WEEK 4

The weekend that just passed was....frankly, a lot. Yet despite all odds, you somehow pulled out a win from the jaws of utter defeat. As you wake up feeling tired but happy, the speakers crackle to life with the voice of The Lady.

"Attention, Guests. This week, The game is temporarily suspended. This week, there will be no mafia kill. Take a break for your hard work."

And...indeed, it seems like this is a peace week. The Staff, after the disappearance of The Captain, are acting worse than they did last week - not only is there the blankness and the stuttering, but sometimes they even get orders wrong, with potentially hazardous results. Asking the Staff for things has become more dangerous and unreliable, but at least you meals are still good. Speaking of, The Chef has put a sign up on the door, reading "DO NOT TAKE KNIVES WITHOUT ASKING FIRST!! THAT MEANS YOU!!" written in big, angry letters. The resort also seems to be gearing up for Christmas - there are lights and trees scattered around the place, as well as mistletoe for couples to get their public displays of affection on. There's also some other holiday decorations around, for Kwanzaa and....something else you definitely have never seen before. The thing....wriggles, and you don't want to be around it for long.

The weather is still nothing, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Are you getting closer to the truth of this place, maybe? It's hard to say.

I don't really know too much about flower meanings, so I think I'll probably be choosing them on how they look or just their color.

[ There's plenty of yellow flowers probably, so he won't have too much trouble with that. Black and yellow... ]

How would we keep them together after picking the flowers, though?

Well, the easiest way is to use wire for the base, then use floral tape to put the flowers on. I guess we could ask the staff for some...

[Which takes time. Also, would they really let them have wire cutters?]

.... but there's also making it completely out of flowers. It's more difficult, since you need to braid the flowers' stems together as you go, but it's made completely out of flowers that way.

[ Roxas just shakes his head at that. Maybe wire cutters were simple enough for them to get from the staff without a hassle, but there was his stubbornness coming through.

He didn't like relying much on them anyway. ]

...Sometimes it's nice to have a little bit of a challenge. If we're able to make something nice with our own hands and from some hard work, it'll be much more satisfying, right?

Yeah, you're right. This way, you'll be able to do this with any stemmed flowers you find once we get out of here too.

[She turns back to the flowers.]

Right, when you pick your flowers, you're going to want them to have long stems.

[ He's going to look at the flowers now, and pick just one to start off with, twirling it between his fingers for a little bit. Then he'll take a few more.

So far they're bright and yellow, like the sun. ]

I think I got some. What do I do next?

[She's got her own flowers, dark blue ones.]

You put three of the flowers atop each other like this.

[Tsumugi crosses three of the flowers stems atop of each other, making the area they cross as close to the top as possible.]

[ Roxas follows suit, emulating her without too much trouble - it is just the beginning after all. ]

Got it. Was this a thing you did a lot of back home?

[ Asking her this while being ready to follow her next moments in their flower crown making progress. Roxas is intent on going with the whole their memories are their own copies or not. ]

No, not unless it was needed for a cosplay. Or... for a just for fun picture. Some people like to set pictures of their favorite characters wearing flower crowns as their icon online.

[She turns her attention to the flowers.]

Now you braid them for an inch before pausing.

[The braid is slowly done, so Roxas can follow and mimic her.]

[ Roxas bites his lip a little as he follows her movements, kind of awkwardly but that's to be expected as it's his first time doing any of this. ]

[A pause. Oh boy. She's going to need to explain the internet sometime, won't she.]

Umm... I'll explain the internet and what tags to avoid later, okay?

[Tsumugi narrates her actions as she does them, continuing slowly.]

Right, now you get another flower, place it where you paused braiding, braid it in, and it's just a matter of repeating that step over and over again until your chain is big enough to wrap around your head. I'll show you how to finish it once you get there, okay?

[ She is...ganba Tsumugi... ]

Okay, I'll be counting on you for that.

[ Anyway, he'll be watching as she does and listening in closely, and then - he gets a little impatient so he needs to start over again. ]

[A playful hum. Tsumugi starts going faster on her own chain, since she doesn't have to slow down for him anymore.]

[Red is really more his color, but the amusement at the idea is strong.]

[ All actions have consequences.

But sure, he'll nod at that. He can read through a pamphlet...as long as it isn't like reading through one of those super informative books!! ]

I'll catch up before that...probably.

[ He says 'probably' because he was just forced to slow down, but at the question, he'll smile a little. Actually, it's less a smile and more a grin. ]

...Yeah, make him one of those for sure. I'm sure he'd love it.

[And what consequences they are.]

It's great to hear that.

[A dark smirk of amusement forms on her face. She's still going at a good speed on her own chain.]

So, do you want to help me with it once you're done? I'm sure you'll know what flowers will get the most interesting reactions, right? right?

[She's not beyond teasing, and this is going to be fun.]

[ Looks like they're up to doing something fun, look out world! But hey, Roxas is actually making progress in his flower crown, so there is that as well. ]

There, see? I think I'm getting a hang of this.

[ ... ]

You bet I do, and you can trust me on knowing which ones to pick out that'd be the best. He won't even see it coming.

[ Roxas is definitely not a person above teasing, but also he's imagining Vanitas in a pink flowercrown...he's sure the other wouldn't put it on, however the image is so cute to him. ]

[A proud smile.]

It can be a joint gift from us. He can't refuse that, right?

[Her look turns considering. Vanitas in a flower crown... is an adorable image.]

I don't think we'll ever get another chance to see him in a flower crown... which is a plain shame, you know? It'd look cute on him.

...Something like that. It might be because I have someone who's good at teaching me things, though.

[ Definitely smiling at that, though. ]

He'd probably at least try, but maybe he'd accept it if we phrased it like that.

[ Isn't it...Roxas can't also help but think about the kind of reaction that'd happen. ]

Yeah, it'd probably wouldn't be something he'd want to wear more than once if at all.

[Tsumugi seems to think over the idea.]

Yeah... maybe we should give it to him next week then? Or sometime soon. We are using real flowers after all...

I'm just being honest. [ But, moving on... ] Next week sounds good enough to me.

[ Roxas is sure that waiting a week to surprise him with flowers is a good idea. ]

We can probably make it a later on if we're doing it that way.

Next week... Yeah, making it then sounds better- Oh!

[Her eyes light up as she gets an idea.]

We could give it to him as a joint Christmas gift!

[She was already planning on one for him and most others already, but, eh. Vanitas can get one more.]

A joint Christmas gift...wow, I think this will be my first time getting someone one at all.

[ Roxas begins to wonder if he should've thought about this some more...everything's been so insane lately that getting gifts hadn't even been on his mind. ]

Eh? Really?

[That gets something of a surprised look from her.]

Well, we'll need to make it an good one then, right?

Yeah, I know Christmas existed even before I came to a place like this. But, I never had time to even celebrate it, and so maybe that was kind of why.

[ Only had time for ice cream, missions, and spending a brief time with friends before things went to the shitter. Then the Foundation happened after that... ]

...So, for making up for lost time, we definitely should. Maybe we can even put a note written by the both of us with it too.
