There's also some other holiday decorations around, for Kwanzaa and....something else you definitely have never seen before. The thing....wriggles, and you don't want to be around it for long.

The weather is still nothing, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Are you getting closer to the truth of this place, maybe? It's hard to say.

[ Roxas noticed the tucking of the journal, but he decides he can try asking about that a little later. Even if he's a teensy bit worried, all in all he had something to focus on for the moment, and then he's looking at Vanitas with kind of a small smile, feeling his cheeks heat up a little too. ]

Do you want to give it a try and follow tradition?

[ Asked in an innocent-sounding way of course. But he really wanted to give it a try with him, but also see if he could embarrass him a little. ]

[ A challenge of flustering one another, is it...? ... Or that's. Kind of how Vanitas is reading it, and Roxas gives good reactions, thanks.

In any case, the blond manages to have Vanitas blinking softly, looking like he's torn between two different responses... for a moment? The moment passes a little quickly. He narrows his eyes, a challenging smirk creeping onto his lips as he closes the space. If he's having any regrets at this point, like hell he's showing it. In fact...?

There's only a pause as he takes Roxas' chin. Then he boldly presses a kiss to Roxas' lips. ]

[ Roxas actually expected him to rise to the challenge, but not this quickly, and so that's why when Vanitas moves as quick as he does, it's easy to see the small bit of pleasant surprise on the blond's face. When the other's lips meet his, the blond could only return the kiss gently, but also kind of admittedly eagerly.

He didn't even realize that one of his hands had already moved to the back of the other, holding on tight to the back of the shirt as his face was undoubtedly very flushed...and forgetting that they were in public view too. ]

[ Ah... Being pulled close has him leaning a little more into the kiss, it would seem. He's sliding his arms around the blond, pulling him closer in return.

This is not what he expected kissing in public to feel like. But, after a heavy exhale, he pulls away. There's a hint of reluctance showing on his face.

His fairly red face.

Vanitas clears his throat, glancing to the side. There's just the hint of a small, amused smirk. Also, he hasn't actually removed his arms? ]

[ When Vanitas pulls away, Roxas realizes where they actually are again and the flush on his cheeks definitely is still present. ]

You sure rose to the challenge, didn't you?

[ Said quietly, but judging by the slight smile on his face and everything he didn't find the idea objectionable at all. Far from it. ]

[ There's the hint of a smirk after those words. ]

You expected anything less?

[ He pauses... and then he's leaning to press one more kiss to the corner of Roxas' lips. ]

I don't hear any complaints.

Hmm...maybe...

[ That flush is definitely not going away as his words are soft, sounding distracted when he's given another kiss, but he can't help those words that still sound kind of teasing. ]

Maybe it's because if I did complain it'd sound dumb when I kind of really liked it.

[ And guess what? Vanitas you are getting a nose kiss, congrats. ]

[ Those words have his face darkening a little more, though not as much as... that kiss to his nose. He blinks softly, and then gives a soft snort. He gently messes up Roxas' hair a little ]

Only kind of, huh?

[ Now, there's a strong air of teasing in his voice. Though, something else lurks just beneath the surface... Maybe, just maybe (see: profiles), some part of him craves being needed. ]

So, you wouldn't miss it at all if we just suddenly stopped?

[ Roxas doesn't mind the hair ruffle, he's even smiling, until he says those words, and then...well, that's not what he's expecting him to say. He knows - he thinks - Vanitas is joking, but they've just started this between the both of them, and he doesn't like the way those words sound even if they've hidden by a mask of playfulness. ]

...I don't want this to stop.

[ He reaches with a hand to touch Vanitas' cheek in a gentle caress before the smile faintly returns as that hand brushes aside a few locks from the side of his face, and Roxas is leaning in to give him another brief, but chaste kiss on his lips before pulling away. ]

I don't want to be with just anyone, Vanitas. You know that, don't you?

[ Congratulations, Roxas!!! You've managed to completely, utterly crumble one (1) Mask of Vanitas for an entire two (2) seconds. Meaning, for that couple of seconds, he's staring in solid disbelief, his face a pretty impressive dark shade of red, given... Vanitas. ]

[ He manages a faint smirk, though there's something a tad bit softer to it, this time. There's only an exasperated shake of his head — definitely not the kind that would be used in answering that question. No, instead, of answering the question, he's moving forward, kissing the blond with a much firmer kiss... and then pulling away just enough to speak. ]

Good...

[ That is absolutely a cute blush, and Roxas hopes to someday make him blush like that again - it was well worth speaking those words, which came from deep in his heart. So, when Vanitas kisses him again, he totally had leaned forward into it until the other had pulled away.

At that, Roxas' smile can only widen, his gaze soft, and loving. ]

...You know you looked really cute just a moment ago, right?

[ Okay, look, he had to tease a little. ]

[ ENJOY THE HUFFY LOOK THAT SURFACES FOR JUST A BRIEF MOMENT, THEN...

He rolls his eyes, sighing as he reaches to lightly tug at Roxas' hair. ]

Yeah, right.

[ He's, like. A total unfeeling, unexpressive, stone-cold badass, thank you very much. He's got that Edgy title to keep up or something. ]

[ Yeah, okay. Behind the doors and even at the moment Roxas now has pictured him as the most adorable cuddly black bear. Dangerous, but cute.

He just laughs at that tug, and nudges him. ]

For real. I've got the moment all memorized so I'm definitely not forgetting anytime soon.

[ He gives the faintest of huff-like sighs. Then... he smirks. ]

Guess I'll just have to distract you from thinking about it, then.

Oh yeah? How're you going to do that?

[ ... Yes, Roxas is challenging Vanitas again, because why else wouldn't he be? ]

[ He's snatching Roxas towards him, kissing him firmly... and then pulling away with a small smirk. ]

You'll see. [ a beat ] Later.

[ Oh, that sure is a blush returning to his face right after... ]

...Okay. I'll hold you to it.

[ In before later is some silly nonsense. ]
