WEEK 4

The weekend that just passed was....frankly, a lot. Yet despite all odds, you somehow pulled out a win from the jaws of utter defeat. As you wake up feeling tired but happy, the speakers crackle to life with the voice of The Lady.

"Attention, Guests. This week, The game is temporarily suspended. This week, there will be no mafia kill. Take a break for your hard work."

And...indeed, it seems like this is a peace week. The Staff, after the disappearance of The Captain, are acting worse than they did last week - not only is there the blankness and the stuttering, but sometimes they even get orders wrong, with potentially hazardous results. Asking the Staff for things has become more dangerous and unreliable, but at least you meals are still good. Speaking of, The Chef has put a sign up on the door, reading "DO NOT TAKE KNIVES WITHOUT ASKING FIRST!! THAT MEANS YOU!!" written in big, angry letters. The resort also seems to be gearing up for Christmas - there are lights and trees scattered around the place, as well as mistletoe for couples to get their public displays of affection on. There's also some other holiday decorations around, for Kwanzaa and....something else you definitely have never seen before. The thing....wriggles, and you don't want to be around it for long.

The weather is still nothing, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Are you getting closer to the truth of this place, maybe? It's hard to say.

[ Don't hold on to the mistletoe, Aoi. Cinque is just going to casually close the space between them, still wearing a smile. ]

You do know I snag a lot of those, riiiiight?

[ She doesn't seem to be making them appear though. ]

[She already knows that Cinque is up to mischief, it's just down to how well her EVA stat can meet it. She has a very good EVA stat. But.

She still dances back a little, cautiously.]

You're probably making the staff run around even though they're about to break down. What do you need that much mistletoe for?

To spread the cheer.

[ Hehehe. ]

Hey hey, Blueski. Do this for a moment!

[ Holding her hand up with her her fingers and thumbs pinched together. It almost looks like a T. rex head or something. ]

There's other ways to spread cheer, you know...

[That don't involve way too much kissing or canoodling or whatever in a holiday you'd usually spend with family or dates back home, but it's not like she participates in the dates part of that stuff. She's distracted by the weird hand motion, though.]

... Why am I doing that?

[Her free hand comes up, not to do the motion but to gesture at it in confusion??]

Oh. I guess there is. But this seems a lot more fun.

[ At least for now. And she's keeping it platonic.

Though at the question she'll make her own hand do the thing again. ]

You'll see, Blueski.

I guess...

[Pinching her thumb and fingers together and feeling real silly here.

Hurry up, because she ain't keeping this up for long.]

[ She moves in close and just presses the tips of their fingers together. Making the hands kiss. ]

I'm going to save the real one for when you like me again, Blueski.

I-- That's not--

[It's not the hand-kiss that flusters her -- it's a silly and Cinque-like way to solve this standoff, somehow, maybe a Cinqueling-like way too -- it's the words, because when Aoi reflexively goes to deny them she finds she can't do that, either.

Because while they're not exactly true, they're not exactly not true, either. She's quiet for a long moment, staring down at her feet.]

I don't hate you, you know?

[It's uncertain which one she's speaking to, though. Cinqueling is the most unified one and the one that confuses her the most.]

[ She shakes her head, letting her hand drop so she can touch the tips of her fingers together in her usual manner.

Her gaze drops down to her feet too. ]

I know, but you also like me any more. But it's okay... I know I have to show you who I am again. And I want to because I love Aoi.

[ And with that, she'll give a smile before moving away. ]

[She'll watch quietly as Cinque(ling) leaves. What she really hates is this strange suspended state they've found themselves in where they're not really going either way, friends or enemies or whatever, and she knows it's because of her and her inability to sort out her issues, too, but--

She lets out a slow sigh.]

If you can show me...

[It's completely to herself before she turns and moves in the opposite direction.]
