WEEK 4

The weekend that just passed was....frankly, a lot. Yet despite all odds, you somehow pulled out a win from the jaws of utter defeat. As you wake up feeling tired but happy, the speakers crackle to life with the voice of The Lady.

"Attention, Guests. This week, The game is temporarily suspended. This week, there will be no mafia kill. Take a break for your hard work."

And...indeed, it seems like this is a peace week. The Staff, after the disappearance of The Captain, are acting worse than they did last week - not only is there the blankness and the stuttering, but sometimes they even get orders wrong, with potentially hazardous results. Asking the Staff for things has become more dangerous and unreliable, but at least you meals are still good. Speaking of, The Chef has put a sign up on the door, reading "DO NOT TAKE KNIVES WITHOUT ASKING FIRST!! THAT MEANS YOU!!" written in big, angry letters. The resort also seems to be gearing up for Christmas - there are lights and trees scattered around the place, as well as mistletoe for couples to get their public displays of affection on. There's also some other holiday decorations around, for Kwanzaa and....something else you definitely have never seen before. The thing....wriggles, and you don't want to be around it for long.

The weather is still nothing, except for the courtyard, which is still pleasantly snowy. There is still music playing in the halls, and the cover songs continue with some low-key music for the week.

On Monday morning, another memory is returned to everyone. Are you getting closer to the truth of this place, maybe? It's hard to say.

And then begins digging into the rest of it. ]

[Akira adjusts his glasses happily, before allowing Yoshi to finish his meal without further interruption. don't mind him he'll just be casually wiping down the counter-tops]

[ And now we are finished! The hoodie flops over the counter in an exaggerated manner before sitting up again and pulling over the tablet to type! ]

yeah!

we have to eat well and sleep or we can't interact with solid stuff anymore

i uh

ate too much junk food at first so the sunday after i died i couldn't talk to anybody because i was so tired...

szayel ordered us to stay out of the vents because if we die again we're gone for good

he said that if a soul dies it's like it gets atomized

but like, my soul body is like my normal body was before i died

i remember when i first... became aware as a ghost? ichigo told me that even if he took my body's eyes, he couldn't take my soul's eyes

so it's something like that, maybe!

[ He raises probably a hand to his chin in that uncertain gesture of his. ]

[he doesn't get it, but you know. maybe he doesn't have to]

[Interrupting ichigo!!]

What's so weird about it? You didn't think your soul reflected your body after death, did you?

[I MEAN IT. kind of does and doesn't at the same time?]

I don't know what I thought happened to the soul after death. I haven't contemplated it much.

That's normal, honestly. Most people don't like to think about death - at least, those that can't see spirits. I don't blame you, even if I don't understand the feeling.

. . . I do have to admit, being around ghosts does kind of change a guy's perspective.

[but not that much, since. . . he's still from a world where death was permanent]

It can do that, yeah. When I was little, I couldn't distinguish between the living and the dead, and that lead to a lot of trouble.

[A pause.]

Though I guess the real issue is that I don't fear the death of the body anymore.

the way the fuzzy guest talked about it, it's like we're just on a different plane of existence you can't sense!

[ DOES THAT HELP. ]

I can comprehend that.

Who is the fuzzy guest?

he looks like a fuzzy godzilla and he works on a kids show... wherever he's from!

he could see and talk to me just fine

i guess it's normal for people to be on the same plane as me where he's from, and they have no trouble sensing them still?

he even called it being life-challenged
