WEEK 4

The weekend that just passed was....frankly, a lot. Yet despite all odds, you somehow pulled out a win from the jaws of utter defeat. As you wake up feeling tired but happy, the speakers crackle to life with the voice of The Lady.

"Attention, Guests. This week, The game is temporarily suspended. This week, there will be no mafia kill. Take a break for your hard work."

And...indeed, it seems like this is a peace week. The Staff, after the disappearance of The Captain, are acting worse than they did last week - not only is there the blankness and the stuttering, but sometimes they even get orders wrong, with potentially hazardous results. Asking the Staff for things has become more dangerous and unreliable, but at least you meals are still good. Speaking of, The Chef has put a sign up on the door, reading "DO NOT TAKE KNIVES WITHOUT ASKING FIRST!! THAT MEANS YOU!!" written in big, angry letters. The resort also seems to be gearing up for Christmas - there are lights and trees scattered around the place, as well as mistletoe for couples to get their public displays of affection on. There's also some other holiday decorations around, for Kwanzaa and....something else you definitely have never seen before. The thing....wriggles, and you don't want to be around it for long.

The weather is still nothing, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Are you getting closer to the truth of this place, maybe? It's hard to say.

Yeah, and I'm used to being with the others. It's been kind of quiet without them.

Just who are all the others, anyway? You mention them, but I haven't been told all that much about them.

[ Looking up to meet his gaze. ]

Class Zero. We are all like a really big family and it feels like home with them.

[ Remember how she didn't feel like a complete person? ]

Why "Zero"?

Because One was already taken, and we're better than they are. Class Zero is a pretty big deal at school. Everyone was super jelly.

[ His eyebrows lift a little... and then lower a lot. ]

Super- jelly...?

We didn't have to take all the tests they did to get in. And we're going to be the ones that become Agito-

[ A pause and then she remembers. ]

Well, we came closer than anyone else.

Let's just start from the top.

[ A brief pause... ]

What does jelly even mean in this context?

They were jealous because we're super duper strong.

[ That's what it means. ]

He guesses he should have figured, given how Cinque usually shortens things, but. It's been one hell of a week, already. ]

What's Agito?

They are L'Cie who can kick the Judge's butt!

[ there's going to be a lot of new words ]

L'Cie are those chosen by the Crystal to carry out it's orders. They are really special.

[ SQUINT ]

Leh... See? [ h-he's trying ] What's the Crystal?

It's a big Crystal that's the source of all magic. There's four of them altogether- or there were four of them.

[ Which might confuse him more. Whoops. ]

There is one for each Crystal State in Orience. It's like how there's different worlds, but instead they are all on one Continent.

... What happened to the other three?

[ She'd said... Crystal, so he's assuming the other three are gone??? BUT?????? ]

So... the Crystals are supposed to make it so areas of a- continent that are all different enough to be separate worlds?

One of the other countries were super greedy and took them. Don't know what happened after that, but I do know their own wasn't going to last very long.

[ Which is pretty weird. ]

Yeah, pretty much. Like the mean Militesi are up in a place that's super cold. It's always snowing up there.
